November Mom To Be

I have put this off long enough, scared to jinx this pregnancy- I guess now is the time to start it. My name is Emily and I am 17 weeks pregnant today! I have been married to a wonderful man for the past 3 years, and we decided a year ago to begin our family. We got pregnant very quickly (first month of trying) but that pregnancy ended with a blighted ovum. After several long cycles of trying with no answers- we finally recieved the good news that I was pregnant again. This pregnancy began the exact same way as the m/c, so I was extremely nervous at the beginning. I started spotting 2 days before af was due, and believed af was on her way. But she never showed up. When I hit 6 wks 2 days I had a case of bleeding which devistated me- I just knew this was bad news. We went in the next week to the doctor expecting the worse, but got great news- everything looked great we had a bean and a heartbeat!! Here is a link to my ttc journal: http://www.pregnancy.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=301893

9 weeks- We went back to the doctor and saw the u/s again- What a beautiful sight to see our little bean growing and the heart beating so fast. We were so excited and finally told our family that we were expecting. Our next appointment was 4 weeks later- week 13 and we heard the heartbeat for the first time with a doppler. The doc said everything looked great- heartbeat was 152 (normal- 110-160)!!
Tomorrow we have another appointment- I am 17 weeks and am expecting the same thing at this appointment. I am nervous as I always am before appointments. I still have that feeling that something is going to go wrong- But am praying that this will be fine. I dont think I will ever get over that nervousness, but the further along I get the calmer and excited I have become.

I have gained a total of 8 pounds so far, even though I am not exactly sure of where it is going. My belly is growing slowly, but not enough to be 8 pounds. I started out at 133 and this morning I weighed in at 141. I laugh because I say that 2-3 pounds have gone to my bbs. I have gone from a 34B to a 36C (which for me is huge). I am taking belly pics every 2 weeks and will post a picture next Tuesday (today is my week off) I guess I am growing but I think it is going to other places besides my stomach (butt, thighs, and bbs)!!

So I am going to start posting here- with not only belly pics, tp measurements, milestones, but also my nervous rantings! Thanks for reading

Weight: 141 (8 pounds gained)
TP Measurement: 10 squares (started at 9)

17wks 1 day

Well today I had my checkup and it was another great one. They started the appointment off by calling me back and discussing my maternity benefits. They went over everything and I wrote it all down, but now I need dh to explain it to me. Clyde wants to talk to the lady next visit so he can get a better understanding of it all. I then went back to the waiting room, and waited another 20 minutes. Finally I was called back to the room, where they weighed me (143), so it looks like I have gained only 2-3 pounds since the last appointment (I weighed myself at home this morning and got 140 on the home scale- so that has me at 7-8lbs overall)

We then listened to the heartbeat, lil one was flipping around but heartbeat is still strong and healthy. I got the question about if I wanted to do a blood test to see if our bean has any abnormalities such as down's syndrome, spina bifida, etc. I decided not to do it, because not only would it not matter I wouldn't end this pregnancy either way, but I also dont like how many false positives it gives- I need nothing else to freak out about.

My big u/s is in 3 weeks from yesterday! I hope lil one cooperates!!

Not much going on pregnancy wise- still no movement yet (or at least that I know of). I feel like I have popped this week, but then again I am nost sure. I feel like my belly is poking out more then it did last week. YAY!!!

We are going out of town for the weekend. I am not really looking forward to it- we are going to a wedding for my dh's cousin. I have never met this guy, but I will know a large amount of family members there. I am flying up with Clyde's mom and brother- we are meeting Clyde in Michigan, and then heading to his dad's house for the weekend! YAY I get to sleep on an air mattress. Can you tell I am not excited about that. Hopefully I will be able to get some sleep.

I will be back on Sunday- hopefully by then I will have something more to report.

17w6d.

Well we are back from our trip. It was ok- we arrived in Michigan an hour late (our flight was delayed) so by the time we got to my FIL's house it was pretty late. Saturday we got up, ate breakfast, and drove 3 hours to the wedding. The wedding was nice, and for the first time I actually had a lady notice I was pregnant (she didn't even know me)! YAY, so I guess I am showing! We then drove back 3 hours back to FIL's house. Sunday we got up and drove to the airport. Long, busy weekend- but it was a nice wedding.

