This is the first cycle I've managed to actually record something everyday. But I decided to keep track of everything. I'm making a note on days I have a lingering headache or I'm irritable or tired. Is that too much to worry about? I know that when these things affect me, they aren't always something to do with my cycle, but it seems like I should track it anyway. I've been feeling really down physically lately, it must be the time change. And I have trouble sleeping through the night, sometimes it's really restless sleep and there are many nights I don't sleep for 3 hours straight so my temps seem to be all over the place. I'm only on day 11 and I am taking it at the same time everyday, so I guess I should just wait and see how this one turns out. I want to wait for at least one more normal cycle before thinking of TTC again anyway. I don't know, I guess I'm just curious how other people are doing their charting. Every little detail or just some things?? Any advice would be great.
I chart every single detail on mine. Here's my link:
WARNING - ON LINK ARE BABY PICTURES
I have even added my own custom check boxes for my prenatals and when we DTD using a barrier or withdrawal.
I dont think it adds stress, but charting is something i enjoy. The more there is to it, the more in control i feel at a time when i have never been more NOT in control of my life. In my opinion, charting gets stressful when ladies dont chart everything and dont follow the guidelines as best they can because then they dont have as full a picture as they should so they can't read it properly and arent able to determine their cycle properly iykwim?
I still wake up at odd times in the night, but i continue to chart my temps as normal. It doesnt seem to have had an effect so far because i just go straight back to sleep. As long as you're temping at the same time every day and not moving too much, as in, not getting up to go to the loo or anything, you should be fine.
Thanks so much for letting me take a look at your chart. It REALLY helped to see how someone else's looked. I know in TCOYF it shows some charting and a few on the FF site, but it's not the same. I don't think my temps are that far off now, I'll have to keep charting to see for sure, as I said, I'm only on day 11 well 12 now and the only ones really messed up were from nights when I really tossed and turned. I totally agree that charting helps you feel more in control. I tried it last cycle, but couldn't remember to always temp, it was hard for me to 'get in the swing of things'. But now I kind of enjoy or look forward to seeing my temp and checking everything. I am paying way more attention to my body now than I ever did before. You are the one who really kept suggesting it and I have to thank you for that. It makes me feel like there is a little something I can do, when no-one else seems to have a clue.
P.S. How/where did you get your little cycle link. I think I might like to have one, but I'm so new to all this posting stuff, I don't think I know how. I'll have to look. It's probably on FF and I just didn't see it
Hey no problem! I'm just happy that you've decided to give it a go!
My chart ticker is usually in my signature, but fo course you wouldnt see it on this board because of not allowing them. To get a ticker into your signature just...
On your Fertility Friend home page you need to choose the option on the left that says 'sharing' and then click on 'tickers'
Then click on 'customise your charting ticker'
Go through all the steps to choose what ticker you want
When you get to the end of the options there is a picture of your ticker and the different codes to use it underneath.
You need to highlight all the text in the top box that says "bbcode" and copy it.
Paste this text into your signature on preg.org and you'll have a ticker with a clickable link to your chart.
It might not be visible yet though because you have to choose what information to display on your homepage and to do that...
Go to 'sharing' on ther left in FF and then click on 'Home Page Setup'
Then choose which charts you want to be displayed at the bottom there. You can also write a little bio and decide what info you want people to see.
Once that is done we will be able to see your chart.
