I am officially full-term now! This means that I will definitely give birth at the birth center except in the case of some kind of emergency. We went to our 37-week appt yesterday, and everything is looking great! At our next one, on Thursday, I'll ask to be checked. I've started the EPO capsules and walking already. I can't wait to see her beautiful face!!!
Can I just say I LOVE sales?? We went to BRU today, and got Nick a TON of clothes. He is growing like a little weed, so he's out of his 12 month clothes and onto 18 and 24 months already. We got him entire outfits for less than $3!! It was awesome. And of course, since my pregnant brain was in overdrive, I forgot to get him pants!! So now he has these cute outfits and shirts, but no pants to go with them. Thankfully he has some shorts and overalls to tide him over, but I'm definitely going to have to go back! We also couldn't resist picking Eva up some clothes - she got an outfit and a pair of pants for $4 each. Muahaha, love it!
I have a feeling that Eva is nowhere close to being ready to come. For the past week or so I have been feeling progress, but now I feel *nothing*. I am still seeing some plug every now and then, but my contractions have slowed wayyyy down. I don't feel anything strange at all, so maybe she IS going to wait till her due date! We shall see. Now that I'm done with my college semester, I am content to sit and wait for her. I have been getting increasingly uncomfortable though (pain, lots of pain!), so I don't know how much longer I'll feel this way!
I have a couple of projects I'm working on while we hang out and wait, so I think that'll make time a little more bearable. I think the worst thing to do is sit and wonder and obsess about when she might come. I've been preparing Nick for her arrival by taking him out to see other babies, but what's really funny is that while he's fine with little boys, little girls FREAK him out!! It is sooo cute, I have no idea what that's all about. We ran into the *sweetest* little 14-month-old girl the other night, and she made him cry! She just stared at him while he screamed, like, "What's wrong with you??" It was just adorable. Hopefully since Eva's going to be so small and unintrusive, she won't cause the same reaction!
I was right! I think baby girl here wants to be dramatic and make a later entrance than her big brother did! The midwife checked me today, and I am at a stretchy 1 cm, but still very, very thick. Baby's head is low, and my cervix is anterior and soft, so those are good things. But she said she definitely sees me being pregnant for another week! So I will most likely definitely get to 39 weeks, which I did not with Nick. BUT I am fine with that! It's actually nice that we can have Nick's birthday party this weekend without worrying about me going into labor.
The other great thing is that this midwife is THE gentlest cervix-checker in the world! I love it! Nick's midwife was some kind of sadistic whacko, and she always dug way deep into me and made me gasp and even scream in labor when she checked me. But this time it wasn't even uncomfortable, and this midwife was very slow about it. She made a point to tell me what she was doing, and told me to tell her if it hurt at all. I am so, so relieved! This definitely bodes well for us.
We've also decided to come up with a second set of names, just in case we decide baby girl doesn't look like an Eva. So far we've come up with a first name of Maya, but no middle name yet. Still working on that part. I really love Maya Kathleen, but DH doesn't like Kathleen. Maya is special because it's used in the U.S., and is also an Indian name. I think that would be really cool!
