Default 2nd miscarriage, new to D&C

Sadly I am back here again and shocked about this loss. TTC has been so hard especially since I only have one fallopian tube now. I managed to get pregnant 2 years ago but loss that baby at 6 weeks, no heartbeat. We finally fell pregnant again and this time there was a strong heartbeat but when we back in for another check up, there was none (baby stopped at 8 weeks).

Last time I miscarried naturally and it was painful and drawn out. This time I am getting a D&C done (tomorrow). I was told recovery is fairly short, I sure hope so, never had one done before. I've been under anesthesia plenty though.

I would like to say I would continue TTC but I'm turning 43 soon and right now we're so shook up and unfortunately...time is just not on our side anymore.

    Thanks for listening...

Thanks for the post back, I'll keep an eye for it. I have my herbalist phoning me on Thursday and she'll give me a few tips too probably.

    Jennifer,

{{{{HUGS}}}}}}} I'm glad that you stopped by. I'll be thinking of you especially tomorrow.

While I have had multiple losses, I have gone through them all naturally. I'll have to defer to some of the other ladies here to share their experience with recovery after a D & C.

I realize from reading your story that you have faced some incredible odds within your TTC journey and certainly can understand your desire to take a step back. Fortunately you do not have to make any decisions at the moment and simply need to focus on your personal physical and emotional recovery. I know you have been down this road before... but a few reminders from me to not forget to take care of yourself in the days and weeks ahead. Continuing the prenatal vitamin (or another multivitamin) along with an iron supplement during the next few weeks especially can help your body recover. The rest of the healing is a process to work through in time.

If you do read this message before going in tomorrow, you may wish to discuss testing with your doctor. While it is true that for many of us there simply are no answers as to "why" - you may find that by asking for further testing it may give you answers to guide your future choices. This site has further information and recommendations on what to ask for.

Do come back and let us know how you are doing or -- just vent. As you know already, there are a number of stages and emotions that come and go.

    Take care,

    ~Missy

Jennifer, I am so sorry that you're here. When I read your update earlier my heart was breaking for you. It just seems so unfair. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow.

Missy, I'm reading your message now and leaving in soon for my D&C. I'll ask about testing. I sort of knew something was wrong with this one from the start, I was having awful leg pains every night and feel it was something to do with blood flow maybe, so testing is a good idea.

I've definitely faced odds and proved doctors wrong before, like when someone says you can't, I say "I will". That's why I find myself trying to encourage so many other women on here. I always believe in giving things a good fight.

You're right, we don't have to make any decisions at all right now and about all the emotions. I'll also make sure to keep taking my prenatals. My herbalist is calling me next week and she'll help me get back to being "healthy" and I got MSM powder to help detox from anesthesia.

Thanks again for your message! Will post back later...

I'm back home already, it went fairly well, bit of pain now but it's manageable. The hospital staff was great, spoke with my doctor and he's going to do testing. I told him about the very bad leg pains I was having with this one which just wasn't normal (something just wasn't right). He said it could possibly be a clotting issue and I told him I had "Antiphospholipid Antibodies" with my first son, so maybe it's back. Anyway, I'm relieved this is over with and home now. I go back for a check up in 2-3 weeks.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I had a D&E back in February. It honestly wasn't as horrible as I imagined it being. Take time to rest and heal. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers

I am sorry for your loss. I would ask about APA testing. I have it and it caused blood clots and pregnancy loss. I hope you feel better soon.
