Boo Boo Squared

Well......

Here I am! My name is Sandra (23 next week), married to Chris (26) and it is time for BABY #2! We have a daughter named Ella Marie who is 10 and a half months.
Here is a link to my first Pregnancy Journal with our #1 Babe
http://www.pregnancy.org/bulletinboards/showthread.php?t=12105
And here is a link to her Baby Journal
http://www.pregnancy.org/bulletinboards/showthread.php?t=85081

And here is proof of Baby #2!

DH has decided we should call him/her Boo Boo Squared - I'm not sure if it's entirely mathematically correct, but what the heck! DH's nickname for Ella is Boo Boo, and he was wondering what he would call the next one.....could he have another Boo Boo? So Boo Boo Squared it is.

I'm not entirely sure how far along I am right now, since my cycles have been so wonky. I gave birth last July, and got my first PP AF on January 27th. My next AF came 50 days later on March 17th. The next one came 39 days later on April 25th, which was my LMP. So.....I don't really know how long this cycle was, but I'm due SOMETIME between January 30, 2009 and February 11, 2009. I wasn't too sure if I should base it off my LMP or not, considering my cycle was so long, so January 30th is if I base it off my LMP, and February 11th is if I base it off my LMP taking a 39 day cycle in to account. I'm just going to have to wait and see my Dr!

So yeah, my ticker is set to some random date in between.

Anyways, I feel TOTALLY different this time around. I have to pee lots, but my boobs aren't sore AT ALL, and I actually feel a little nauseous this time around. With Ella I had NO morning sickness, and I haven't been sick yet, but I feel a little queasy after eating each meal.

We are VERY VERY excited for #2! As long as this pregnancy works out, the baby will be born at a perfect time - DH will have a week long break from school shortly after the birth, so that will be so great. When Ella was born he had a final exam 2 days later! He will also be graduating (YAY!) with his degree when #2 is a few months old, so he can get a full time job and provide for our family as it gets bigger (not that he doesn't provide now, I am a SAHM and he works PT, but we have to live off of savings for a while so he can get done with school) When he graduates we'll probably be moving to wherever he gets a job, so we'll get to have more room as well (we'll get a bigger house, or maybe a condo). The house we are in now is only 850 square feet and Ella and the baby will have to share a very small room until we move.

We haven't told anyone yet, which is VERY hard! Last time we told our parents the same day we found out! Since we see them a few times a week, it is hard not to say anything! DH wants to wait until after Ella's birthday (actually, he wants to not tell them at all and just have them notice a belly!) So I'll probably be 2-3 months by the time we tell them.

Well, Ella should be getting up from her nap soon, so I've got to get back to laundry!

Why is it that when you decide NOT to tell people important things they ALWAYS bring up the subject just to bother you! Today at work there must have been 3 times when someone said "So, it's about time for you to have another one, hey Sandra?" And seeing our parents is even worse......I had a dream last night that I accidentally told my mom. Couldn't remember this morning if it was real or not.......

Holy cow, I am SOOOOOO TIRED! I just managed to get in an hour and a half nap while Ella was napping......sigh......sweet relief......Yesterday I almost missed work because I decided to lie down on the couch for a few minutes......woke up 45 minutes later when I heard Ella get up.

I guess it may be confusing to be saying I was at work when I said before I am a SAHM.............
I work casually at the daycare at the gym I work out at. Most of the time I only work a few hours every few weeks, but for the month of June I am working about 8 hours a week. One of the regular girls broke her wrist, so there are lots of shifts available. I don't LOVE it, but it means I can take Ella with me and get out of the house for a few hours and sh can play with other kids, so it's OK. I surely don't like working twice a week though - my days feel WAY too busy! And I really hate it if work interferes with her naps.

Well, I don't work again until next Wednesday for 4 hours, and not again that week, so next week shouldn't be too bad. But next week is a busy one - our anniversary (3 years), my birthday (23).........

OK, so the point of this post was to say - I am TIRED! Pregnancy is kickin' in!

Not much new going on here -

I booked my first Dr's appointment for June 23rd. I'll be around 8-9 weeks then - and we'll hopefully book the first U/S so we can see how far along I really am and get a due date!

Yesterday I had a great birthday - I napped on the couch during Ella's morning nap, so that was nice.......extra sleep! It's just so hard not to tell people! A friend of mine who is pregnant came over to wish me a happy birthday and she was talking about her M/S and being so tired.......I was wishing I could tell her I am SOOOO tired for the same reasons! Plus with all our family stopping by and chatting, and we haven't even told THEM yet! We'll see how long I last.

I feel really really fat.....I can't tell if it is just a food baby, left over belly jelly from Ella, or I am starting to show! All I can say is I am glad I was wearing a loose sweatshirt last Sunday at dinner with the IL's because my belly was HUGE after dinner! I looked seriously 5 months pregnant.....

Here are some pictures - The first one I am trying to hold it in a bit, but the other one is a close up of that belly just hangin' out!

Getting anxious around here for my Dr's appointment next week - since I can't tell anyone about being pregnant, it doesn't really seems real yet - especially since DH and I tend to forget! I think once I have my first Dr's appointment, it'll seem a little more real and final. At any rate, I'm glad I've had no problems so far.....I miscarried once at about 7 weeks, but I seem to be doing good so far. Once I see my Dr. and get my first U/S booked, I think I'll feel a lot better. With Ella, it was all we talked about and thought about, but now we're so busy with life and with an 11 month old, that I tend to forget there is another baby on the way!

My appetite is totally wonky.....I'll be starving once minute, so I'll get myself a whole plateful of food, and 5 bites in to it, I'll be full. Then I'm hungry 2 hours later! I seem to remember this happening last time - but it's things like this you forget until they happen again - now it seems all too familiar!

I can't wait to tell our families. DH wants to wait until after Ella's birthday, so that she can have a whole year to herself with grandparents doting JUST on her (which really is nice - when we were trying to decide when to TTC, I originally wanted to wait until Ella was 1, so that she would have a year all to herself) So, if we wait until after her birthday, I'll be somewhere around 12 weeks (give or take a week, since I don't REALLY know how far along I am yet) So basically, when we tell our family, it'll be time to start telling everyone else too! With Ella we told our families right away at 5 weeks, then told everyone else around 12 weeks, once the first trimester was gone (especially since I'd already miscarried once).

It is going to be a busy summer - here is what we have planned:

July 26 - August 9 Ella and I leave with my family (mom, stepdad, and my two sisters) to go on a trip to the East Coast (Halifax, PEI) We'll be in Winnipeg for a few days before we fly out to do some visiting, then Ella and I fly back to Winnipeg after a week on the coast. We'll either fly home or DH will come pick us up.

August 25 - September 2 DH, Ella and I travel to Phoenix to spend a week at the IL's house there. We'll be relaxing, swimming in the pool and hanging out with the IL's.

I guess we'll tell our families before the East coast trip.

Rather uneventful of course. Got the pregnancy confirmed, got the lab order for all the bloodwork, and booked the first U/S. I'm very excited for the U/S which is on July 2nd, because then I can have an official due date! My cycle was so wacky that even though I know when my LMP was, who knows when I ovulated. Anyways, if we base it off my LMP it would be January 30th. We'll see how big little bean measures next week!

Tomorrow is my first U/S!

I am SOOOOOOOOO hungry all the time - I can't remember if it was like this last time or not! I eat a meal and an hour later I am starving again! I can barely make it through the night - I always snack before bed, and I wake up at 6 am hungry as ever! So I'm trying to eat more smaller meals throughout the day instead of 3 large ones.

It's starting to get HOT around here - we finally started up our small little A/C unit yesterday and it was HEAVEN! I am just remembering this time last year - I was 37 weeks pregnant and SWOLLEN and HOT and walking around in my bathing suit......LOL. Thank goodness I'll go through that part of pregnancy in December and January this time!

