Erica - LOL to the "nurse booby" screams! I imagine that will be my life when Rory starts talking. I never liked the doctor and she started the convo with "so how much formula does he get a day?" Errrr how about you read my file? It's pretty clear I've never used formula. But I just ignored her, my regular doc has never said anything honestly I don't think he even asks about STTN. Our 1yr/3yr apt is with him thankfully.

Ugh Evan is a bolter and he came darn close to running in the road at my mom's. She doesn't live on a highway by any means but it's still not OK and certainly could have been a disaster. Besides being sure we have his hand at this point I'm not sure there's any way to really end we talk about roads and cars and danger but while he can tell you "cars are dangerous" he doesn't really grasp it.

Ugh we're currently having a "I need to go potty" freak out then he won't sit on the potty. He hates pooping on the potty. I'm not sure how to get him over this particular problem

Erica - My BFF was always a toe walker, up until we were about 7-8 years old and one of our teachers MADE her stop. She basically told her, "You will not walk on your toes in my classroom." She stopped then and never really was a toe walker after that, but she does have permanent leg issues from it. Not only are her achilles tendons short, but her actual leg muscles are short and she lost a great deal of flexibility in her legs, which she'll never recover. Nip it in the bud!!

Katie - Sean is a "bolter" too, uggghhhh... We have to hold his hand with a death grip whenever we go anywhere. I always try to stop and remind him to look before walking into a street, parking lot, anything... But it's like he just doesn't think of it on his own. It stresses me out!!

AFM - FINALLY... I just got a phone call from my potential boss about the transfer. It has been WEEKS and he has not returned my calls, emails, etc. The other lady that was going to try to trade me stores just got pissed and put in her resignation on Tuesday. My current boss (who is a MUCH better communicator) called me at 8am today and asked me to please not get frustrated and quit because he really thinks the thing is going to go through. So anyway, he finally called me tonight and I am to meet him on Wednesday at 6pm (I work 8-4 that day, so it's going to be a long day, but hopefully fruitful!). The only thing that sucks is that there's another girl who is currently in his district who is floating between three stores (including the one I want), and she wants full time at that store. Who's to say she won't get the spot since she's already in with him??? Ugggghhh... He phrased it almost like it's a freaking job interview (ugh) for the exact same job I've been doing the past 5 years, hahaha... Goodness. So we shall see.... Wish me luck!

    Good luck, Mary!

Katie - have you considered using a leash with Evan? They have some really cute ones which look like animal backpacks. Raymond was a bolter and I used the leash a lot. I took a lot of crap for it (from strangers and kidless family) but it kept him from running into traffic.

Lauren - glad you're feeling better!

Erica - I hope you can get PT without too much hassle.

AFM: got a negative OPK today! HPT is super light. Hopefully soon I'll be getting genuine positive OPKs. DH has been really pulling the heartstrings telling me how much he wants another baby.

Katie and Mary - so scary that you have bolters! I am so lucky that Xander isn't a bolter. He bolted exactly twice and made it one step into the road before I grabbed him by the arm or shirt or whatever I could get my hands on and dragged him home (both times we were on our way to the park). I think he was so upset about not getting to go to the park and he just "got it" right away. I'm not nice, if he breaks a huge rule like that we go straight home and I sternly give him a piece of my mind the entire walk. lol. But I think a lot of it is just his personality, he's a good listener. I figure I'm screwed with the next one and will get a little rebellious child. haha

Virginia - glad the opk is negative and the hpt is almost there!

AFM - my stomach exploded in the last week! I am huge! I've gotten comments from neighbors and DH and other people all week about it. haha. It also came with a nice 2 lb weight gain. Ugh. Oh well, still only up 9 lbs and I'm 24 weeks, so I can hardly complain... I just hope I can keep up this rate of gain through my entire pregnancy! I do not want to gain a ton in the end like I did last time. I was just so tired and crabby all the time, so I ate. And ate. And atttttteeee! But I learned my lesson, so I doubt I'll do the same thing again this time.

The weather is gorgeous! The heat finally went away!!! YIPPIE! Let's just hope it stays this way, I'm loving the 70's!

