It's been 8 weeks since my first S&C, and a week since the second and I'm still bleeding. I can understand why I bled so long after the first one. I don't remember if I came back and updated after my last question about bleeding, but I ended up in the ER on May 23 for heavy bleeding and clots. It turns out that when they did the first procedure they left part of the placenta in my uterus. So, I can understand the bleeding for the 7 weeks, and it infuriates me that they left something behind. I could have gotten really sick.
Anyway, I had a second S&C last Thursday and was told that I would bleed for a few days. Well, I'm still bleeding. WTH? I don't think this is healthy for my body, and I'm really starting to feel like my body will never get back to TTC form. I'm so scared that there's something really, really wrong and that we'll never have another baby. I just want to cry...
I did call my OB this morning to ask. I figured if anything else, it was peace of mind that although this is annoying and frustrating, it's normal. I talked to the nurse and asked her if it was normal to still be bleeding 8 days after an S&C. She said that it's totally normal to bleed/spot for several weeks after the surgery. She said that if the bleeding picks up and becomes heavy like a normal flow than I'm over doing it and need to rest. However, if I start to soak a pad in an hour that I need to call them.
I asked how long this would go on and she said the bleeding from the m/c should just be for a few weeks, but that I may not get AF for 4-8 weeks. She also said when it does return it will be pretty screwy the first few months. Wonderful I'm glad I called. It gives me a little peace of mind. I also realized that I got my ppAF 6 weeks after the girls were born, so that's kind of the date I've got in my mind. It gives me something to look forward to and if it comes sooner, than
