Default Quest. about S&C or D&C

I had my S&C this morning, and aside from feeling empty inside, I feel alright for now. I haven't had a lot of cramping or bleeding. When does that start so I can try to prepare myself. Also, how long until your period came back? I've heard anywhere from 4-8 weeks...

    Hugs.

I think I got my period around 4-5 weeks after my losses.

For me, between 4-6 weeks. After m/c #1, it was 4 weeks exactly. After m/c #2 it was about 5-6 weeks I think.

I bled right after the D&C for a day or so and it got lighter as time went on. Glad to hear you're doing as well as you are...hang in there.

Holly, what does the S in S&C stand for? Suction? Sorry, I have not heard that term before.

For me, I bled on and off (both times) for 10-12 days, much of that was spotting. The pain was more on and off as well. My first af came back 36 days after the d&c, both times.

Yes, the S stands for suction. I had never heard it said like that before, but when I talked to my doctor she said "You will have an S&C, not a D&C." Not sure how exactly their different Thanks for the replies ladies. Some minutes I'm just ready to get it back so we can start trying again, and then other minutes I'm in tears. Agh

    Hugs Holly.

Interesting, I had to go look up curettage in the dictionary, which just means surgery. I guess I had s&cs also, but they just called it a suction d&c.

Anyhow, hugs and prayers, and whether you are ready to ttc or not, you should join us over at the ttcal board, I have found much solace there as well.

((((HUGS))))) I cannot answer your questions but did want to let you know that I am very sorry to learn of your loss. That rollercoaster ride between wanting to try again and being in tears over even *thinking* about it can be difficult.

I did want to let you know that you are welcome to join our chat with your midwife, Cynthia Flynn, tonight at 9 pm Eastern. She would be able to answer your questions on what to expect regarding your return to cycle and any others you may have.

    Thinking of you!