Anyways, I'm excited for the U/S tomorrow - I'll post pics when I get back!

Had my first U/S yesterday - but my scanner is being dumb, so I can't post pics. Sad

But, we have a due date! I measured right on with my LMP - yesterday I was 9 weeks 5 days, so baby #2 will be arriving sometime around EDD

January 30, 2009

It feels great to have a due date now - I just am getting even more anxious about telling people! Our parents and other people we talk to keep saying things and bringing up the subject of when we're going to have another baby.....basically we have had to lie SO many times now I can't count! They'll ask "SO, time for another one, hey?" and we'll be like "Yeah.......maybe......almost....."

BAH! I just want to tell people! Oh well, we've decided to let our families know the day after Ella's party, so on Sunday July 20th at dinner we can finally spill the beans! I'm looking for some creative way to tell - I can't decide. I don't want it to be too corny.

I'm not having ANY feelings about boy or girl.....but I think we ARE going to find out this time around. We booked my BIG ultrasound today - it's on September 12, 2008, and I'll be 20 weeks! So we should have a good chance of getting a peek at the 'goods'.

I had my physical today too - just blood pressure, etc. and I had my bloodwork all done. There shouldn't be any problems but he'll call me if there are. So now I sit tight for another month!

Only one more week of secrecy!!!

Finally, only one more week to hide my growing belly! Ella's birthday is on Thursday and her party is on Saturday. We'll announce the pregnancy to our families next Sunday. Woot woot! My sisters were with me 3 days this week and I was feeling so fat I had to wear one of DH's shirts around the house so my belly wasn't hanging out for all to see! I'm not really that big yet, but on my fairly small frame you can tell the pooch is getting bigger. So, only one more week of secrecy and then we can finally tell. I'll be 12 weeks.

I'm doing pretty well. Very tired - since my sisters were here I didn't really nap at all for 3 days - we had stuff to do, errands to run - so I'm worn out. Feeling great other than that though - no sickness at all, but Ella's poopy diapers make me WANT to vomit.......ugh. My gag reflex is working overtime, but nothing ever comes out!

It's getting hot around here, I think I'm going to invest in some nice flow-ey sundresses to wear - nice and cool and nice on the belly.

Thinking a lot about labor today........

One year ago today I went in to labor with Ella. My water broke at 1:30 pm on July 16th, and Ella was born at 12:20 on July 17th. Hopefully this time it isn't 23 hours long......................

I really can't complain about my birth experience last time. I'll do everything the same this time around. I want to be in a hospital with Dr's and nurses, and get lots of drugs and an epidural! Only thing I might consider this time is ask if they plan on doing an episiotomy. Last time they didn't and I tore in 9 different directions.........which did not make healing very much fun. I was sore for at least 10 weeks after. If having an inch or two incision will prevent that from happening again, I'll go for it. Getting a few stitches will be nothing compared to the 60 stitches I had last time. I didn't get to really spend time with Ella until after they had stitched me up, which took over 2 hours. So I'll make sure to mention what happened last time when I go to the hospital this time around!

It will be very different to have a winter baby this time. Ella was born in the heat of summer and wore nothing but onesies or just a diaper for the first few weeks of her life. It was hot and humid and sticky - at least for around here. It was probably 95 degrees. This time, Bean#2 will come home in the dead of winter. It'll be about -20 degrees and snowy and bitterly cold. I'm definitely going to need a whole new wardrobe even if it is another girl!

Anyways, enough reminiscing for now.

Yesterday we told our families (FINALLY!) about "Bean #2"! We had DH's family stop by our house on their way back out to the cabin after church. We were going to tell them that night out at their house (both my family and DH's family live in the same small town - we were going to stop by both houses) but they said they would be back at the cabin until tomorrow. So we had them stop by around 2:30 pm. I got Ella dressed up in her "Big Sister" onesie, and we brought her out to visit! I handed her right to my MIL, with the shirt full in her face........nothing. We visited for about 10 minutes and neither my MIL or FIL read her shirt! Finally, since the had only stopped by for a few minutes, DH said "Did you have a look at what Ella's shirt says?" They both paused to read it, and their eyes widened........."What? Really?" They were excited, and shocked to hear that we are already 3 months along! I said "I thought you might have noticed how fat I looked yesterday at Ella's party" and my MIL said "Well I was wondering, because I thought you were going to they gym - but you looked like you were gaining weight not losing it!" So that was DH's family down. Then we headed out to my family's house for dinner. We didn't even bother with a sweater - it was hot out and we thought we'd just see how long it took them to notice. I thought I saw one of my younger sisters reading it, but she didn't say anything. My mom was so busy getting dinner ready that she barely looked at Ella, and my other sister is such a ditz that I didn't expect anything from her! Finally after about 30 minutes, DH said "Hey Grandma, maybe you could take a break from making dinner to read Ella's shirt...." I lifted Ella up to her eye level and then it was my mom's eyes that widened........."No! Really?" and my sisters came in to the room saying "What? What's happening?" And Amy (the one who i saw read the shirt) said "I know" and Megan was still completely clueless. I said to her "what does it say on Ella's shirt?" and she said "I'm the big sister". "And what does that mean?" And my goofy 11 year old sister looked confused and said "I'll know as soon as you tell me!" LOL Finally we got the news out and everyone was excited. My mom was in awe that I've kept it a secret for this long - we've known since May 31st. We had fun - but both our families are so slow that no one picked up on it! I wonder if they would have noticed if we just let them go the whole evening.......

And here is a 12 week belly pic!

Well, Ella and I leave tomorrow for our big adventure!

On Saturday we leave for Winnipeg, Manitoba with my mom, stepdad, and two sisters. We're driving there - it'll take about 6 hours. We spend 4 days there (lots of family there) until we fly out on Wednesday July 30th at 7 am for Halifax, Nova Scotia. It's a 5 hour flight (but thankfully direct). Then we spend 5 days in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia until Sunday August 3rd, when we drive to Prince Edward Island (actually I think we're taking the ferry). We're in PEI until Wednesday August 7th when we drive back to Halifax. Ella and I fly out on August 8th back to Winnipeg (my family is staying an extra week). We'll be in Winnipeg until Chris can come pick us up - he'll arrive Saturday and we'll drive home Sunday. We'll be gone for 15 days and poor DH will be at home alone as a bachelor! He's in school right now.

I'm excited but also nervous - Ella certainly doesn't travel as well as she used to when she was little. We've been to Philadelphia and Cancun, but she wasn't so particular about naps and bedtime in HER crib then! We'll see how it goes! We're going to do lots of sightseeing, check out all the Anne of Green Gables things in PEI, and my family band has a gig in Annapolis Royal (the main 'reason' for the trip).

All I'm doing today is packing and doing laundry - we have to pack light since there will be 6 people in a minivan with all our luggage PLUS a guitar, Ella's stroller, and her riding in her MONSTROUS carseat. Ah! I'm not even bringing many diapers, I'm just going to buy some when we get there! But I do have to bring a can of formula (I decided not to switch to whole milk until after the trip since formula is so easy). Packing is tough - we're gone for 2 weeks, and I'm kind of right now in the stage where my regular clothes are getting tight but maternity looks a little funny! I think I'll just pack maternity and be comfortable.

Anyways, I'll be back in 2 weeks with pictures!

UPDATE on Life, Ella Bella, our East Coast Trip, and Bean #2

Hi all! I swear I never want to go away again, it is just so daunting to come back and try to catch up and get back in the Pg.org groove. BUT, I leave again in less than a week for Phoenix, so I figured I should play catch up before I leave again!

Sooooooooo.........

