second u/s (m/c ment)

So, second u/s was just like the first. Empty sac, measuring just over 7 weeks. Given that I should be 9 weeks, there's no question now, it's not viable. I'm just waiting for the office to call and tell me when my d&c will be.

Uuuuggghhh.... Sorry to hear it. I was still hoping for a miracle baby for you. :bigarmhug: I hope you're doing okay and the D&C won't be too horrible...

Thursday morning for the d&c. eeek! I really don't want to go through a m/c, but I'm a little nervous about the d&c.

Blah, so sorry to hear, Virginia. I was holding out hope, too! :bigarmhug: Hope the D&C goes well and you're back on your feet super fast! Get some rest and take care of yourself!

I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself today. I'm not really mourning the pregnancy. It's nice to know there never was a baby. I'm just disappointed that I have to go through this and then start all over. It sucks.

ETA: I think the d&c is likely to be a good decision. On the 2nd my HCG was 71,000 and today it was 105,000. The sac has barely grown in that time. I don't think my body will get rid of this on its own any time soon. (I know it's not doubling or whatever, but it's definitely not dropping yet, either)

Sad So sorry to hear this, Virginia. :bigarmhug: I hope the D&C is not too bad. Sounds like it is a better choice with your numbers. Take care of yourself.

Ugh, sorry you've gotta deal with it. It definitely sucks to think of going through all that crazy m/s again... It's crazy that your numbers are still on the rise.

I hope the D&C isn't too bad. I've always said if I could control it I'd go that route over a natural m/c if it ever happens again. When I thought I was having a m/c with Calvin, I was bugging my doctor for a speedy diagnosis because I didn't want to go through a natural m/c again. I mainly prefer the idea of a D&C because it's the quicker way to get it over with. Once I know it's over, I just want it to be done and move on, ya know..

Mary - I read a bunch of personal account of induced m/c versus d&c before deciding. I don't like the (small, I've been told) risk that the procedure could make me infertile or cause problems in later pregnancies, but I suspect I'd end up in the ER with heavy bleeding if I tried to induce it, if my body even responded to the medicine. It sounds like the medicine is a better option if things have already started. I still haven't had even a hint of spotting.

Yeah, that was always the only worry in my mind about a D&C, the small risk of future fertility problems. For me, the natural m/c was just overly traumatic, so I think it's a risk I'd most likely be willing to take.

Thinking of you today. I hope it goes as easily as possible and you'll be on the mend quickly. :bighug:

ETA: I meant to ask if you told your family what was going on. Just curious since your sister just had her bad pregnancy experience..

I'm doing fine. It seems like everything went well. TMI I was home less than 3 hours after the d&c with light spotting and very mild cramping. Now I just have to wait and see if there are any delayed complications or issues with the pathology. Neither seems likely, but you never know. I am very glad I had it done this way. It's been pretty easy and the doctor said (after the procedure) that if I had tried to handle it at home he suspects I would have ended up in the hospital with very heavy bleeding and an emergency d&c anyway.

oh yeah, my family knew. We announced around 6w then a week later had to tell them about the bad u/s. My sister has been calling and checking on me but hasn't been able to visit because she just got a new puppy. Smile

ETA: who knows what we'll do with the TTC thing. My sister is starting again soon. Smile We're going to be on vacation with family mid-cycle, but I doubt I'll O on time. I think I'd like to O CD20+ because I think by then I'll feel healed and probably ready to give it a try. And hopefully my HCG will be down. It's got a long way to drop.

I'm not sure if I just posted in the August thread, but I was sure I responded to this, and I guess I didn't... I hope your healing process is getting better. I saw on the chat thread that it has been a bit difficult. :bighug:
