Just a little advice. I have ended up seeing 3 GP's from my local practice and each one of them has given me different advice. 2 wanted me to have a scan and the Dr today wanted me to wait it out. My question is , how long am I likely to bleed and cramp for? I had my baby last night so the Dr had told me i would stop bleeding throughout today, but it doesn't seem to be easing (though obviously not as heavy as yesterday) and i still have cramps.
Just looking for advice really
Did you m/c anturally or have a d&c? From my limited knowledge I think you bleed longer if you m/c naturally. I had cramping for about a week and bleed for about 2 weeks. The bleeding lessened as the days went on.
I had a natural miscarriage. I will expect to bleed and cramp for longer than the Dr said then.
Thanks for the reply
With a natural miscarriage, the bleeding lasts up to 2 or more weeks..More, if all that had to do with the pregnancy, has not come out.
With a D&C, the bleeding will last 3 days to a few weeks..or more, if tissue is missed.
Your doc should give you a follow up ultrasound in 2-3 weeks, just to see how all is looking..
I ended up going into hospital overnight.
They did an ultrasound (to add insult to injury it was the same room as only 2 weeks ago we saw the heartbeat )
It was a natural miscarriage so I did not have a D&C.
I am glad to be home now.
I am very tired now and want to curl up. My little girl and DH are keeping me sane.
I never new this would hurt soooo much

I'm so sorry. I am glad that you are home. Take care of yourself.
I'm sorry honey. Make sure you get lot's of rest.
I'm so sorry for your loss! When we miscarried at 3 months...it was naturally and I bled for quite a while. Take your time to rest and indulge in goodie or movie while you wait it out. I'm sorry...I know nothing I can say will make it better but you're in my thoughts!