1) Life. Life is good! I am tired and sick of the summer heat, especially wearing maternity clothes. DH is in the middle of finals right now and then starts school again right after we get back from Phoenix. He also got an assignment at church to be a seminary teacher - the youth of our church go to seminary every morning before high school (grades 9-12) at 7 am. It's basically a scripture study class. He is going to be the teacher starting in September. His little brother and my little sister are in his class! So we are in for a busy time. He is going to school full time, teaching every morning, and working overnight on Friday and Saturday. So Ella and I are making do on our own for a while. Good news is he graduates in April (lol, only to start the CA program immediately following)

2) Ella Bella. The little goober had her 12 month check up at 13 months. She was 21 lbs and 30.5 inches. She's starting to wear her 12-18 month clothes. She is still not walking, only crawling like a maniac and cruising like it's going out of style. She stood up for 19 seconds by herself last Sunday night! But she prefers to drop down to her bum and get around on her knees. I'd give her another month or so for walking, just because she's so comfortable crawling. She is starting to be a little bit of a monster - climbing on things, getting stuck in odd places - she can climb stairs and knows how to get off of the bed or the couch. She dances to music and loves to make funny noises with her tongue. Today I bought her a twin bed for when the new baby comes - she looked so ridiculously small on it in the store I almost cried. We're going to set it up this fall and give her a few months to get used to it. *fingers crossed* She is quite a Mama's girl (which annoys me but secretly I'm happy  )

3) Our East Coast Trip. Poor DH was lonely - 13 days all by himself. He said it was cool for about 12 hours and then it just sucked. He felt like he was a mute, he never had anyone to speak to! Well, we spent 4 days in Winnipeg, Manitoba visiting with my family there. Ella had another party, got tons of clothes, my stepmom took me maternity clothes shopping, and we visited a lot. Then we flew out to Halifax, Nova Scotia. We drove 2 hours to Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia where we spent the next 4 days - our family band had it's gig, we went to the farmer's market on the wharf, went and saw the Bay of Fundy, ate some fresh sour cherry pies and I ate half a scallop. (I don't eat any fish or seafood. I think my mom would have died if I went to the coast and never ate anything out of the sea, so I had a scallop. OK, half a scallop.) Ella ate so many blueberries I thought she was going to turn in to one! And OH, the blueberry diapers. I think I'm going to vomit. From there, we drove 8 hours to Prince Edward Island, across the Confederation Bridge, which takes an hour to drive across. On the Island for 3 days, we visited all the Anne of Green Gables sites in existence. (And if you don't know who Anne is I will consider you as someone with a deprived childhood.....lol, OK, no, but I'll take pity on you) We went to Avonlea Village, Green Gables, L.M. Montgomery's grave, the site of her home, walked through the Haunted Wood, and Anne-ed ourselves out. On our last day we saw "Anne of Green Gables: The Musical" in Charlottetown. Then we took the ferry back to Nova Scotia, drove in to Halifax, and I flew out the next morning with Ella, back to Winnipeg. Spent the night there and the next day, it was back home to Daddy! Here are a few pics of our trip. The people in the photos will be my mom, stepdad, two younger sisters, Ella and me.

Nova Scotia

The Confederation Bridge

Anne's Land

Yes, they even had dress up.....

And Gilbert Blythe proposed!

4) Bean #2. I felt little bean move for the first time last night! With Ella I didn't feel any movement until 21 weeks, but at almost 17 weeks, knowing what to feel for, little Bean #2 was squirming around! I'm doing great - just tired and hot, but no real problems. I have my BIG U/S on September 12th at 11 am. We had fun with Ella being a surprise, but I am excited to find out the gender this time. This fall we'll change Ella's room around, get rid of the chair and put the twin bed in there across from the crib. We're thinking of buying a double stroller while we're in Phoenix next week. My belly is getting big and noticeable. Here are some pictures.
12 weeks

15 weeks

Well......I hope that was catch up enough! I promise to stop Lurking and get back in the game! I've been a little distracted with watching Grey's Anatomy online all week - I decided to watch all the seasons again before Season 5 starts at the end of September Biggrin I know, I'm a goof.

Thanks for reading!

Today is the day - finally a vacation with DH this summer! He's at school right now writing his last final. He'll be home by noon, we'll cut the grass, take the garbage out, do the dishes and tidy up the house. I've got one last load of laundry in that needs to be packed.
Then tonight we fly to Winnipeg, stay overnight, and tomorrow morning we fly to Phoenix via Denver. Once in Phoenix, we're staying at the IL's new house down there for a week. We'll do some swimming, take in a ball game, and do some shopping. I told DH he wasn't allowed to bring ANY textbooks (he wanted to bring one of his new textbooks for next semester and start reading it) and he isn't allowed to think about school.

I'm in need of a break too........we've got a rather rough next day with all the flights, etc, and Ella JUST caught a cold overnight. BAHHHH!!!!!! I didn't sleep last night for more than 20 minutes at a time until 4 am, when I got to sleep until 7 am. Tomorrow morning we have to be up at 3 am to catch our 6 am flight, so I thought I'd get a good sleep in last night......but no. DH had to sleep so he could do well on his test, so I was up ALL night with Ella's coughing and sneezing and not breathing. Plus I can't nap today because I have to finish packing. We leave for the airport at 3:45 pm today.

Anyways, I'm off until September 2nd (maybe the 3rd by the time I get on the computer). Miss you all!

Well, home safe and sound - and SO glad we went!

As you might remember, Ella caught a cold the night before we flew out. I was so distraught about her flying with a cold - there was no time to see a Dr. and her nose was running like a fountain. Well, we made our first leg of the journey - from Regina, Saskatchewan to Winnipeg, Manitoba (a 50 minute flight) on August 25th. Ella SCREAMED during the descent and landing - she would not drink her sippy or suck on her soother to help her ears, and I felt like the most irresponsible parent - I thought I was going to blow out her eardrums. Finally we got on the ground and my dad picked us up and took us to the hotel (he had house guests so we couldn't stay with him). We ordered pizza and tried to put Ella to sleep in the play pen at the hotel. We put her down around 9 pm. By 2:30 pm she hadn't slept for more than 20 solid minutes. She was in and out of our bed, tossing and turning like she had a stomach ache. We decided we weren't going to go on our trip. We had no cancellation insurance, and Dh called the airline to see if there was any chance they could give us a flight the next day or something - but we booked our flights with Aeroplan and they didn't open until 7 am. Our flight was scheduled for 6 am. I was so utterly depressed, but I didn't want to be a bad parent and put Ella through 2 more flights the next day when she couldn't even sleep through the night.

THEN, around 2:30 am, she was lying in her playpen and she let out the LOUDEST fart I've ever heard. Within 2 minutes, she fell fast asleep. DH and I lay in bed and killed ourselves laughing (as silently as we could). We decided just to go to sleep and see how she did (even though we were supposed to be up at 3:30 am for our 6 am flight). We slept in (on purpose) until 4:30 and then made a last minute call - we decided to go! Ella seemed much better and her nose wasn't running at all any more. She was GREAT on the flights - tired obviously, but she did nap on both flights. Well, we made it to Phoenix, via Denver by 9:20 am Phoenix time. And the fun began!

As soon as we got to the IL's house in Johnson Ranch/Queen Creek area, Ella immediately tried to jump in the pool as soon as she saw it. So she went for a swim with DH while MIL and I made her lunch. Then she ate and went straight to sleep for 2 hours, PLUS 2 more hours that afternoon PLUS bed before 8 pm. Poor little bean, but she was in very good spirits. Anyways, Tuesday we just rested and toured the house. MIL and I went shopping and bought a play pen, a high chair, etc for the house for Ella to use when she's down there (and SIL's baby Jaxson).

