Unhappy looking for help cysts/lining (ttc ment)

    Hi Ladies,

I did post this on the TTC board where it belongs, but I have had so much more support from this particular board I hope you will not mind if I ask it here as well. Please note that this is about TTC ment.

I just got in from the doctor. My exploratory ultrasound (performed just to check me out) showed my lining was 4mm (which my doc said is normal) and everything looked okay. This u/s was done on Day 14 of my 32 day cycle. But he also mentioned it also showed a very small cyst on each ovary which my doctor said is nothing to worry about because they are only 1 cm and lots of women have these and they can shrink on their own or do nothing at all. Out of all the u/s I have had this is the first time this was mentioned.

I want to know what you all think of these cysts. I am so worried even through the doctor says they mean nothing to a future pregnancy and he's not worried about it. I also am wondering if my lining sounds normal so I can ttc. I know lots of you have been given numbers about lining thickness.

Please help me with whatever info or advice you have. I want to look forward to ttcing but I am so worried about this news even when he said not to.

PS- I am 26 years old with a history of 2 miscarriages but no other health issues.

I'm sorry I don't know anything about cysts or lining, but it sounds like it went well. I hope you are pg very soon!

I do not know to much about cysts on the ovaries...That said, I did find this link...may be helpful..

    http://www.emedicinehealth.com/ovari...article_em.htm

I would just have your doc follow them to see that all is progressing as it should (with your cysts, that is)

Hi Mom, I was wondering if you knew anything about the lining thickness? I thought I saw you comment about it long ago?

I would not worry about the cyst. A lot of cysts are just follicles that did not regress and they are just fluid filled. It's pretty common.

As far your lining what CD are you on now?

    scratch that-

When you had that u/s at CD 15, had you ovulated yet? How many days pre-o or post O were you?

Also, how is your usual Luteal Phase on average? That is, the number of days between the day after you ovulate and the day you start your period.

I agree with Katie....We would need to know if you O'd yet...or were close to O'ing...

Example: If you have a 28 days cycle....And you have not O'd yet, but are close....An *average* lining would than be around 7mm on CD14 I believe....Which would be considered good if one were ttc...

Keep in mind the number above is not set in stone!

The u/s was on Day 14. I normally ovulate around Day 16 and I don't think I had ovulated yet. The lining on that day was 4mm and the doctor said this is normal but didn't explain much of it to me.

I have read online that above 5mm is considered a concern for cancer or other problems and that the lining should not be much thicker unless there is a pregnancy happening.

I am confused because when I hear of others ttcing or in early pregnancy I've heard of higher numbers.

Oh by the way my cycle is 32 days.

I am pretty sure the concern would be if the uterine lining were still thick right after menstruation...As at that point, it should be very thin, not thick.

Your uterine lining has to grow enough prior to O in order to sustain a pregnancy...So, you want your lining to be thicker, not thinner..

If you were to O in a couple of days, your lining should thicken up a bit more...Will your doc be putting you on progesterone?? If you have not spoken about the use of progesterone 3 days after O, I would..

according to the doc I don't need progesterone because my lining was fine. But I know what you're saying and I have heard of it's benefits. I have an appt with an actual OBGYN next week instead of just my fam doc. I am going to ask him all these things you just told me about. I will also clearly remind him I was on cycle day 14 at the time of that reading.

Perhaps I will be stuck waiting one more cycle just incase.
