Basically Ada's organs were fine. She was exactly as she should have been for a normal 25 week baby. The only abnormal thing that showed up on the post mortem was that her lungs had things in them (sorry, i dont know what they are) that indicate asphyxia.
Because the organs were all developed properly and not too small and there was no evidence of prolonged lack of oxygen it seems it was something sudden.
Sometimes a sudden lack of oxygen can be caused by a placental abruption, but i didnt present with bleeding and the placenta showed no signs of having come away. So it wasnt that.
The only thing that he said he thought it could have been and he emphasised that it was purely speculation, but he said it could have been a kink in the cord. The cord checked out perfect. Right number of vessels and no knots or anything.
So, we're both really glad we've got that over with. We were ****ting ourselves thinking that they were going to tell us something that we dreaded hearing, but it turns out it's just sods law.
Unfortunately we are some of the unluckiest people alive when it comes to our kids.
