Baby Aspirin (pg/mc ment)

I'm currently 13 weeks pregnant and it seems like everything has been going fine. I was on progesterone until 12 weeks and I think that has helped me to keep my baby. Just recently my Dr. told me to take Baby Aspirin and I've taken two now. This morning I woke up bleeding, just one session of it, I haven't bled anymore since and I haven't had cramping pains. I wasn't really having any problems until just this morning and the only thing I've done differently was the Baby Aspirin. Do you ladies know if its safe for me to take the baby aspirin? How many of you are taking it?

pg ment/stillbirth

I took baby asprin all the way threw my preg. up untill the last month. I had no problem with it at all. For me the asprin was to prevent blood clots from forming and causing another stillbirth. Almost one year later after my beautiful little Becca grew her wings, she sent us her little brother who is thriving.

I too took baby aspirin during my last pregnancy. I took one 81 mg pill every day until the last month. I don't know if it was responsible for my healthy baby born in February, but it certainly didn't hurt.

I don't think doctors always know why it helps, but since it doesn't harm anything, they often recommend it to women who've lost babies due to both known or unknown causes. Since my previous pregnancy before that just stopped growing in the second trimester, the doctor thought maybe there had been a blood clot or something and the aspirin might help the next time. Don't take more than the recommended 81 mg pill per day, though.

Hope that helps!

I read this on the march board as well. I would definitely contact your hospital and get them to contact your doc to see about the bleesding, but from everything everyone has said, I would at least continue the aspirin until you can talk to your doc. Hugs hon!

I think you are fine with the aspirin..

What other change did you make?? the progesterone...Some women need to stay on this longer...some the entire pregnancy...

I would suggest going back on the progesterone...I am a bit over 19 wks, and am still on mine...Most doc's will tell you there is no real benefit....This is not true...They are just not fully informed is all...It won't hurt to stay on it...

Of course, discuss this all further with your doc...

edited to say: I have taken, (and still am) baby aspirin since O (prior to preg) ...no problems..

Yeah I have a few suppositories left and if I start to bleed again before talking to my Dr. I will start taking them.. They were my miracle drug for this pregnancy, so I do trust in them. Thanks! Biggrin
