Can anyone please help me on what you are allowed to do and what you are to restrict after a D/C? (exercise, sex, baths.......)
I had a D/C on friday, and I either misplaced the sheet that they gave me after surgery, or never got one. I was pretty out of it after surgery.
Thanks for all your help!!!

I am sorry for your loss ....This board is a great place to come and work through your grief.
My doc told me I could not have sex till he saw me, which was about 2wks after my D&C (I would def say no baths till then either). Also, that I had to restrict activity until then as well..no heavy lifting, vigorous workouts etc...I could work...as long as the job did not require heavy lifting....Oh, and no aspirin containing meds for 2 weeks I believe..
I am sure you will get many different replies...This was just my doc's protocol.
(I am sure I have forgotten to mention a few other restrictions...This is all I can remember right now!)
((hugs))) I'm so sorry for your loss...
I went and found the paper they gave me... yeah, I'm the kinda person that never throws anything away.
Mine says: no baths, swimming, douching, having sex, or using tampons. Nothing inserted into the vagina until your 2 week checkup.
Its to prevent infection and I think maybe scarring too. It also says to make sure you take all the antibiotics they gave you. (did you get antibiotics?) ...I think I did, I don't really remember now. I was kinda in a haze for that whole week.... *sigh*
Mine also has a bunch of info on when you should call the doctor... like if your fever gets over so high, or you start bleeding so much an hour...
...it does get better with time. I know it doesn't seem like it will right now... but it does. Eventually the pain eases and you remember what if feels like to be happy. I'm so sorry that you had to go through this.
My D&C was 2 weeks ago yesterday. I was told not to shower for 24 hours, not baths for 7 days and "pelvic rest" (nothing in the vagina) for 2 weeks. My post op appointment was one week from the surgery.
