AF following a loss

I miscarried at 12 weeks in early July and I'm having my 2nd period now, on schedule. It's so much heavier than normal and I had major pms symptoms - bloating, moodiness, tired, headaches and really bad lower back pain. I try not to ever take pain meds but needed advil for my back pain. My periods were never this bad. Usually I would have 1-2 moderate days and then it tapered off. pms was manageagle. I had no back pain, sometimes a headache and bloating but not this bad. Is this normal to have such awful periods following a miscarriage? I've been trying to eat healthy and I'm walking on the treadmill every day for 30 minutes. Normally exercise minimizes pms but not now. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. Ugh.

Yes, this is normal....Your AF can either become lighter, or heavier....The change can be a permanent one...or, over time, you could get somewhat back to the way it was prior to your loss...It is a wait see game..

Make sure you are drinking plenty of water as well....When my AF would get really bad, I would use a heating pad on high...

Hoping that the symptoms taper off for you soon :comfort:

I have had the same problem. I am on my 3rd period since my loss. It is heavy and I have horrible PMS. Anxiety, crying smells, fatigue, naseua, the works. I never had this before I was pregnant. Normal all through, now they are heavy and exhausting. The heating pad worked for me yesterday so I would try that for the cramps.

Hopefully over time they will return to what I am use to.

Im sorry for your loss. Like the pp said, I think it's normal. I had a m/c on Monday and my dr. said that my next af could be considerably heavier than normal...

I dont have any advice to give really, but i know that a loss or a birth can affect AF. Last year after having Zane at full term my periods got really light and wierd for a while.

Thanks everyone. Feeling better today. Backache is finally gone and I am relaxing and enjoying a glass of wine.

I'm hoping things will return to normal soon because this was rough.
