I need help. I had an ectopic pregnancy. I had no symptoms, at all. The only pain I had I thought was gas/idigestion. It was caught before it ruptured so I didn't need surgery and my tube is still in tact. Got methotrexate shots on September 13th, I was about 7 weeks along. Started bleeding September 19th until September 25th. Then started bleeding again on October 1 until the 4th. Now I started bleeding again today. Is this common for a m/c? It was my first pregnancy and I know nothing. I called me dr the second time I started bleeding and she said it could be my period or still the miscarriage she didn't know. Now it's been 4 weeks since the methotrexate shot so I don't know, could this be af? I was on clomid when I got pregnant because I hadn't ovualted for almost a year. I go in and get my HCG levels checked every week. Last week it was down to 61 and I hoped this week it would be 0, I find out tomorrow. So my question is, is it normal to bleed many different times during a m/c?
I'm really not any good at any of the 'technical' stuff. I'm pretty new here, but I am sorry you have to go through all this. The women here are great and I'm sure someone has a good answer. From what I have see/read, it doesn't seem like there is exactly a 'normal' m/c. I never bled, not once, the heart just stopped. I had to have meds start the m/c, but then I hear of others who had a lot of bleeding. Wish I could help. Take care of yourself. I hope you find the answers you need.
First I am so sorry for your loss.
I would tell the doc you need an ultrasound to make sure there are no products of conception left, I say tell because I have come to find that asking just doesn't work sometimes. The doctor works for you, remember that. I am surprised that you haven't had an ultrasound. It's good that he is checking your levels. I don't know if you are familiar with charting, but that may give you an idea of what is going on with your body. Let us know how your levels are doing.
My losses have been different (stillbirth & neo natal), so i dont know much about bleeding post m/c, but from what i have read on here it comes in all different ways. Sarah's suggestion about charting is a great idea. It would help you to understand what your cycles are doing and if you are regaining some normality and ovulating or not.
I hope that you will continue to post here. This board is a wonderful source of support to so many women in our shoes.