Wednesday we went shopping at the outlet mall - I bought myself 2 pairs of shoes since I couldn't buy clothes (other than maternity, which I don't need) and DH bought some clothes as well. Ella got some cute little shoes too, and some CUTE clothes from Children's Place.

Thursday we hung around the house for most of the day, swimming and watching movies. Then at night we went to Rawhide - and old western theme town. It was dark out and 110 degrees (I almost died) Ella went on a train ride, got scared by the gun fights, and DH rode the mechanical bull. MIL and FIL bought Ella pink cowgirl boots and a pink leather vest. I think she will be a cowgirl for Halloween this year! There was a HUGE storm that night - we got lost driving home (FIL decided to try a new route - in a torrential downpour - it took us 90 minutes to get home instead of 50 minutes).

Friday we went to the Mesa Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (our church). Then FIL, DH and I went to a D' backs game.

Saturday we went to Canyon Lake and rented a pontoon boat - Ella's first boat ride! She looked hysterical in her life jacket. We had a great time on the lake! Then MIL went shopping again in the afternoon and got Ella some super cute outfits from Kohl's. That night DH and FIL went to an ASU game and we had a girls night - ordered pizza and watched chick flicks.

Sunday we went to church and had afternoon naps! It was a relaxing day. Another HUGE storm that night.

Monday was home time! We had a nice swim and tan in the morning then flew off to Winnipeg via Denver. Ella was really quite good on both flights despite being quite tired. Once in Winnipeg we slept the night at my dad's house and caught our flight to Regina this morning. And here we are! We got home at 8 am and DH stated school at 10 am. And we're back to life as normal.

We had good weather in Phoenix - it wasn't sweltering and 115 every day like it had been the week before. It was around 100 and the evenings were quite nice for swimming at about 95 degrees. I think I would have DIED had it been as hot as it normally is. But, we arrived home to find FALL instead of summer! It is rainy and only 50 degrees today at home. Gross. Now I'm VERY glad we went!

OOOOOHHHHHH! I almost forgot! Ella took her first steps! At the airport on August 25th, she took 3 steps all by herself! Then throughout the week she tries it every now and then - I think her most is 6 steps in a row. Anytime now she'll take off!

Anyways, enough blabbing on, here are a few pics!

First, some pics of the house. It's a beautiful house - DH and I want to go live there! Once he's done school and starts his accounting program we might try out a transfer to Phoenix for a year. We could stay in the IL's house with no rent. It has 4 beds, 2.5 baths, a pool, kitchen, dining room, tv room, and living room.

Well, almost 19 weeks now! Here is a belly pic from about 17.5 weeks - time for a new one!

I've been feeling pretty good but I've been way more dizzy and nauseous this time. I was trying to cook some bacon at the stove and couldn't stand up long enough to finish it - I got really dizzy and felt ill. Not from the smell, but from standing up. Also I've got some pain in my ribs and my back - I remember the rib pain from last time but my back is just KILLING me now! I don't remember that at all. And I'm not even half done! But I'm still in good spirits, and I love being pregnant and watching my belly grow!

The U/S is next week! I can't wait to find out PINK or BLUE!

Ugh. 2nd Tri morning sickness has found me. WHAT? I've never been sick AT ALL before during pregnancy - this one or Ella's. And this morning my breakfast and dinner came up and got flushed down the toilet. BLAH.

And I've got so much to do today - laundry, grocery shopping, tidy the house, choir tonight - and I feel like poop. Well, I feel a lot better since I puked, but still not great.

I really feel like eating a nectarine, but I don't know how my stomach will feel about that.

BLUE!

I'm a little scared to have a boy - I don't know anything about little boys! I had two younger sisters who were much younger than me so I know all about little girls, but little boys make me nervous! LOL
Now I've got to go out and buy a little boy outfit!
I am excited to have a boy, just a little scared!

The U/S went well. Baby Boy is nestled up along one side of me, lying on his stomach with his head turned to one side. He picks his nose a lot (either that or he does a lot of thinking and likes to tap his head) He waved hello to Ella when she came in the room and up to see me on the bed. He is DEFINITELY a boy, although he only let us glimpse it once or twice. At one point I had to wipe myself off and get up to go for a walk in hopes that he would move to a different spot - he is so snuggled in against the side of my uterus that the tech couldn't get any heart measurements. It worked though, and she got some quick before he snuggled back in to his corner.

So, that's our last U/S, and the last time we see Baby Boy until he comes out! The due date stayed the same. His HB was 154 when he was working up a sweat kicking my bladder. He weighs 10 ounces.

Of course when I was at Walmart tonight I had to buy a little blue outfit! I got a 5 piece set: sleeper, long sleeved onesie, pants, hat and bib. It's red, white and blue, and has cowboy hats on it! Smile

I'm still feeling nervous about having a boy, but I'm getting excited!

Some potential boys names.......

DH likes:
Alec
Carson
Edmund

I like:
Emerson
Finn
William
Parker
Kimball
Theo
Jacob

and some 'maybes'
Hiram
Jeremy
Micah
Paul

The 'maybes' I'm thinking more for middle names and such. DH said he doesn't mind the ones on my list, but he likes his 3 the best - which is funny because his 3 are the ones I like the least! This might take us a while......

DH thinks it would be fun to have a 'draft' for this baby's name choice. Once it's born he seriously wants to put all the names up on a whiteboard and have an NHL draft for eliminating potential names. What a crazy guy.

Well, I had my 20 week appt yesterday with my GP. BP and all the measurements were perfect, but he told me we have to have a repeat U/S.

The U/S tech wanted to see me again at 30-32 weeks. He said there was an 'incidental finding' during my scan - something to do with the placenta. My GP said it was nothing really to do with the baby, but just something they wanted to see again with the placenta. So.....now I am a little weirded out - I guess my Dr didn't seem too concerned so i shouldn't be, right? Maybe I should just call and see if I can get some clarification as to what it exactly was.

SO I have another U/S booked for December 2nd, at 32 weeks. It'll be nice to see baby again, but I just hope nothing is wrong.

Also my Dr is going to get in touch with my OB and set up my first appt around 30 weeks. So I have one more appt with my GP, and then I'll see the OB.

I'll also get the lab requisition for my GD test next appt.

So, everything was fine, but I'm just a tad nervous about the extra U/S. I'll just have to relax and wait and see.

Time is ticking along! I'll be 22 weeks tomorrow! Only 18 to go.

I'm feeling pretty fat - having a hard time putting my runners on when I go to the gym to work out, and socks too. I was pregnant in the summer last time, so I never had to worry about not being able to reach my feet to put on socks, since all I wore was flip flops! Thankfully I'll only have to worry about socks and not shoes this winter - all my shoes and boots are just slip on - no laces! That was fortunate.

So I've been going to the gym 2 times a week - we're paying for my membership and I felt so bad having not gone in a few months. Now at least I'll be going 8-10 times a month and getting some use out of the membership. Plus, it gives me an hour away from Ella to just read a magazine and have a clear head - and she loves it in the daycare. I've been taking it easy, just using the bike, the treadmill, and then doing prenatal workout on the yoga ball. I found some good exercises online. At least I'm getting my heart pumping, and strengthening some muscles in prep for labour. I really didn;t exercise when pregnant with Ella, and although I didn't have too much trouble getting the weight off, I know it will be harder after this time! I still had leftover belly jelly from Ella when I got pregnant with baby boy, so I've got to work that off after too!

My ribs hurt. Ouch. I have really bad posture and I slouch so they get all squished up between my boobs and belly. Now that I think of it, I DO remember my ribs hurting last time - but it's the type of thing you forget until it happens again.

