wiped out- m/c discussed

I have been doing this m/c at home and I just feel wiped out today. I think the worst of it was yesterday. I had a lot of cramping and passed several big blood clots. I thought I was going to have to to the ER at one point. Anyway I have a friend who is a PA and she got me some pain medication. The bleeding slowed down and the medicine eased the pain. Anyway, I just feel wiped out and weak today. I lost 2 pounds yesterday. Is this the normal way to feel? In June I had a D&C so I did not have all the pain and bleeding that I am having this time. If I ever have to do this again...which I hope and pray I don't...but if I do I'm definately taking the D&C.

I'm sorry for all the pain you are going through. I had the d&c, too, so I don't have that experience. But people I know who have gone through what you are going through definately had a lot of pain and were equally exhausted, so I think it's pretty normal. Please hang in there.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

Yeah, what your going through is normal for a natural m/c. The cramping and pain are contractions. I've never had a d&c but I hear you skip the contractions and heavy bleeding with one. I was told to stay on my prenatal vitamins for the iron until my bleeding stopped. The Dr. also gave my Doxycycline (anti-biotics) to prevent infections. I would take it easy for a week, stay in your pj's, get lots of rest, drink plenty of fluids, and no heavy lifting.

I'm sorry for your loss. You can lose a lot of blood from a m/c. Ask about taking extra Iron.
Make sure your drink a lot of water and rest. One can be drained not only physically but emotionally as well.

I have always felt physically drained from the whole m/c process. Try and take as much rest as you can and eat and drink as healthily as you can. I have always continued my pre-natals too.

I have only had d&cs, so I do not know about natural miscarriages and severity and such. It sounds horrible though. Hugs. Take it easy.

I went through a m/c back in April, and it took 3 weeks. It was horrible! I eventually ended up taking some drugs to start the m/c as it wasn't happening, and that was the worst part - I had contractions all night, and they were so unbelievably painful, I couldn't believe it, and I have a pretty high pain tolerance. Went to the ER in the morning and they pumped me full of morphine. I was in the hospital all day, waiting for the m/c to happen (they thought it was imminent) and I just wanted it all over with! I pushed for a D&C and had one the next day. I was about 15 weeks pg too, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference? I had a m/c at about 8 weeks two years ago and that was quick and painless. Just a bit of cramping.

So sorry you're going through this, hang in there. I think the feeling wiped thing is completely normal, it's also emotionally exhausting as well as physically.

I am so sorry you are having to go through all of this. Ive heard that its pretty normal what you are going through. I opted for the D&C just because of all of that. I sure hope that you are able to rest and get some strength back. Big hugs.
