Just a disclaimer: Even though most of the following post is going to sound like *****ing, it really isn't. Ok, it is, but deep down I still know how very lucky I am to be pregnant and experiencing these things.
On to the *****ing....
I feel like crap.
I'm soooo tired I can barely keep my eyes open.
I am one giant, walking zit. It's disgusting.
I'm in MATERNITY clothes today. 9 weeks, and in maternity clothes. I've gained no weight, I'm just bloated like a whale.
I am getting a cold. I've sneezed no less then 12 times in the past 10 minutes, and am blowing my nose constantly. As you can imagine, this does nothing for my energy level.
Nothing sounds good to eat, but I HAVE to eat or I'm so nauseous I can hardly stand it. Sometimes, though, my body plays an evil trick on me where I think something sounds great - yay! - only to eat it and then feel worse then I felt before eating.
On a day where I want to do nothing but sit at my desk, I'm in the file room for the ENTIRE day pulling the last of over 250 files we pulled and reviewed for an upcoming audit. This would be ok, except, today we found out that we will actually be getting a more modified list with about 1/4 of the files on it that the auditor will actually be looking at. So, basically, we are pulling all these damn files for nothing. When I asked why were were pulling all the files now, rather then waiting for the modified list, the answer was, "Busy work" - seriously???? I have a desk FULL of stuff I can do that I've been putting off because of this audit. And you dare to give me, "busy work" as the answer as to why???? Frustrating, to say the least.
Well, it's back to the file room for me.
End of ***** session.
My cold is worse today, but aside from that, I feel ok. Energy is still very low, but that is to be expected.
I'm really looking forward to my next appt, which is a week from today! Can't wait to hear that heartbeat!
I drug out all of my maternity clothes. I give, the belly wins.
Last night Brendan said, "Momma, your belly is so big because there is a baby living in there?"
Him: "Is the baby awake or asleep?"
Me: "I'm not sure, probably asleep."
He thinks about this for a minute..."Ok, I'll be quiet then." :D
We told him I was having a baby quite some time ago, and I think it's adorable that he's thinking about it off and on. He'll really think it's crazy when I actually have a baby belly!!
I'm back to feeling good today - back to my normal self!
Nausea is still present, but not unbearable. My cold is actually a bit better. We are DONE pulling all of those annoying files we've been working on for weeks. And, it's FRIDAY!!
We are doing Easter this Sunday instead of next - we'll have the Easter Bunny come, have a nice brunch, and the kids can find eggs and their baskets. It's been our tradition for years, and since we'll be at my parents house on actual Easter this year, this will work out great!
Dh and I are really getting along awesome right now. It's normally pretty great, but it just seems right now it's been even better! He's been working a TON lately, going in at 3 or 4 AM so he can get home in time to see the kids and help out at home. It's been awesome. I can actually sit on the couch and he gets them ready for bed, and everything! He's been a big help to me. He's so excited about this baby, too - it's so cute. I'm very, very lucky!
I've discovered that it is viritually impossible to garner any computer time on the weekends, there isjust too much going on!
The weekend was nice. I got the kids' pictures taken on Saturday - and they turned out great! I'm so happy, Halle isn't a picture taking kind of girl, so I was so glad the ones we got of her are cute. If you read this, and care to check them out, I've got them posted on my family website: www.landstromfamily.blogspot.com - have a look! :D
So, we did that Saturday morning, then went out for lunch, and then came home. Dh's mom came up on Saturday afternoon to stay overnight and help all of us dye Easter Eggs, which was so much fun. The kids are really getting into that kind of stuff now, because they are old enough to understand - so it makes watching them enjoy that much more fun! Then, because we'll be gone next weekend, the Easter Bunny made an early appearance at our house on Sunday morning! The kids, of course, were estatic and had a blast looking for eggs and their baskets. Then we spent the rest of the day lounging around, playing games, and doing nothing. Just the way a cold, rainy Sunday should be!
I have my next doctor's appt. this Thursday. I'm very excited. I just want to hear that little heart beating away - plus, I'll already be 10 weeks! YAY! I'll be happy when the first trimester is over - it's always a good hump to get past.
Work calls, so I had better get busy!
Whew - what a day! We woke up to 4 or 5 inches of new snow this morning, and it's still coming down! The most annoying thing is that they STILL haven't plowed - it's ridiculous. The snow that is falling is falling pretty slowly and driving conditions are terrible with 5 inches of new snow and ice on the roads.