On a sad note, my heart is breaking for another woman on Pg.org - she was only a few weeks behind me, due in February, and she lost her little girl this week. She was born at 19 weeks, and weighed not even a pound. All I can do is cry and rub my belly - that poor woman. My heart goes out with thoughts and prayers for her family.

22 week belly pics! Also sporting some new maternity clothes - I LOVE these jeans and this top - I think I should just wear maternity even while not pregnant. So comfortable.

Ta da! My baby boy bump!

Goodness, my ribs are SO sore all the time now. And I've been getting a lot of heartburn, but the kind just below your throat. It sucks. But I'm still loving being pregnant!

A friend of mine is a month ahead of me, due around Christmas. Unfortunately, her baby does NOT want to stay in. He's been trying to get out for a while now. Two weeks ago she spent the week in the hospital. She was bleeding and contracting all week long. They released her over the weekend, but she was back in there by last Tuesday. Now they're saying she's there to stay - on complete bedrest, only allowed to go pee and bathe, and she's not leaving the hospital. Poor girl. It's her first baby and it just seems that pregnancy does NOT agree with her body. Hope her little man stays put for at least 2 more months.

I can't believe I'm 5 months pregnant now (well in 2 days) - only 4 more months to go! And Christmas is less than 3 months away. Time is just going so fast!

Here comes yet another day - yesterday was long and tiring. Today I just have a bit of shopping and then a church activity tonight (I'm a youth group leader) so that's not too bad.
Plus, today is one of my 'dishes' days but my sister was babysitting last night and did all my dirty dishes! So I'm off the hook today. We don't have a dishwasher, and I HATE doing dishes, but I've gotten a lot better - they used to sit on the counter for days and get all gross (OK, this is embarrassing) but now I do them every 2nd day.
And no gym today either, since I worked out yesterday, so I'm going to take it easy today.
My ribs are just KILLING me! Only on my right side, as usual. What is up with that? Ouch.
Baby Boy is moving around tons, especially when I'm trying to fall asleep (maybe I should stop trying to sleep on my belly....LOL) No, I don't sleep on my belly, but I sleep on my side with one leg up so that my belly is all nice and snuggled in to the mattress.....he's probably going to run out of room soon!
I was never a belly sleeper before Ella - but then when you CAN'T sleep on your belly, it's all you want to do, so as soon as she was born, I started sleeping on my belly! And now I'm missing it so bad! Only 4 more months.

OK, wow, this was a totally random post about nothing.

Ugh, I feel like I'm in the first trimester. I'm so tired! Yesterday I was just exhausted after taking Ella to the park, when she went down for her nap I just zonked out on the couch for 2 hours. Of course even though it was a much needed nap, I still felt like poop afterwards. You ever notice how you feel like a train ran over you when you nap in the middle of the day - it's like you SHOULD feel better, but you actually feel worse.

The OB called yesterday to set up my first appt with her. It's on December 4th - so not until 32 weeks. But she wanted to wait until after my next U/S on December 2nd. So I guess I'll see my GP mid October, then again mid November, and then U/S and OB beginning of December. After mid November I should be on 2 week appts.

I'm still wondering about this next U/S - obviously if they wanted to check something SERIOUS out, they wouldn't wait until December, so I guess I shouldn't worry. I just hope there's nothing wrong. And my GP did say it was nothing wrong with the baby, it was just something to do with the placenta - but what? I'll have to ask him again at my next appt, which is on October 14 - so less than 2 weeks.

I can feel my uterus getting bigger and bigger, and baby is kicking higher and higher! Almost up to my ribs now. Baby boy is moving around A LOT, which is comforting.

I'll probably get my lab requisition for my GD test on the 14th - I'll be almost 25 weeks then, so I'll have a few weeks in which to do my test. Have to get a babysitter for that one - no way I'm bringing Ella to sit in the lab for an hour and wait while I get blood drawn!

Well, I'm past 23 weeks now! I'm feeling pretty good - I'm just tired. No one knows tired like the pregnant mommy of a toddler.

I'm excited that we've planned our Christmas holidays! We're going to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my family (mom, step dad, and 2 sisters). We'll spend the night down the street at DH's family's house since they'll be away over the holidays and have an empty house. Then we can go over on Christmas morning and do all that fun traditional stuff - stockings, brunch, presents. We'll spend those 2 days with my family, and then on Boxing Day (Dec. 26 for you Americans who don't have Boxing Day!) we're going to fly to Winnipeg to spend some time with my family there (dad, his girlfriend, grandparents, stepmom). It's only a 50 minute flight, but we're using our points to fly so we don't have to spend 6 hours in a car - I'll be 35 weeks pregnant when we go. We're going to stay for 5 days, so we'll be flying home before I hit that 36 week mark and can't fly anymore!

Feeling oh so large lately - it's getting harder to bend down, put socks on, tidy up toys, etc. Today I dropped an entire tub of yogurt on the floor, it opened up and spilled everywhere all over the dining room floor! But poor DH had to clean it all up since I couldn't bend down that far! I'm such a klutz - even when I'm NOT pregnant, but it seems to make it worse!

I bought a snowsuit for Baby Boy this past week, but I think I might have to find a different one. When I bought it I thought "Oh, 0-9 months, that'll be fine, it'll just be really big when he's born" but afterwards I thought about it and he'll only be 3 months by the time winter is basically over! So it'll be super huge the entire time, I might lose him in there somewhere! Maybe I can find a smaller one. I have a 3-6 month one from Ella but it's PINK....LOL. And I have a white one, but it's 6-12 months, so it's just as huge. Maybe I can find a 0-3 or 0-6 month one in blue this week.

OH MY GOODNESS, I looked at double strollers this week - I think I'm going to feel like I'm pushing a school bus. They are SO big! But I don't want to get one of those sit & stand ones that are smaller because I want Ella to have her own proper seat. I know she wouldn't just chill out in the sit and stand and behave herself! This is the stroller I want:

But first of all, it's 50 dollars more expensive in Canada than in the US, and plus I can't find the color I want up here. All they have is the black and silver one. And I like my green. I'm silly about that....LOL. I was thinking about buying it off amazon.com and having it shipped to my IL's house in Phoenix when they go down there at the end of this month. I'll have to see.

Anyways, Ella's up from her nap - since when does 40 minutes constitute a nap? More like a short doze......:(

Had a Dr's appt today. Rather uneventful as usual. I got the lab requisition for by glucose test, so I think I'll do it on Saturday when DH can watch Ella. Then he's calling to schedule my shot at the Women's Clinic for being Rh negative.....can't remember what it's called. SO I've got that to do in the next few weeks too. I'll see my Dr. once more in mid November and then see my OB on December 4th - then it's 2 week appointments!

I hope my OB appts don't conflict with our Christmas trip to Winnipeg. They kind of just schedule them for you, since my OB is so busy, so I hope I don't have to try and reschedule any. I should be fine. I'll be having an appt the week before Christmas, and should have one 2 weeks later - I get back on the Wednesday of that week, so I hope the appt is Wed-Friday sometime.

I'm feeling pretty good - sore ribs and all. Man, they hurt! There is NO comfortable position to sit in, they still hurt every which way I twist. But hey, by Halloween, I'll be 6 months along and two thirds done! Woot Woot!

Oh gee, I still have to find a Halloween costume for myself. I want to incorporate the belly somehow, but I don't want to go overboard. There's that whole "I've got a bun in my oven and DH is the baker" idea, but I don't want to walk around wearing a box for my oven! I thought about maybe wearing green and being a pod of peas - with a light green belly poking out of a darker green sweater or something. But then what would DH be? A carrot?

Anyways, got that to think about now!

For the past few days I've been noticing some BH contrax. I never really had any with Ella until the very end, but they've started up already this time. Not painful or anything - I actually can't even feel them, I just notice that my belly is really hard from time to time. My uterus just feels tight. Or maybe its just that I know what they feel like this time around, so I've noticed them earlier - who knows.

