Advice (PG Ment)

Hello ladies,

After TTC for 15 months, I got my first BFP on Monday. Then on Tuesday my doc informed me that she thinks I'm going to lose it based on my beta. Both my HcG and Progesterone are very low and she's not hopeful that this is a viable pregnancy. So now I'm pretty much waiting for my body to resolve the pg. Does anyone have any advice to share? Things I should look for, prepare myself for, advice on how to deal emotionally? I cried my eyes out yesterday and feel pretty OK today but am scared of the physical part of it. I'm not sure how I'll be able to deal...

Thanks for your input. :openarms:

Oh Wendy, what a rotten thing for a Doctor to say. Do you know how far along you are? Sometimes it takes awhile for the HcG and progesterone to climb. Don't be discouraged, and don't give up. KUP

(((((((wendy))))))

I'm sorry, I can relate to how awful it is to ttc for so long , get a bfp and then have it taken away from you. Its so cruel.

Did the dr tell you what your beta numbers were? Are you going in for a follow up test to see what the change in your beta is?

As for preparing yourself, i'd just say keep in touch with the ladies on this site. Vent and let yourself cry it out. I went to the library and read several books on miscarriage and loss, it helped.

Thanks so much for the input.

I'm on CD 29, 18 DPO today, so it's still very early. I believe I'm 4 weeks 4 days today. My HcG was only 14, but the really concerning number is my Progesterone which is only at 5.8 (she said it should be over 10). My doc thinks I'll start bleeding in the next few days, but if not I'll go back in on Friday to see if the numbers are going up, but she was clear that she's not hopeful. My HPTs seem to be getting lighter and I have no symptoms other than cramping. I'm trying to keep a little hope alive, but prepare myself for the worst, ya know?

well sweetie, thats scarey that your hpts are getting lighter. I asked my RE to test my progesterone before we had any concerns and he said that he wasn't worried about that. As long as my betas doubled. Do what you need to do, make sure you get your beta results by friday because a weekend not knowing will be hell. If they need a day to get results, maybe you can have your test on thursday?

My doc is a bit of a ditz, so I'm trying to keep that in mind. I live in a very small town, so I don't have a lot of options. Hopefully she's wrong!

You're so right about getting the tests before Friday. It would be a LONG weekend to wait. The lab has been very good about getting results back to me the same day, so I'm Ok with waiting until then. My temps are still up, so I guess I've got that to hold on to until then...

Thanks again...it's so helpful to have someone to talk to that understands...

Honey,

I'm sorry you are going through this. If I were in your shoes, I would be calling my Ob and demanding more blood test. If you progesterone level is low what is the harm of having supplements? You OB should at least be trying instead of making you sit and wonder. I pray things work out.

Unfortunately, I think the doc was right. My temp took a nosedive today and I started spotting last night. Sad

I am so sorry your baby has passed on Sad

If you decide to let it happen naturally. The physical pain should be a bit stronger then what you would expect to have with AF..

Please keep us posted on how you are doing?

Oh I am very sorry! Like the PP said the physical part will be a bit more than AF. I had a loss that started yesterday I was about 19 DPO. I was in such a shock when it started. Physically it was uncomfortable yesterday, not unbearable but uncomfortable. Today not as bad, cramps are more like a first day AF. Hang in there, I am sorry for your loss (((big hugs)))

Thanks ladies, you're all so sweet. I'm doing OK today, started bleeding lightly yesterday and am a bit more crampy today. I'm feeling very thankful that if we had to lose our little bean that it happened right away. It hadn't REALLY sunk in yet, which makes it a little easier to bear, I imagine.