Yesterday Clyde and I went shopping, and I bought me some maternity blue jeans, shorts, and capris. I think I am good for now on pants, now I just need a belly so I can fit in all the handme down shirts I recieved. When we got home their was a package for us. We got some baby stuff from one of my aunts. That makes our count up to 2 rattles, 4 bibs, 4 dressing gowns, 1 footie pjs, and 2 recieving blankets. We are going to have so much stuff by the end of this especially since we haven't bought anything ourselves.

I weighed myself this morning and I am at 141 lbs- so it looks like I gained a lb last week- Total 8-9 lbs. Not too bad, everything I have read says you are suppose to gain 4 pounds the first trimester and then a pound a week for the second trimester. Since I am almost 18 weeks that would have me gaining 10 pounds by next week. Right on schedule! YAY!

18wks-

Not much new here!! I think I may have felt the baby move yesterday but am not sure. I was sitting on the couch and all of a sudden I got these flutters in my lower abdomen. It lasted for a good couple of minutes. I have been feeling it off and on today- so I am starting to believe it is our little turkey!!

Other than that nothing to report. I took a belly shot this morning so I thought I would share it so you can see how much I have grown. Even though it is changing slowly- It is changing

18wks6days, My Birthday!!

We just got back from a weekend trip to my mom's house. My SIL and neices were visiting from Texas so we went down for the weekend. We also celebrated mine and Sil's birthday. Janet bought down 2 boxes of maternity clothes, the swing, and a bassinet. I am so excited to have these here- It feels good to start our collection.

I also racked up with giftcards for my birthday. Mom gave me a giftcard to Motherhood Maternity, and Janet gave me one to Target! YAY I can go buy some plain tshirts to wear.

I weighed myself again this morning. I noticed that when I weigh myself on Monday's and Tuesday's- my weight is always lower on Tuesday. So I will probably continue to weigh on both days, but use Tuesday's as the total weight count.

Today's weight: 143 (gained 2 pounds last week, and 9-10 total)

Wow it has been almost a week since I wrote last. I have been extremely tired this week and a little nauseas. I think the baby is going through a growth spurt which is wearing me out. I also have an ear infection in both ears, which hurts like hell. I am going to go buy some ear drops tomorrow and see if that helps, if not I will have to talk to my doc.

This morning I think I felt a kick. I was laying in bed and felt these little taps in my lower right abdomen- I reached down and swear I could feel my belly move. It was amazing and for the first time I think I felt movement. I have felt some flutters/ popcorn popping movements before but always thought that it was my imagination- This was not my imagination. Now he/she just needs to continue to kick me..

I have weigh in day tomorrow and feel like I have blown up this week. I haven't eaten as much as normal but every 2 hours I get really queasy- if I eat something small then it goes away- so it looks like I am in that eating a lot phase. I actually wore maternity clothes yesterday and felt like I looked pregnant in them. A week ago the same clothes just looked funny on me- so I cant wait to see the difference in belly shots.

We went browsing at USABaby for furniture. They were having a one day only sale and so I dragged Clyde there. Even though we didn't buy anything we are starting to get an understanding of what the prices of different items are. After USABaby we went to Kmart, Target, and Once Upon a Baby. We like the pack n plays and strollers from Target, but are still looking at furniture. We plan on going to look at JCPennies, and Walmart before we make any final decisions. 2 DAYS TILL MY BIG U/S!! Please baby cooperate!!

Well I weighed myself this morning and it was at 144- so it looks like I gained only 1 lb this week (Woohoo!!) I figured it would be a lot more- I feel huge this week. Overall I have gained a total of 11 pounds not too bad for halfway there.

Not much going on here- will update tomorrow after my big u/s- OLV please!!