I can't believe how big baby is - I can feel him kicking ALL over, and when he stretches out, he can kick and punch me on both side - from hip to hip! There is so much movement this time - at least much more than Ella moved early on. She was a pretty good wiggler though, once the date got closer - she used to kick at the monitors and U/S techs to try to get them to leave her alone! Especially when I was in labor - the nurse was trying to hook me up to the fetal monitor, but Ella kept pushing it off and moving away! It took her a good 30 minutes to find a good heartbeat on it! I have a feeling this LO will be the same.

Going today to find a new snowsuit for baby boy - exchanging the other one I bought that will just be WAY too big. Also I've got to find Ella some more winter clothes. Hopefully there are some deals at the mall.

Oh, I thought of another name I like for Mr. baby. Eli - I really like it, but then I thought - Eli and Ella? Is that too weird? I think maybe they are too similar.

Well, I bought a new snowsuit for baby boy! Here it is:

It's 0-3 months, which will be just perfect. it's nice and soft, and not as bulky and huge as the other one. So there! He won't freeze on his way home from the hospital!

I went to BRU today and test-drove that double stroller I want. It's ENORMOUS and feels like I'm driving a bus, but the only other option really is getting a sit and stand - and I do NOT think that will be a good idea. Plus, for a sit and stand, you're paying like $200 and you don't even get a proper second seat, you just get a cushion on a flat little place on the back. And I'll NEED to be able to strap both kiddos in, I can't be chasing Ella all over the place. So, I really liked it - it was big, but there's no way around that. It handled really nice, and they even had it in the color I want! It's $299......sigh. Guess that's where all our Christmas money will go to......after we buy a new fridge. But, I'm glad I found the right color in Canada, and overall I was happy with how it looked and felt in the store. So I think that's a go.

I swear, this baby is HUGE! I feel like he's going to burst out of my belly button any moment.....my belly is so stretched and sore.....and I still have over 3 months left! My back is staring to hurt - not my lower back, but right in the middle, at the same level as my rib pains. Bleh.

I've been thinking of all the things I still need.....really not much, once I get the stroller, but the fact still remains that I have hardly any boy's clothes. I have bought one five-piece set (sleeper, pants, onesie, bib and hat) and his snowsuit. I think it's time to go through Ella's things and find all the unisex stuff. I know I have lots of sleepers, so he'll be fine for the first while - it'll be wintertime, and sleepers will be nice and cozy. I do want to get a cute church outfit though - even as a newborn, I REFUSE to take my babies to church in pyjamas. Silly me.

So, I went through the unisex baby clothes I have yesterday - and really I think I'll be fine for a while. I've got about 9 sleepers that he can wear, and about as many onesies. Obviously the onesies will be too cold, but they will be good for layering. For the first few weeks anyways we'll mostly be lounging around the house (other than church) and so sleepers will be fine. Then within the first few weeks, my family and DH's family will probably buy him some new clothes like they did for Ella. Heck, Ella got so many new girly clothes while I was still in the hospital! So I'm sure we'll be fine. But I should maybe keep my eye open after Christmas for any super deals I see on newborn boy stuff.

So, I'm feeling better about clothes, it's not too urgent. And I talked to DH about the stroller and watched as his jaw dropped at the price - he asked me if it had a dvd player included or something.....LOL. But I told him I'm willing to spend my Christmas money towards it (we usually get money from his grandparents, etc) So we'll see. I'll have to watch out for any sales. Fat chance at BRU.

I'm starting to feel more 'appendages' sticking out now in my belly - rather than just movements in general. Right now for instance I think I have a heel in my belly button. Or maybe an elbow.....

Well, went to the dentist today :violent2: I hate the dentist! I was supposed to go during the summer but we had no insurance until September. Obviously they couldn't do x-rays so I just had a cleaning and not a full check up. But I do have to go back in December to get one filling redone that fell out last week. I'm a little apprehensive about going to the dentist during pregnancy, but I have a hole in my molar that needs to be filled, so..... Then they can do the check up and x rays at my next appt in 6 months, after baby is born.

What really sucked about the dentist was lying on my back! Baby did not like it. Probably that combined with how stressed out I was in that chair (my sensitive gums were making me cry) made poor little Mr. quite jumpy. I think we were both glad to get out of there!

I can't believe I'll be 26 weeks tomorrow! Only 14 to go, and PLUS today is 99 DAYS! I'm in double digits! Tomorrow everybody on the January board will be in double digits! I can't believe how fast it is going.

26 weeks! 14 to go...

Baby Boy is just CRAZY! He is constantly doing gymnastics in there! Every night it takes me FOREVER to fall asleep because he is so squirmy! This morning I sat on the couch and watched my belly jump and wriggle uncontrollably for a good ten minutes! I think I've got a lively one on my hands!

I should be taking a new picture today....I've been kind of doing every 2 weeks, but that would mean getting dressed......hmmmm......maybe not. Or maybe later when DH is home.

Baby was kicking Ella today when she was snuggling during our TV shows this morning. Ella didn't seem to care - just wait until he's out and then I'm sure she'll kick up a fuss!

So I was working last night (at the gym daycare). I usually work once a week for 4 hours. Anyways I basically told them my schedule for the next while - I'm going to work Thursday evenings for 4 hours for the rest f October (one more week), all through November (minus one where I have a choir dress rehearsal) and the first 2 Thursday's in December. After that I said I want to take a break for the holidays, then I'm going out of town, and then it'll be January and I don't want to leave my house! So I've only got about 6 more times at work. I don't think I'll go back after - I did work when Ella was little and just wore her in my sling when I worked, but with two kids of my own PLUS all the other daycare kids I think I would get stressed out. So I'll just take it easy with my new little babe for a while.
I'm probably going to get a part time job next fall. DH will be at his new job then, but we're thinking I could work Saturdays and maybe one night a week to help pay off the student loan. I don't think I'll mind - maybe just at Walmart or something - then we can get 10% off and buy our groceries there or something! And Chris can stay home with the kiddies.

Oh jeepers, Ella is going to be up from her nap soon and I haven't tidied up the living room yet....gotta go!

Phew. I'm kind of glad I get to have another U/S in December - this baby feels SOOOO big! I'm wondering how big he'll be, and it will be nice to have an idea of how he's growing!

I did my GD test yesterday - yummy orange pop on steroids (that's what I think it tastes like!) and sitting for an hour doing nothing. My Dr. said he'd call if there were any problems, but I don't think there will be. Since DH is diabetic, we check my blood sugar occasionally with his monitor and I'm always perfect. Next appt is on November 18th, and then I'm every 2 weeks!

I realized I haven't put new belly pics in here for a while, I just put them in my January space and forget to put them here! Hang on.....lemme see......

I'm TIRED. DH and I raked the lawn today - we had snow a few weeks ago but it all melted, but the time is approaching where it may snow again and STAY for GOOD, so FINALLY all the leaves fell off our trees out front and it was worthwhile to rake today. I hate it in the spring if it hasn't been raked and you get soggy old leaves. So, hence being tired. I swear, I did 2 small piles and DH did about 4 big ones, but I was POOPED! Then my tummy kind of hurt, so I took it easy for a while and read a book.

Ella is getting SO heavy to carry up the stairs! I don't know how much longer I'll be able to do it! She can go up and down stairs by herself, but she needs to be supervised, and really she just wants to play on them, so it takes FOREVER to get up or down. I think I may need to focus on teaching her to do stairs better because I don't think come January and 9 months pregnant I'll be able to do it! She's not really that heavy, she was 21 lbs at her 13 month appt, and probably only an extra pound or so now, but I am getting SO tired. I have to sit down on her bed and rest once we get up there!

