You're due the same day as me!
I must be one of the "bigger" girls around here. 5'7", 318 pounds prepregnancy and a size 22/24. Until last week, I'd only gained 8 pounds, but the home run edema got me another 6 last week alone.
Even though I'm large, I'm actually quite active and fit (I'm just an excellent cook!). My doctor does not have me classified as high risk.
My first OB was amazingly rude. I had him for 8 years as GYN, but with normal paps, who got to know him? At my first visit 7 weeks PG, he made me feel like a bad mother for being fat, and wondered why I didn't try to loose more than the 25 pounds I did loose before becoming pregnant. Didn't need that for more than a day.
I'm ready to drop at any moment, about 2 weeks to go for me. I've had a great pregnancy, I didn't get morning sickness, gained little weight, haven't had backaches, and except for the recent swelling, very little to complain about.
There's so many forums here, I only recently found the plus size topic, so I didn't get to participate much.
I'm glad you found us in the end!! But stick around as we are trying to get a plus size grads board for all us plus size mommies to go to once we have had our little bundles of joy lol..
I'm glad to see that things are going so well for you so far other than that moron of an OB.
Can't wait to read your birth story and see pictures of your gorgeous baby :D
Hi, I'm Alexis, 31, my husband is Rob (about to turn 36), and we are expecting our fist child 12/22 after a m/c September '06. I was a 16/18 at the beginning of this pregnancy (partly due to weight I gained with the m/c'd pregnancy that didn't come off), and am fortunate that my OB's office (which is 100% women, btw) has a very relaxed attitude about weight gain. I haven't gained much yet, but I am not made to feel anxious about it at the doctor's.
I'm looking forward to getting to know people around here!
hello all, my name is
Aida, i am 32 yrs..pregnant 17 weeks and 1 day with my 1 st baby.
My EDD is Dec 21st 2007
I finally decided it was time to inroduce myself after being a lurker for awhile! My name is Stephanie, I am 25 and this is mine and dh first baby! Although the pregnancy wasn't planned it was very welcome! We couldn't be happier! I had lost about 12 lbs right before I got pregnant and was a size 18. My doctor only wants me to gain about 5 lbs total... so far I haven't gained anything but we will see what the next 26 weeks will bring!
Hello, I found this forum last week and have been reading through it non stop. My name is Cindy, I am 30 and this is my first pregnancy. I am 13 weeks and 3 days. My DH is 34, he has a 10 yr old son that has lived with us full time since he was 4 so I have raised him and loved him as my own. BUT, I can't wait to really have my own! I know it will be totally different. We are hoping for a girl just b/c we already have Chandler, so some pink around the house would be nice!
My name is Jessi and I've been lurkering for some time now.. I am about 27weeks preg with my 1st baby a girl..
My name is Kendra and I am 15 weeks or there abouts.. The Doctor keeps arguing with me as I pretty much know within a day when the "issue occured" :) but they are behind a week or so. Anyway, I am a pretty big girl, 280 when I found out I was pregnant. I was told I wasnt going to ever get this way... 12 years unprotected sex and now at 30 I find myself passed out and in the ER being told, "you lied! You are pregnant."
I already had diabetes and am big so I am considered high-risk. Been working diligently to keep my sugar under control and panicking that I have already done damage to the baby. My best friend is trying but not being a mom herself she really cant offer any kind of help other than the support and lectures she already gives me. My husband is also 30 and has been wonderful or at least tries to be! :P
It is nice to see people in the same situations as I who might have some insight...
Hi- I'm Naomi. I have been lurking, so I thought I would introduce myself. I am a regular on the Sept 07 board. I am due Sept 2nd. Great to meet all of you!
