Baby Boo due 10/8/07

I really need to journal to keep caught up with things! I'm a scrapbooker, too, and I need to put everything into one place to keep it organized. My first two have stuff in boxes all over. The difference in then and now is that we have the blessed Internet to keep track of everything. Way cool.

I guess I'll start from the here and now and then fill in the blanks from the past 15 weeks. It's been an awesome journey so far. It's unreal that we are almost halfway through it already!

I will start out mentioning that we finally got pregnant after a year and a half, testing and then 3 rounds of Clomid and then a break that surprised me! Not trying has it's rewards. I tested probably when I was 6 weeks, so I was well under way in this pregnancy without even knowing it. DH thought this was "it" so he says - hindsight is 20/20 darling!

The second trimester is definitely easier than the first, but the first wasn't so bad for me. I had a ton of fatigue but no morning sickness. I'm showing now and I love the baby bump! DH is desperate for a boy....we just got a bunch of outfits from his friend and they are all team blue. Well, I'll wrap it up now, just wanted to get started on this. Much more to talk about soon!

Today's a great day! I'm really looking forward to my doctor's appointment next Monday. I'm also looking forward to relaxing this weekend. My stepdaughters aren't visiting this weekend so it's just me and my kids as DH is working on Saturday. I can't wait to get caught up on some cleaning and general nothingness! And maybe even a nap or two!

I'm trying to hang in here at work until the baby comes. I have no plans of quitting before then, but I dream about it daily! Things have really changed since I had my first two children. I was very independant and had to work, now I can't imagine not staying home with this one. I really wish I could have done that when my older children were born. I did have about six months with both of them, which was nice....but I missed out on so many years with them it seems like. I love them both to pieces, I hope they can love this little one as much as we do already.

DH and I have been having lots of fun lately, not sure what has gotten into both of us. 2nd trimester hormones shouldn't be like this, right??? Not complaining!! Biggrin

Here's my last set of belly pics that we took. I think these were on Apr. 1st, so almost 3 weeks ago!! WOW, I need to take some more, although, I don't think I've changed much. I guess I was 12 weeks here?

Quick update while I have it typed out for all the boards to see! LOL

I had my 16 week checkup today. He scheduled my BIG U/S as I knew he would. I go back in four weeks, May 21st. I didn't want to wait that long, but now that I have a date to look forward to - I'm fine with it. Team Blue, please!!

Yesterday, I sorted out the bag of boy baby clothes we received a few weeks ago by size. There were at least 15-20 pieces of each size (newborn, 3-6, 6-9, 9-12 and up) - we are so set if it's a boy, LOL. If not, we'll shop till we drop for girl stuff!

The doc also did the doppler, he said the baby was very active, as he tried several times but he/she kept moving around. DH and I recorded it on both of our phones. Lol They also took more blood to check for spina bifida. If that is the last ounce of blood they draw for awhile, I'll be happy!!

Almost a month since I posted, acck! I'm a bad pregnancy journalerer Biggrin Sorry baby!

I've been to the doctor since then and we found out we were having a baby girl. I'm excited, but I really thought it was going to be a boy for DH's sake. I guess I had my mindset that way. I'm definitely getting used to the idea of a little girl. I know how they work, so I'm definitely a pro at having girls! Oh the hormones to come! LOL

Let's see, the U/S went perfect and my two kids were with DH and I when we went in. It took about 45 minutes as the tech looked everything over. The heart was good, the kidneys, the spine. She measured it all. Then we finally got down to the money shot and DH goes "that looks like a girl". The tech said, "yep, I think you are right!". I'm pretty sure he was in shock. When we left to go to the waiting room, DS busted out in tears. He said he was happy, but I'm seriously thinking he was overcome at the thought of another sister. DD was totally beaming, though! She was so happy that she gets another sister and not a brother!

I've been looking at bedding and stuff and a few names. We've kind of gone through a few names already, but we need to pull out the big list and look for sure.

