I contacted a local funeral home whose director is good friends with one of my dear friends, and they are going to make all of the arrangements with the hospital, and they are going to cover the cost of cremation. The whole thing will cost us nothing. Such a true blessing. We are going to see if we can have a memorial service and scatter the ashes at the beautiful garden at our church (which is actually a small Benedictine community).
So glad to hear it got straightened out so you could make your plans. I think that's so important for being able to cope and something that a lot of the medical professionals just don't seem to think about. It's nice to hear that someone is trying to help you out and make this process easier for you. I'm so sorry that you're having to go through this and feel this pain. I hope that having a plan helps your heart begin to heal.
