Hello & a question (M/C ment)

Hi, I am new here my name is Maria. We found out 1 1/2 weeks ago (at 8 wks.) during an ultrasound that there was no baby. My HCG numbers were also going down. I just started bleeding yesturday (about 3 weeks after they said we lost the baby). It is barely anything at all. I thought you were suppose to bleed a lot. I was curious today to see if all the HCG was out of my body so I took a home test and the test line was way way way darker than it was 1 1/2 weeks ago. Shouldn't it be getting lighter? Any thoughts welcome. Of course my mind is now thinking "what if there is a chance I am not miscarrying." However, the little blood I am having isn't a good sign.:(
Anyways, when does the HCG levels typically go down?

I am so very sorry for your loss. It can take a few weeks to m/c. If it has been almost two weeks you may want to see your doctor to see if your uterus is clear.

Sending hugs.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. It can take a long, long time for your body to miscarry. It sounds like the placenta is holding strong and your body is just now starting to figure things out. With my first m/c, I spotted and bled lightly for about a week before it happened. Hugs!

I'm sorry that you are going through this. We understand.
Please check with your doctor and make sure that things are going okay. I had a d&e because I didn't want to go through the wait or the pain. My understanding is that it can take quite a while.

Hi Maria, I also found out at my 8 week ultrasound that there was no baby. I started bleeding about 4 days later. It was very light bleeding, lighter than a typical period for me even. The cramping was the worst part. And I only cramped for 2 days and bleed for 7 days. My levels were checked at my inital 8 week appt. just to be sure and then 2 days later. They had gone down by like 1000 in that time period. Then again about 3 days later, they had gone down another 3000. I don't know about the HPT, because I never took another one after I got the news from my dr. I hope this helps. I am so sorry for your loss sweetie.

I would check with your doctor. I was 9wks along when I found out, and had a d&c, and 2.5 wks after that I was still getting a positive hpt. My doc did check my levels at that point to be sure, but all was well. Hugs. I am so sorry for your loss.

Hi there,

I totally agree with the posters above. It can take a while to m/c, and it is best to see a doctor. It also tends to take quite a while for the body to 'right itself again' after an m/c -- I had several "weird periods" after my m/c's, then all went back to normal.

I am so sorry for your loss. But I'm glad you've written in here. We all care and we're going to help you through this.

Great big bear hugs,

That sounds weird, but about right. Ive heard that you still retain the HCG for quite a while. I had a D&E so mine were down fast. Big hugs to you. I know its a really hard thing to go through.