Aside from that, I'm keeping very busy at work - we've gotten tons of new business these past few weeks, which is great - I much prefer being busy to being slow!
I'm feeling good - I've got 2 days until my next appt. and hopefully the doc will schedule another ultrasound so I can see the baby again. If not, I only have another 10 weeks to wait until the "big" one, so that's not too bad!
Ok, I have to get back to work - too much to do!!
It stopped snowing, and they finally plowed! YAY! I've got a busy evening ahead of me, a good friend I work with is working her last day at the bank today - :( She is moving on to bigger and better things, however, so I'm happy for her, despite being sad for myself. Anyway, we are having a going away party for her tonight, so I'm picking up the kids after work, and we are heading to the party. I'm only staying for a couple of hours, though, because I have to get all my stuff ready tonight, and my vehicle packed so that I can leave right after work tomorrow to head to my parents. Luckily I got almost all of the laundry done last night, so that's one thing out of the way.
Ok, I have to share a cute story.
Last night Brendan said, "Momma, I wish I could catch the moon"
I said, "What would you do with it if you caught it?"
Brendan: " I would put it on top of the microwave"
Me: "Then what would you do with it?"
Brendan (in a exasperated voice): "Well, Momma, then I would put it back in the sky so it could do it's job!"
His logic never ceases to amaze me!
It's been awhile since I've written! I'm actually home from work today, as I have the stomach flu! Ewwwww! I thought my morning sickness was getting WAYY worse last night, I couldn't eat anything, and dry heaved several times. Then, around 10:00 last night my good friend called and said that her kids have Rotovirus (stomach flu); she and her kids were at my kids' birthday party this weekend, so the reason for my illness became clear. I'm just hoping my sister doesn't get it, I worry about her because she has a compromised immune system due to a kidney transplant when she was 14. I'm going to call her today after her classes to give her a heads up.
We had another birthday party for the kids this weekend, this time at my parents house. It was great! The kids got so much nice stuff, and it was such fun to see everybody!
Pregnancy-wise, I'm doing well. I went in for a regular doctor's appointment last Thursday, the doctor found the heartbeat after a minute or two, which is such a sweet sound! And, I lost 2 lbs! Yay! I also had another ultrasound because my spotting hasn't altogether stopped. I was glad to see our little peanut again. They discovered I have a sub-chorionic hemmorage above my placenta. It's very small, and according to the doctor, shouldn't affect the pregnancy. Good news! I go back for my next regular appt May 6th, and my best guess is we'll do another ultrasound to check on the hemmorage.
I'm off for now, lunchtime for the kids!
I'm back at work today, my flu has gotten better for the most part. I did lose another 4 (or so) lbs because of it!
I think I'm actually going to make supper tonight for a change! I used to be great about it, planned my meals out at the begining of the week and everything. These days I'm so tired I can barely think about the week ahead, and only make an actual supper a night or two a week! Plus, it doesn't help when nothing sounds good to eat. I'll scan some recipes and decide on something!
My doctor actually called me at home last night to make sure her nurse had called me last week to tell me about the sub-chorionic hemorage! Wasn't that awesome of her?? I was just so impressed, some doctors can barely get back to you during their work day, let alone on their personal time. She's really great & I'm so glad I have her!
Ok, kind of a sporatic post! I'm off to get caught up on my work!
11 Weeks! Woot!!!
I feel good today!! I ate and don't feel sick, my flu is gone, and it's supposed to be warm this weekend - WAHOO!
I was going to vent about DH's dad because he's such a selfish, self-absorbed, only-thinks-about-himself kind of guy, but I won't because I don't want to ruin my good mood! Save it for another day, I guess!!
I'm off for now, I have a million things on my desk that need attention!
TGIF! I'm so happy another weekend is upon us. Better yet, it's supposed to be sunny and in the 50's here! YAHOO! I've had enough of the cold, snowy, crappy weather, that's for sure! My plan is to clean out my car this weekend, vacuum and all. We'll see how motivated I am.
I'm feeling good. M/S seems to be gone, for the moment, which is nice. I do have certain food aversions at times, last night I made grilled chicken breasts and threw them into some Rice-a-roni. The kids ate, and when I went to dish mine, I couldn't even look at it, it made me gag. So, I had an egg sandwich instead. Strange how that works. It's happened twice now.
Off I go, I have to get the rest of my stuff done so I can get out of here at 4 today!