I go back in 5 more weeks for a checkup and another ultrasound. They need to check the blood vessels in the heart because baby girl wouldn't stay still. She moves around all the time and we got a million poses from her. My little fashion model! We actually got about 10 u/s pictures, including the coolest of all 3-D pics where she was smiling. How cool is that? She's a happy baby already.

I was looking at little girl's U/S pics today and she looked so perfect in there. We got a spine shot, because she flipped around looking towards my back. I thought "Just look at her, how incredibly perfect is she already?". Her little toes are my fave. I love baby feets. Biggrin

I'm still not wrapped around the thought of having a girl yet. It hasn't sunk in. I'm getting closer to bonding with her, but it's been a slow process. I've really been having a hard time with DH lately and I don't know if I can handle much more. Unfortunately, our problems have been taking a front seat to enjoying this pregnancy.

Today is a much better day with DH. We talked a little bit last night. He's in a lot of pain due to his broken ankle (which will hopefully be corrected on Thursday with surgery), but he's always been a grump. It's just gotten worse the last few months with him hurting. He hardly helps me out anymore, but made a big effort last night. And he called me for no reason today. That was very very nice.

He used to do that stuff all the time, but work has consumed him and now his pain is consuming him. I want to be supportive, I do, but I feel like I've given all I can to help him and the family. I'm not supermom. I basically went on strike yesterday and he was running around like crazy. Can't help but giggle to that. But, he tried and he did well, even on one ankle. Poor guy. He did so well, trying to be nice to all of us. I'm sure it won't be the last time I have to be super bitch, but oh well.

Anyway......

We are going through names, we've nixed a few, thought of a few good ones. We're getting closer. I call her Doodlebug right now. Lol I am falling hard for this little girl and I'm so happy about that!

Oy, haven't updated in forever! 6 posts, wow, I suck.

Well, I'm getting closer and closer - only 11 more weeks to go. I need to make a list of all the things I've GOT to do before our baby girl arrives. I'll have to update and cross things off as I go. I've been working on a lot of stuff as we go, just need to finalize. I got her changing table a couple of weeks ago. This was handmade by daddy and his father 5 years ago and it's gorgeous.

1. Find a bigger house
2. Find a bigger car/van
3. Buy that darn cute Wendy Bellisimo outfit I saw in the BRU ad.
4. Get the rest of the baby's stuff:
(list goes here!)
5. Wash new outfits and put them in the changing table

We do have our name, it's going to be:

CHAYSE RILEY B.

Now I just need to work on those letters I bought to hang over her bed.

I go back to the doctor in about a week and then every week after that. I'm now 30 weeks and he wants to start cervical checks starting at week 32. I'm excited to go back every week. I need a break from work, it's soooo boring right now! I have 58 days until my maternity leave starts. Yippeeeeee!

57 days until maternity leave! Biggrin Today is really good - I got some good rest after staying up late with DH the night before. We watched BB8 after dark until 2 am. We haven't stayed up late in a couple of years! LOL

I told him we need to pack a bag before we go in to the doctor for my cervical check which is in two weeks. Just in case they send me up to L&D. I'm still counting on this baby being early, just hope she cooks a little longer. At least another 6 weeks, please Chayse! Biggrin

Here's a belly shot from two weeks ago - almost 29 weeks here?

56 days and counting until maternity leave!!

I did not sleep well at all last night. I could not get comfortable to save my life. I've been fighting a cold for a couple of weeks and still have a minor cough and the runny noses! But it seemed last night that my arms just ached when I tried to lay on my sides. My belly wasn't comfy. Couldn't breathe or get comfortable at all. It was terrible.

It didn't help that I went to bed upset, DH got upset (unfairly, IMO!) about disciplining one of the kids. So, I was not in the best of moods anyway. Then I woke up even more sad. I just don't get his attitude sometimes. I thought we were working on being a team then he blows up. We were doing so good when it came to communication. Ah well, he blew that good streak. We apparently had a miscommunication about what punishment was supposed to be given to my 10 year old but instead of discussing it with me, he freaks. I don't know why he couldn't stop and talk about it. Like he says, he's not a girl! LOL He gets upset, sometimes wrongfully upset and does this. It just pissed me off!!