This is going to be a long post so bear with me. Yesterday was our big u/s!! We arrived 15 minutes early, which is what they ask you to do. 40 minutes later and a very full bladder we were finally called back to the exam room. The lady was very friendly and a talker, which was good because that is what we wanted. She warned me that for the first 20 minutes she does the measurement part of the u/s- which meant that I couldn't see the screen. I as always was very nervous so seeing Clyde's face light up when he saw the baby helped me relax during this part. Then she pointed out that the fluids, measurements, and heart look great. That was a huge release- I have been nervous about the heart since that is how my brother died.

Anyway she finally turned the screen so I could see it, and the fun part began. She pointed out all the main parts of the baby (skull, spine, legs, arms, heart, etc) It is amazing at how much is visible on the u/s machine. You could even see the bones in his little foot. So she shows us the baby and says well the legs have been bent and completely closed the entire time. Since my bladder was huge (you could see it on the u/s) she decided to let me go to the bathroom. She told me later that going to the bathroom will help because it gives the baby more room to stretch out.

So I get back on the table, and yep it worked. Our baby was so sprawled out, he reminded me of me!! We found out we were having a boy! We have about 4 money shots, little one was definitely not shy! She laughed because she said this is a definite boy! Anyway so we go back on Monday to talk w/ the doc about the u/s. I feel better about everything and believe this is going to be a healthy little boy. He is actually measuring 20w4d, instead of 20w1d like my due date says. So it looks like my due date may change to November 4 (my FIL's birthday)!!

I am going to attach some pics from our u/s. We got about 8 u/s pics, plus a cd of pics and a 2-3 minute video. I am so excited to see our bean on the tv.

This is the big money shot! He is definitely a boy!

And a profile shot- Isn't he cute?

20 w not sure how many days

If you go by original due date I am 20w2d, but by measurements I am 20w5d. Anyway not much has been going on other than the many wiggles and squirmies I have been feeling these past two days. Our little man is busy in there. It is so funny how now I know it is him, when last week I thought it was gas. I love my little boy so much already!

Clyde and i have been discussing names. We are so confused now what to do. Clyde is the 4th Clyde in his family . His dad, grandad, and great granddad all have Clyde as their first name and something different for a middle name. Well Clyde was all against naming his son Clyde, which I agreed w/ because it confuses the crap out of me when they are all together. I was truely for keeping the tradition going but calling the child by his middle name (which Clyde didn't want to do), so at that point he was ready to drop the tradition all together. Well now that we have found out it is a boy- Clyde is changing his mind. He is now thinking about what to do. Should he keep the tradition going or just break it. I really dont mind keeping the tradition going, but we will not call it Clyde. I have thought of several names, but as always I keep getting well I will think about it! UGH!!

Ok sorry for venting- I can just tell this is going to be a touchy subject. I am going to give him a few weeks to think about what he wants to do, and then we will discuss it in further detail.

Well I decided to go by my original due date of November 7. So that makes me 20w5d today! Everything is going smoothly. I am feeling little one a lot lately. It still is only little thumps, no big kicks or anything, but I am now noticing them almost every day!

We went shopping yesterday! We went to the Babies R Us up in Nashville. It was worth it though. I was so amazed at the furniture choices they have there, and it was good to actually look at them in person. We found several we like, but now want to go back to USABaby to compare. Man I wish the big sale at USABaby was now instead of 2 weeks ago, we probably would have bought a set from them.

We are probably going to buy a whole set, which includes the crib (can be made into toddler/kids bed), dresser, and either armoire/chest of drawers. So there goes a lot of money towards that- but hey we will use it for awhile. We also found some bedding that Clyde loves. it is called In Flight and has airplanes on it. I like it, but it is not the color choices I lke ( I am a pastel girl). But it is cute, and there are things about it that I love. The quilt is fleece, so it is cuddly and will probably be used more than the regular quilts. So a little more thinking about that one.

We also looked at strollers- AAAAGGGHHHH!!! There are so many to chose from, but after much research hopefully we have narrowed down our search. We are going to talk to our friends to see if they like and use their travel system or if we should go a different way!

So anyway after a long day of shopping, and not buying anything- we are still in the same boat (not knowing what we want, but starting to get a better understanding of what is out there).

20w6d!!!

