Default Is this it?... M/C Ment. TMI

Since I found out the devastating news, I have been praying that if its not the time for me to be pregnant to please let me M/C soon and naturally. I've been sick thinking about having a D&C...I think because psycologically it would feel more traumatic...I don't know ...I've never been here before.
This afternoon, I have had very light bleeding, its brownish though. Could this be the start? I just really hope and pray that it is. I know it will be hard regardless. I just want to be able to have some closure and grieve the loss...which the past few days I just haven't been able to do. If I won't be able to keep this pregnancy I would like to stop feeling pregnant, because it crushes me over and over again throughout the day. I'm sure you all understand.
Is there anything I should watch out for? I just feel so uninformed, and of course it has to be the weekend. I just didn't really know who else to ask. Thank you so much in advance. Your help and thoughts have already been so invaluble, and mean more to me than you guys will ever know.

I'm sorry, I know how scared you must be. Call your OB. Many women spot and go one to carry the baby to term. If it is dark blood, it means it is old. That is a good sign.

Please drink plenty of water and rest as much as you can until you get to see your doctor.
Keep you chin up and stay positive!

Ashley, it very well could be the start of it. I had some light spotting a few times after my diagnosis, and it never did start on its own. I hope that you get the answers you need and if things are to start they do. hugs!

Most doc say that if you soak 1-2 pads an hour for more than 2 hours then you need to go to the ER. I am in the midst of this myself and it can be painful. There is medication they can give to help with the pain. I'm so sorry for your loss. PM me if you want. Don't sit at home and hurt though.

It could be the start... I had light bleeding for several days, though, and still ended up having to have the d&c.

I read ounce that belighted ovum can happen up to 12wks.

I had a natural m/c. If I would of had a choice, I would of choose a D&C. I spotted ounce during my pg. It was old blood (brownish) and my O.B. didn't seem to be concerned. A week later the bright red blood started, with lots and lots of big clots. If you decide to go through with a a natural m/c be prepared for heavy heavy bleeding, and painful contractions. I hemorrhaged, ended up in the hospital, my b/p dropped seriously low, and I received 2 pt. of blood. I could of avoided all that if I had a D&C. I'm not trying to persuade you, just trying to give you more information. I know some women have been given a check-list for natural m/c. Having heavy-flow pads, pain meds, heating pads, and other stuff to have on hand at home.

It certainly could be the start, but it may still take some time for the miscarriage to happen. My first m/c I had a week of red bleeding (like AF) before I passed the sac.

I know you must be feeling concerned. Speak with your doctor as soon as you can. Brown blood does not indicate a mc. If you have bad cramping and red blood then it is quite possibly a mc. Try and trust that your body will do what it needs to do. I have had 2 miscarriages, not needing a d&c for either. My thoughts are with you. Hoping for the best!

When I started to mc I had red spotting/very light bleeding for about 2 days before the contractions started and I passed the sack. I had been told that it was like a heavy period but that was not the case (I'm not saying this scare you but just want you to be prepared). I had a VERY heavy bleeding, painful cramps/contractions and passed the sack after about 2 hours of the the previous. Definitely be aware of how much you're bleeding and my midwife told me that if I soaked a regular pad (not the thin maxi's) in less than an hour then I need to go to the ER just in case of hemorraging. Also, if you get a fever that can signal infection setting in. I can understand your fear of doing a D&C which is why I waited out for the natural mc to happen. Your Doc or midwife will still need to check your hcg levels afterward to be sure everything passed. Whatever you do, please get your rest and know we're here for you and have been in your shoes.
