You *could* O that soon after a loss....That said, your beta could still be up. If this were the case, the OPK would pick it up as a positive. I would suggest taking a sensitive pregnancy to see if it is negative. If so, then you may indeed be getting ready to O..

Although most women don't, my doc told me it was definitley possible to O that quickly after an M/C. But, she also told me not to necessarily trust OPKs either until I had gotten at least one completely negative home pregnancy test. An M/C can really throw those hormones out of whack.

Good luck! I hope this turns out to be it for you.

yes, women have used opk's to test for pregnancy if they were out of tests and it shows pos. So it might be that you still have hcg in your system.

I can relate to the desire of ttc asap. Every body is different and its possible that you are o'g so if the dr has given you a green light and as long as you are emotionally ready than go for it.

I wondered the same thing. I m/c on the 10th and just started temping 3 days ago, and my temps are high. I don't know what to make of that.

I had a M/c on 9/11 and I took a hpt 2 days ago and it said positive, so the hormones are still not out of my system yet.
My doctor said you can get pregnant before your next period but the risk of M/c is very high. He told me to wait until I have 1 full cycle then we can start. I wish you the best of luck and I am sorry about your loss.

Getting pg immediately after a m/c does not increase your risk of a subsequent m/c. Unfortunately, many docs still believe that (they obviously haven't done their research) and pass on that erroneous info to their patients. Many docs still tell their patients to wait at least 3 months before TTC again.

If you feel ready to TTC again this soon, go for it. It is quite possible that you are O'ing now. However, it's probably just as likely that pg hormones are not yet out of your system. Are you charting? I found charting to be incredibly helpful after my m/c. I just had a need to know that my body was getting back to normal....that it was working right. A thermal shift will tell you for sure whether or not you've O'd. It'll also give you something to go by if you do conceive this soon, in regards to an EDD. Otherwise, your LMP, technically, will be the LMP you used for the baby you lost, and technically, will give you the same EDD. Of course, it would be inaccurate, but again, docs are dumb sometimes. I think that's one of the reasons docs advise to wait until after your first AF to TTC again....to take the guess work out of determining your EDD.

Anywho...sorry for rambling.

GL with TTC again! (And just a word of advice....be prepared for some serious ups and downs when you do get pregnant again. The first tri is especially emotional!)

I also lost our baby 9/12. Should I be charting already? what web page do you suggest? If nothing else, it might help get my mind on something else. Thanks.

I would recommend www.fertilityfriend.com for charting. It's awesome and also the one that most ladies on these boards use. Smile If you're a beginner they also do a free email charting basics course, which i found really helpful and it doesnt take long to complete.

If you would like to chat with ladies who are also TTC after a loss check out our TTC After A Loss boards: http://www.pregnancy.org/bulletinboards/forumdisplay.php?f=53 They're brilliant there!
