    Default Expectant Mummy

Found out yesterday that am pregnant with baby number 1!! Very excited. At the moment am only about 5 weeks, so I know lots can happen over the next few weeks. Am booked in to have first ultrasound to confirm heatbeat next week, so cant wait for that.

Told my mum and my partners parents tonight. Partners parents already have one grandchild, so were thrilled at the prospect of getting another.
My mother on the other hand is still very very much in shock, she doesnt think she is old enough to be a grandmother yet. Luckily she will have a bit of time to get used to the idea!

My partner and I on the other hand are very thrilled with the idea. Was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago and we therefore thought that it could take us years to fall pregnant, so hopefully this little miracle stays safe.

Only side effect so far is tiredness....so being 10pm now, am off to get some rest.

Well didnt get too much rest last night, still think it is sinking in that am going to be a mummy.....worked as a nanny for a few years and constantly look after my cousins baby, so will be weird to finally have my own.

Am dying to just tell everyone, but am a bit cautious about it.

Also is it normal to get a feeling similar to period pain every now and then in lower abdomen? Not too concerned as it isnt a 'pain' more like a feeling.

Well its now been a week since we found out that our little family is expanding. Only two days to go until we find out for sure if our EDD was quite accurate.

Back to the Docs again on wednesday, fairly positive am going to have to have yet another needle!! Original blood tests are back and require further discussion. Cousin who had a baby dec last year thinks I probably have a negative blood type (25 and still dont know my blood type) which apparently requires an extra needle.

Hate needles, but better get used to it, lots more to come I hear.

My grandfather has decided that I have to have a boy, as he is sick of being only one of three boys in a family of over 20 girls....so hope I can provide him with his wish...