I had to buy a new maternity shirt yesterday - I need long sleeved black for my choir concert in a few weeks and all I have is short sleeved. I used to have a little long sleeved black shrug that I could wear on top (and since it was a shrug it didn't matter about the big belly, it only went to just under the bust) but I can't find it. I lent it to my sister back in March and I think she forgot to give it back, but she says she did......teenagers

So I went to Motherhood Maternity and bought a long sleeved black v-neck tee. I usually shop at Thyme Maternity, and now I realize why I do! I HATE Motherhood, everything there seems so cheap and ill-fitting after shopping at Thyme. But I didn't have the money for Thyme. I also found a shirt at Walmart in the maternity section for $17 dollars, but WOW the fit was HORRID! No wonder I don't shop maternity there either! The sleeves were too short, the belly was too loose, the bust was SO awkward, my boobs looked all lumpy.....LOL. I think I'll stick to Thyme in the future. BUT, I did find two cute dresses at Walmart - they were in the maternity section, but I don't think they really were maternity, they just happen to accommodate my growing belly really nicely! It's nice to have more options for church, I really only have one black maternity dress, and one jean skirt that is sort of too small. Plus, I can wear these after, and they are super cute.

OK......was this post about my pregnancy? Not really......LOL........sorry. Just blabbing on!

Yay! I'm almost 28 weeks and in my third trimester! (Although I disagree with this website and think third tri starts at 27 weeks, but I'll play by their rules Wink )

I'm so excited to be in my last tri. I feel ENORMOUS and whale-like, so now at least I feel justified in that respect! Things are going really well. I haven't had any problems with this pregnancy, just like the last. I really seem to get off easy as far as pregnancy goes - let's hope the labor and healing goes a little better than last time though! Actually, the labor wasn't bad last time, I really had no complaints, but I would really like to avoid so many stitches this time! 9 weeks of a sore bottom was not fun.

Really my only complaint is rib pain. It's still on my right side only, exactly th same as with Ella. Bizarre. Occasionally my back gets sore, but not often.

We brought the cradle in from the garage. Right now it's just on the landing upstairs, but we'll move it in to our room probably next month. Then I'll wash the bedding and get it all set up. It's the cradle that me and all of my siblings slept in, as well as my mom and all her siblings. Ella didn't care for it much and mostly slept with us in our bed, but I'm hoping little Mr. won't mind it.

It IS almost time to switch Ella over to hr big girl bed from the crib. I guess at the beginning of December I should start the transition, so she has all of December and January to get used to it. Then I can get the crib bedding all washed and ready for baby boy - although we are hoping to use the cradle for a while.

This means I ALSO have to get doors installed upstairs. When we renovated before Ella was born, we never put the doors back on the bedrooms afterwards. So upstairs you can just walk right from our room across the landing to Ella's room without worrying about doors to open and shut. However, that means the stairs are fair game as well - it's impossible to put a gate up to block the stairs because of how the walls are, so in order to put Ella in her big girl bed, we'll need doors on the bedrooms so she won't go down the stairs in the middle of the night!

Lots of things to do now! Time is running out!

Had my Winro/Rhogam shot today - or whatever it's called. Since I'm B- blood type I have to have it. Ouchie! I hate shots in my bum - they say hip, but really, that's my bum lady.

28 weeks today! Officially in my 3rd Trimester according to Pg.org Smile

I saw my SIL today (I dropped Ella off at her house for a playdate while I had my shot done at the hospital) and Ella's cousin Jaxson. He's about 7 months old. Anyways, she said she'd go through all her clothes and find me some boy clothes to pass on! I'm not sure when they're going to have more kids, but it'll be nice to have some cute hand me downs from Jaxson, at least for this boy. He's very well dressed Wink

Here's a 28 weeks shot:

HOLY COW! Are you sure there's only one baby in there?

I ordered my double stroller!
I got the Graco Quattro Tour Duo in French Roast. Miraculously, Toys R Us online now has it available (I could only find it in store before) and I had a 10% off coupon if I made a purchase online! Plus, they had free shipping for Graco! So all I paid was for tax - without all my deals, it would have come to about $350 with shipping, tax, and regular price, but I paid $296 in total! So I saved about $50, PLUS I don't have to worry about lugging the thing around myself from store to car to house - it'll be delivered to my door next week! So I'm really excited about that!
All we really need now is clothes, and I'm not worried about that at all. We'll make do with what we have - maybe I'll throw a "Meet the Baby" party after he is born - since I won't be having a shower this time, and all I really need is clothing - I just have to figure out how to throw a party for myself and not look tacky or greedy!
So, now we're all set basically - I have all the furniture and 'big' items I need like swing, jumper, bumbo, crib, change table, etc. and now I have the stroller! Ta da!

I think this baby has too many limbs.......he is constantly poking and prodding with some appendage or other! Everyone keeps joking about how I must have twins in there.......making me even more excited and anxious for the U/S on Dec. 2nd - I need to calm my fears of twins! LOL - but really, with 2 previous U/S, there's no way they could miss a whole other BABY, right?

So I've been having this pain in my hip/back on the left side. It started a few days ago out of nowhere - it feels like my whole 'love handle' area is being ripped apart from the inside out. I tried numerous positions to stretch and contract it, hoping to get some relief. It came and went all that day and the next. Yesterday wasn't too bad, I think it only started acting up once. I did find that standing up helps to make it subside. No idea what it is - a nerve, a muscle.....anyways, hopefully it stays away. I think maybe it's from sitting on my butt for too long! I'm on the computer WAY too much Wink

Can't believe I'm 29 weeks today! Only 11 weeks left! I remember being this far along with Ella and people at church kept saying "So, almost ready to pop, hey?" and I'd be like "Nope, 10 weeks to go!" Feels about the same this time! DH was talking to someone at church and they thought I was due this month.

Nope, just large as a house.

Had a Dr's Appt today -

Everything looks great. My belly is measuring nicely, my BP is perfect, I passed my glucose test with flying colors, and now I am on bi-weekly appointments! Oh, and my weight is now 153 lbs. I started out at 134, so I've gained 19 lbs now (I lost 4 lbs first, then gained 23 lbs) - I think I'm doing better on weight than last time around.

My next appointment is Dec. 4th with my OB. It's 2 days after my follow-up U/S on Dec. 2nd.

Can't believe how fast it's going! Today was my 30 week appt, all I have left is:
32 weeks
34 weeks
36 weeks
37 weeks
38 weeks
39 weeks
40 weeks

With Ella I never made it to my 40 week appt - I was in labor at the hospital! Let's hope it goes the same this time! The only thing that may mess up my appts is the holidays - but the way I have it figured out I'll have an appt the week before Christmas and the week after, so that should work out perfectly.

Today I sold our desk and bought a smaller one. We used to have the office upstairs, but when Ella was born, that room turned in to the nursery, so our desk is in our dining room. Not only is it a dining room and office, it also has all of Ella's toys - so it is a full room! When baby boy comes, I'll have to bring out all the baby stuff too (swing, jumper) so I really needed to organize the room better - hence the smaller desk. We have a huge L-shaped desk now, but a lady came and paid for it today. I bought a new corner desk at Walmart, so we should have room for all the baby stuff now! My friend is coming over tonight to hang out with Ella and I - I'm going to put her to work and we'll re-organize the room tonight before DH gets home!

Also, my double stroller came today! Ella LOVES it - I had it set up in the living room and she would NOT get out! She loves to sit in her seat and play with the cupholders - I think she likes how high up the seat is. She cried when I took her out of it to feed her lunch! Here she is testing it out:

Overall, a very busy productive day!

