    Default D&C recovery

I hope this is the right spot for this post. I've been a bit lost on where I can and should post. I am hoping that I can get a couple of people's help on what they experienced with their D&C.

I found out that I miscarried last week, and had a D&C on Friday. Everything seemed to go great, but I've got a few after effects that I'm hoping are pretty much normal. I've been having severe headaches, Severe cramping right before a bm. Hurts to the point it drops me to my knees, but I'm not constipated. The pain comes before I even notice that I need to use the restroom. I'm extremely exhasted! My mood and emotions have pretty much leveled out though. But if I get up for too long, I'm lightheaded and sightly dizzy. Please tell me it's just the hormones that are still leveling out in my body.

The weird part is that my muscles are extrememly sore to the touch, as if they are all burised, or I just worked out my whole body. Not really achey, but they hurt (and not severe though). I've been watching for fever just in case, and there's no sign of one.

First off, I'm sorry for your loss. I just had one yesterday for a 2nd trimester miscarriage. The only real symptom is some spotting and mild cramping. It does get a tiny bit worse before I pee and I haven't had a BM yet, so I can't comment on that part. I think I might have overdone it a tad yesterday though, cause I wasn't cramping much till last night. I would definitely call your doctor and let him know just incase. GL to you!! Maybe someone else can chime in as this is my first D&C so its all new to me also.

I wanted to add that I did notice my back muscles are sort of sore. I'm wondering If I held myself so tense that things are now starting to relax in my body now that its all over.

Thank you for taking the time today and responding. I hope things are going well for you today. I am so sorry that you had to go through this proceedure as well. I have to say that I'm glad you're feeling a bit sore, because it helps me relax a little bit. I did call my dr, and she said that it sounds like normal process of healing after the surgery.

Again, my heart goes out to you. Please let us know what the test come back, and what you named your babies. Someone told me that they decided to name theirs a unisex name, and the only name I could think of was Pat from old Saturday Night Live shows. Made me giggle a bit remembering those silly skits.

How are you feeling today Lisa? I am more crampy and very sore today, especially my back muscles. I called my doctor also and they said the same thing, normal healing process. UGH, this just sucks. I hope you are starting to feel better by now

I am definitely feeling better! YAY, light at the end of the tunnel. I'm really happy to announce the cramps before a bm are getting better and better. And my muscles are much less sore. The light headedness and headaches are better too, but I've been trying to make sure I sit down and rest throughout the day. The best part are my emotions which haved leveled out some more. It seems that after the D&C I've been able to heal emotionally more and more each day. I'm still angry, but now more anxious to get done with the bleeding and back into life itself.

I am sorry about your loss.
Your tired and sore feeling could be left over from the anesthesia they used. I felt like I had a 10 hour workpout after my first D & C. The physical healing comes quicker than the emotional healing. I am glad you found out site.

I never thought of that. This feeling sucks though. When you are not physically feeling good, its hard to even begin to move on emotionally.

PS. Sorry about my siggy, I know better then leaving it on here. Won't happen again
