The Next Step

Hey everyone,

So our next step is to use the Misoprostol (sp?) to help my body with the loss. We plan on starting that Monday - have the weekend to do things and spend time together and then next week, obviously, just be at home. My DH is off until Friday, so he'll be home with me (or around anyways) It means taking next week off of work, so I'll be telling my boss this morning about the miscarriage.

The Pregnancy Loss Clinic is amazing. I've spoken to one nurse twice now and she has been so great. She is sweet and sincere. They are helping accomodate us with having to avoid the 5 hour drive to the city (and 5 hours back) to get the Rx, etc.

Anyhoo. I have to do some bloodwork this morning, call my family Dr office to update them on what's happening and what we are hoping to do, and try to get things figured out before Monday.

Yup it is amazing. Actually there is a separate clinic for each hospital although the main one is at the Alex/Lois Hole. Patti is (as far as I understand) the overall director for all the clinics and she is so amazing.

For the first month the clinic at Grey Nuns called me weekly to check up on me. Patti is always available by phone (and as I live in the city for visits).

Unfortunate that there is a need for a clinic like this but it is amazing to have the support.

I don't know if you have other kids but I was given books/resources to help my ds understand things.

Hugs again and if you need to talk I can PM you my email and phone #.

Thanks. We actually didn't have to go to the city - saves a loooong trip. I was able to get the Rx here and the instruction sheet and I am waiting for someone to call me back to go over it all with me. Then, just have to enjoy our weekend and then start Monday.

I agree that it's unfortunate, and yes, the support is amazing. I wish more people knew about it. I do have a 20 month old son, so he is too young to know what is going on.

I have some great friends too. They are all going to check up on me (mostly through electronic devices) next week. My Pharmacist is amazing too - she got all teary eyed when she was talking to me today... I just wanted to run around and hug her and tell her it'll be ok. She's a sweet lady.

Anyhoo - thanks so much for the support. I will definitely keep you in mind if I need to talk :bigarmhug:

It sounds like you have a plan in place. I hope the process is quick and not too painful.