This beanie in my belly must be getting big! Now when I lie down on my back I can feel all of his body parts so close to the surface, his little bum sticking up in the air! I made DH feel him yesterday because he was so easy to feel - his little bum and spine just stuck right out! DH was grossed out  LOL. You'd think he'd be OK since he's already done this once before, but he got all creeped out by feeling this little man inside me.

I can't wait - only 1 week until my next U/S and hopefully I'll get some more pictures and maybe a guesstimate of how big he is now! I can't believe there are only 9 1/2 weeks left! Time is flying - I'm sure the last few weeks will drag on once we get in to January, but for now it seems so soon!

Here are my 30 week belly pictures!

I got my shower gift today in the mail from my birthbuddy Les27!

Everything is so cute and soft and cuddly! Little Mr. in my Belly got a fleece sleeper, a fleece blanket, two pairs of fleece pants, a fleece top, and the cutest pack of bibs! What's even greater is everything is blue and brown - the same color as the Robeez I ordered today! My kid is gonna be so stylin' and matchin'!

And here are the Robeez I ordered! I also ordered a Moby Wrap today!

I wonder what this boy is doing......
I've been having CRAZY movements lately, all WAY down low. I can feel little punches and bumps way down at my pubic bone, it's CRAZY how constant and weird feeling it is!
My Dr. said he was head down at my last appt, but I wonder if he shifted again? Today I felt two large round bumps (head and bum?) one on each side of my belly. Felt like he'd decided to lie sideways again. Not that I'm worried, there's plenty of time for him to turn back, but it was just bizarre! Not sure what on earth he's doing - using my cervix as a punching bag? Ow!

Last night we finally got our scanner to work! I guess we forgot to re-install the program after we re-formatted our computer last spring  So now I can share my U/S pictures! These are from our 20 week U/S back in September.
You can see how snuggled up little Mr. is against the side of my uterus, all nestled in a corner - the tech kept poking him and trying to get him out in the open for measurements, but he kept on sneaking back to the side to snooze. You can also see him waving hello to his big sister Ella! And scratching his forehead in deep contemplation....;)

Plus, now when we have our next U/S in 4 days I can scan new pics now too! Hooray!

Got my Moby today in the mail! BAH! A little bit intimidating, but I think I'll get the hang of it. I practiced tying it and everything this afternoon - can't wait to try it out for real! It's hard to know how tight to tie it - I didn't want to make it too tight so that he won't even fit in, but the thought of having to retie and tighten it once he's in there if it's too loose is daunting! It'll be fun to try though - plus I still have my pouch sling that I love, which is nice to use for newborns cause they just slip inside so easily.

My U/S is tomorrow! DH can't come, so MIL is going to watch Ella while I go - and actually depending on what time Ella gets up tomorrow, MIL and Ella might just come along to take a peek if Ella can wait a bit for her nap. We'll see.

Feeling very large now! Yesterday I took a picture (31 weeks 2 days) and was appalled at how huge this dude is - he sticks out SO far! Here I am:

I'm interested to see how he is positioned and how big he measures tomorrow!

Copied from my BB January 09

When I had my 20 week U/S they said they wanted to see me again at 32 weeks because of an "incidental finding" that no one would exactly tell me what it was......... My appt is in 30 minutes, I'm just on my way out the door!

I'm excited to see little Mr. again, and hopefully nothing is wrong.

Fingers crossed please!

*UPDATE*

Back from my U/S and all is well! Baby Boy is measuring 32 weeks 1 day - so about 4 days early (I'm only 31 weeks 4 days). He is approximately 4 lbs 3 oz and his HR was 163.

The 'incidental finding' they were following up on were 'Choroid plexus cysts". See article here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choroid_plexus_cyst

There were small cysts on either side of the brain on the choroid plexus. They normally disappear by 32 weeks gestation, and Baby Boy's are all gone! So there's nothing to worry about.
Kind of silly that they didn't tell me earlier, but I'm actually glad I didn't have to worry about brain cysts for 2 1/2 months! It was nice to only know about it for 30 seconds before she told me they were gone.

Thanks for the well wishes!

Well, I've been a bit neglectful. Things are so crazy busy right now! I can't wait for the holidays to start - ha ha, I guess most people get stressed out about the holidays, but I can't wait for them to come so things can slow down!

Ella has been pretty cranky lately - she's getting bored of being cooped up inside but it's so darn cold I hate to leave the house. I think we're going to try and go to the library every few days to have a change of scenery.

I had my 32 week appt last week. I was measuring 33 weeks and everything looks good. Next appt with my OB we'll do the GBS swab. And hey, I've now gained 20 lbs this pregnancy! I guess I'll top out around 30 pounds gained......much better than like, 45 with Ella!

Last weekend DH and I left Ella at my mom's for the weekend and drove 6 hours to a Sarah Brightman concert in Winnipeg. It was a good getaway, but ultimately very uncomfortable! Sitting on my bum for 6 hours in a car, then 3 hours in a concert, then the next day 6 hours in a car again! My big fat body took it pretty hard! But at least we had a bit of a break.

DH is deep in finals right now, he already had 3 this week and then he has 2 next week. Plus he is going away this weekend and leaving Ella and I by ourselves for Saturday and Sunday. It's going to be a crazy week. I've got a rehearsal on Saturday for the church Christmas program, Sunday I have to teach the Sunday school lesson, then we are having Christmas with DH's family at OUR house, then that night is the church Christmas program. And DH is gone through all of this!
Monday night I have a choir rehearsal, Tuesday I have a doctors appt and I have another choir rehearsal, Wednesday I have a choir concert, and Thursday I have a choir Christmas party - and DH is writing finals and studying. Our last day of bondage is Friday - DH's last final!!!!!!!!! That night he is letting me go out to my mom's house and spend the night so I can have a break and sleep in the next day!

And then the holidays begin! DH will actually be at HOME during the day! We're going to relax at home from the 20-23 and work on our wedding video (3 years later......) Then the 23-25 we're spending out with my family, and then the 26-31 we're spending in Winnipeg with my Dad and other family there. I'm looking forward to some help with Ella, good holiday food, and visiting with family!

Now if only my tired body can make it through the next week.........at 33 weeks pregnant.

I am SO SO grateful right now! We had our Christmas with DH's family yesterday, and SIL brought me the hugest MOTHERLOAD of baby boy clothes! She had a baby boy almost 9 months ago, but her little man is already wearing 12-18 month clothes - and she brought me everything that he is grown out of! There is an assortment of sizes, lots of 0-3 month, 3-6 month, and some 6-12 month as well. There must be 35 sleepers, 20 onesies, 20 pairs of socks, 5 pairs of shoes, 20 pairs of pants, 4 sweaters, 2 bathing suits, 5 hats, 10 rompers, and 5 pairs of overalls!

I am just in heaven! I went from having about 10 handmedown sleepers from Ella to having more clothes than I know what to do with! I am so so grateful! I know that SIL and BIL may have more kids and want the clothes back if they have another boy, but I think that is a few years down the road for them. I'm just so happy!

Now I just have to figure out where to put them all  since he'll be sharing a dresser with Ella!

Had another regular boring appointment today Wink for 34 weeks (I'm a few days shy of that, but it was my Dr's last day in the office before holidays)

I'm measuring a bit ahead again and baby is still head down. Heard the HB nice and clear through his spine on my right side - little feet kicking off to the left. BP is good......same old, same old.......

And I've gained 3 pounds so I'm up to 157. That's 23 pounds - I better slow down or the holidays will put me WAY up there with all that lovely holiday food!

And now I have until January 5th before my next appt, which is with the OB again. And I have an appt every Monday morning in January! Weekly! Bah!

My family Dr. today said "We'll see you in the hospital!" when he'll come to check on newborn baby boy! Time is flying!