Okay, enough of my vent! Now for some good news. Please think good thoughts that DH is able to get us a van. He says he has one coming Sun or Mon and that we will have it by then. I'm letting him handle this car situation! We drive an old clunker with no a/c right now. We have horrid credit and just don't want to fork over a ton of money for a down payment, so he's found one for us. I hope it works out!!

I also think that I may ask our lanlord if we can stay another year. We've been behind in the last year or so because of DH's two surgeries - so now that we are caught up I hope they will say okay. I need DS to go ahead and finish out his elementary school years at the same one. If we move into a bigger house that would be great, but I know that it'll mean he'll have to change schools again. I don't want that. So if we stay here one more year then I can just save our money and go ahead and move all the kids around to fit somehow and then start decorating the baby's and girl's room. We have a three bedroom, but will have 5 kids. So, I'm thinking of moving my son into the extra living area and put my oldest DD into her own room, then the baby and the toddlers in the other bedroom. It'll be tight, it'll be tacky having DS in the living room area - but we have no choice really!! Sigh.

I'll need to talk to DH and finalize, but I want to get started moving stuff around so maybe I can paint in the next couple of weeks. Chayse will be here early, I just know it. I need to get busy!

Well, we did it! This weekend we moved DD into the living area and now she has her own space and LOVES it. She's so happy. And I'm happy that my little girls will have their own princess room to share!

We are going to pick out paint this weekend hopefully after we get the old room cleaned out and just do it up pretty. I've never been able to give my babies a nursery, so this is exciting for me.

Patrick and I also went to a garage sale this weekend and found a flower pot full of wooden clothespins. Why is this exciting? Well, because I can paint them and decorate and then hang up a string along the wall and place the clothespins on the string for the girls to hang up their artwork and such. How fun! I love being creative.

I did over do it with moving stuff around, cleaning this weekend. I should know better. I was having major back spasms yesterday. They finally went away. I could not get comfortable sitting up or laying down. It sucked! But then later on, I felt better. So then I started cleaning me and Daddy's room. Yes, I'm a glutton for punishment.

On the upside, things are coming together in my house. It's hard to keep everything tidy with working and so many children. That's alright, I know it'll all work out for us. We are on our way.

Chayse was kicking me very low at one point yesterday. I don't know what the deal was, but it hurt. I don't know if she was head butting me or if it was feetsies!

Back to the doctor on Thursday for a checkup and then the next week I'll go back every week. Hoping that Chayse keeps baking in my big belly!! Biggrin

Oy, it's been a long week already and it's only Wednesday!

DH is still trying to get us our van we have been waiting for. I'm so worried it won't pan out. I am looking forward to having one and am scared. Oh well.

I have been really tired and feel miserable mostly. This heat is terrible in Texas. I do not have a/c in my car - hence needing the van - so driving home without a/c for 45 minutes each evening is starting to get on my nerves!

Yesterday I came home early and took a nap. I was so sleepy. I can't believe all the aches and pains I'm having in my third tri. I've felt so good in the last 7 months that this is surprising. Last night I got some cramps for hours on end. I figured out it was gas  I had beef and broccoli for lunch yesterday. I cannot believe how terrible it was. I kept waking up in the middle of the night in pain, turns out I really just had to let it all go and I'd feel better! How awful!

Anyway, much better today, just tired now. We had a baby shower for a gentleman and his GF at work today. Turned out so well. They had twin girls and he didn't tell anyone they were pregnant until she delivered. It was so sweet to see the baby's pics (they are in NICU still) and see them open presents. It was fun!

Not sure what we are doing this evening. I need to get something to cook for dinner. Hope dad got his paycheck today and that it's a good one. Biggrin