Lauren - You're lucky to have a good listener. Sean is soooo freaking defiant, disobedient, omg. Calvin is definitely my good little listener by comparison. I can remember him being less than 12mo, and I could tell him, "Go lay down and get your diaper changed" or "Go put your toys in the basket" and he would totally do it. Sean... He makes his own rules, LOL. The kid spends SO much freaking time in time-out. It's funny though, because he really is good... Strangers and people that we don't see all the time always tell us about how polite he is... At the end of our lunch at a restaurant yesterday, he told the waitress, "Thank you for taking all of our food away" as she was clearing the table. He really is a sweetie, but he knows how to test boundaries with me and DH.

Virginia - Yay for negative OPK!! I can't wait until they start getting dark again. You'll have to post a pic of THAT progression for us. It's good to hear your DH is on board to try again.

AFM - I don't want to wish this pregnancy away, but I hate that it's going soooooo slowly. I am not even to the point yet where the bean SHOULD have a heartbeat, omg. That part freaks me out. It seems like that's a pretty delicate and important part of the process since the m/c rate goes down quite a bit after heartbeat has begun. When does it start, somewhere like 5.5-6 weeks? Come on time, just go a tad faster for my sanity??

In other news, a week from tomorrow, I go for my bilateral breast ultrasound. Fun fun. They said it would take 45 minutes. They clearly have never seen my boobs, LMAO!! Seriously. There's not 45 minutes worth of material there to scan. After breastfeeding and weaning twice, they're essentially empty sacks of skin. Can't wait until these pregnancy hormones make them grow again, haha.

ETA: I'm feeling excessively CM-ish today, and I hate it. I feel the need to check for bleeding every other minute. Grrr.

Virginia - for busy places I definitely think a leash would work well! We aren't really going anywhere any time soon but if we do I will probably get one! Can't wait for you to get back to TTC

Lauren - For the most part Evan is a pretty good listener. He has his moments of taking toys his brother is playing with or jumping on the couch when I've told him not to but I wouldn't describe him as too defiant. Seems like a typical toddler that leans on the independent side. The bolting thing though is definitely his biggest issue area. It probably doesn't help that our house isn't in an area where it's at all dangerous so until recently we probably haven't really paid close attention. We live on a 5 house cul de sac far from a main road and we have a stockade fence and an attached garage. I actually think he picked the habit up at daycare where he and his BFF Lola apparently play keep away from staff together (everything is fenced and locked but he's told me that they "run away" and Lola is a notorious bolter she's got the devil in her but is adorable). Sigh. I can't imagine Rory bolting but then again he has to sleep touching me and hardly lets me leave a room. The independent kid and the codependent kid!

Mary - That is no fun at all (the CM) but I'm sure everything is healthy and growing - sending LOTS of sticky vibes your way!!

Lazy Sunday here. I'm going away tomorrow-Wed and Rory is a teething night waking/nursing nightmare. Poor DH. Rory is up every 1-2 hours and the only thing that relaxes him is nursing. He is going to terrorize DH He spent most of last night sleeping laying across me nursing when he wanted. He's not a stoic little man (Evan hardly batted an eye even for his 2 yr molars). I told DH sincerely to sleep where ever tonight to get a good night's sleep b/c Mon and Tue nights will likely be long. Rory doesn't cope well w/o me to begin with, hates bottles as a general rule and the teething only compounds it. I am feeling rather guilty about having ot leave but there's no way around it. boo

This cracked me up, hahahah. Leave it to Lola.

AFM - Thankfully, the CM has been clear thus far. I hope it stays that way. *Sigh*

Lola actually lives on the next road and they will go to school together all through - I imagine Lola will always be a ring leader We joke they will go to prom together

Oh anyone have any words of advice for HATING haircuts? Evan has progressively gotten worse and worse with haircuts. Yesterday I had to basically hold him in a body lock while he screamed and cried and I told her to just buzz it as fast as she could. He was SOBBING, yelling for daddy, asking to get down. Ugh. Total scene.

Sean is the same with haircuts... So I've resorted to doing most of them myself at home with DH's clippers, haha. I only take him to get it done professionally for special occasions, like SIL's wedding, because he freaks out about it.
