Default when does your period resume after a miscarriage?

I had a miscarriage a month ago and had a D&C following it, and spotted for a week. So now I'm wondering should I expect my first period soon, or does it take a few months to get back to normal? I'd like to try to conceive again....I know I shouldn't be anxious, but I've kept up with my Materna.......just incase!

I've come to learn through all of mine with D&C's usually your AF will return within 4-6 weeks. I would def. keep on the Materna, just because it is so good for you anyways & will help when you do TTC again!

Wow, I was going to post this question myself today, I'm waiting on AF myself. Does anyone know if there is anything we can do or natural rememdies to help bring it on?

^^ I am not sure, but I don't know if it is a very good idea. Your body needs to recover, especially after a D&C. I know the wait is hard, but in the end, your body needs it & that is important too, to make sure all is A OK for holding another PG!!

That being said, I know of many that have gotten PG within 2 weeks of MC, as it is just like starting new. The 4 week mark would be like a new cycle beginning. Does that make sense?

I agree with PP. I think most people get theirs right about 4 weeks.
I just wanted to add my own experience... I didn't get my period back for 3 months. I don't think thats the norm, and I don't think I've hear about anyone else waiting that long.
I just wanted to ask, did you doctor put you on bcp? I know some will after a d&c to try and help even out your hormones.
I wish you good luck in TTC when you and your body are ready.

(((hugs))) I'm sorry you lost your little one.

Why wait when I feel great? You would think that when you period does resume, that is the body's way of being back to normal again.
I am only on iron pills for a few months, but I haven't seen my doc as it seems like such a nuisance to go to the doc for such a silly question.
