I am new here but not new to having early losses. I have a history of Chemical Pregnancies; about 9-10 of those (long story). We are now going through another loss which stopped at 6 weeks. On top of that, they also discovered I have abnormal pre-cancerous cells from when they did a Coloscopy & Biopsy last week. So it was double bad news today and we decided to book a D&C so that way I can heal from that. Then a few weeks later I will go in and have the LEEP done. Since you can't have both procedures done so close together. I thought last weekend I was miscarrying but it was from the biopsies and this is my first D&C. Needless to say, it's been one big "roller coaster".
I know the LEEP should clear me of any bad cells but looks like a few months off to fully recover.
My co-worker had a LEEP done and then got pregnant. When she was about 16 weeks they had to do another LEEP due to pre-cancer. She carried to term and her daughter will be three in January. She also had a son 3 months ago.
Hi Diane, /wave.
I found out about the LEEP at the same time I found out I lost this baby. My doctor had to give me double bad news. From what I have been "googling", the LEEP does not sound so bad & it's more common than I thought.
Sorta good news, my D&C has been canceled. Started spotting over the weekend and finally bleeding. Hopefully it'll be like a bad period. Relieved nature finally took over.
Think my doctor said I can start TTC again a few weeks after the LEEP (like 4-6 weeks). At my age (41), she knows we want to try again sooner than later.
Thanks Deborah! I know there are a few kinds of LEEP, someone I know had the cryo freezing done. I am kind of looking forward to this procedure now so I can get back to being healthy again. It'll give me 2-3 months to get back into a good health routine, I ordered a slew of stuff from the VitaminShoppe, and plan on dusting off my WiFit too.