Wow this morning was great! From 3:30-5:00 he was kicking away. Again I could feel it on the outside, but not for long. It is funny that our little guy seems to have play time very early in the morning. So once he calmed down I went back to sleep!! I am ready for him to do it later in the day so dh can feel it!!

I weighed this morning and I am still at 144 (overall 11-12 lbs) , so it looks like I didn't gain anything this week! Last week I gained a lot so maybe this wasn't a growth week! I will post more today after my u/s this afternoon!!!

Ok well my due date changed to the 6th of November- one day ahead of what I thought- but that makes me 21w1d today!

Our appointment yesterday was a joke. We were there for about 5 min. We got in and quickly they called us back. I got weighed and I am now up 12 lbs total- total 147 *started at 135 on dr scale. I asked Dr. Lodge if that was ok, and he said it is right on target.

We listened to the heartbeat- I love to hear him in there!! Then they went over the u/s report- all looks good! He said it is normal and no signs of downs or spina bifida. I then asked him some questions and we left. We were there for a total of 5 minutes.

I did find out I have a anterior placenta. This means that the baby implanted towards my stomach instead of towards my back (like normal). It is no big deal just that the baby has to kick through that extra cusion, so I wont feel him as much! I was wondering because sometimes I feel him kick but it feels like it is deep down inside. Anyway good day yesterday!! I go back in 4 weeks!

22w2d!!

It has been awhile since I posted last. First thing first, on Monday I weighed myself and I am at 145 now (so 13 pounds overall). I am feeling pretty good. I am also feeling a lot of movement lately, little boy has been busy in there and it is amazing to see how much he moves. I cant wait till it gets stronger and I know exactly what I feel. Right now though I am just excited to feel movement that way I know he is ok in there.

I realized I never posted about our shopping spree. We bought our first baby item- the bedding for his nursery! It is blue and white, with airplanes on the front. It is pretty cute and we got it for a great price. We weren't planning on buying any extra items, other than the set, but for the price we got the entire nursery (lamp, shelfs, wall decor, etc). We also found a crib and dresser/hutch that we like. It is on sale at USABaby till the end of July, so when I get back from Florida we will probably go purchase it. Yay!!

That is all that is going on with us right now, I will update again soon.

24 wk

It has been almost 2 weeks since I posted last. I went to Florida for a week, so I didn't get to post while I was there. I weighed myself this morning and I am in between 148 and 149, so it looks like I have gained 3-4 pounds in 2 weeks. I can definitely tell a difference in my belly- little man is growing. I have been eating well and exercising, so I know what I am gaining is because of him and not me pigging out. I think I am going to go over the 25-30 lbs for the entire pregnancy, since I have already gained 16-17 pounds and I have a long way to go. I guess I will just have to work really hard to lose it after the baby comes.

I am starting a new exercise routine- M, W, and F I am walking for at least 20 minutes a day. I would like to get it up to 30 or so minutes, but I am starting off slowly, so for this week 20 min- 3 times a week. Then on either Tuesday or Thursday I have to do my prenatal yoga video. I also have made sure that if I snack during the day it is on either veggies, or fruit. Also drinking tons of water is helping and good for me. The only problem is I am still hungry every 2 hours- but am doing well just eating smaller meals every few hours.

On baby front- he is doing good. he is moving up a storm. Clyde has been able to feel him, and you can watch my stomach move on the outside. It is great. I am feeling him usually every day, but some days it is definitely more than others. I also am now beginning to feel him move around, where before I only felt kicks. It feels like a snake or fish swimming around in my belly- pretty freaky!! He is a little energetic guy, but I love feeling him move. Clyde is getting more into it. Last night we were sitting on the couch, and he was rubbing my belly on his own. The baby was kicking and Clyde just smiled. That makes me so excited to see!!

We went and bought the nursery furniture yesterday. We decided on the antigue oak- crib, hutch/dresser combo, and a nightstand. We also bought the mattress. Everything was in stock except the hutch- which should be here in less than 12 weeks. I hope it comes before that (they said it usually takes 8 wks), so I can decorate the nursery before little man comes. We are going to pick up the rest of the furniture once we get the nursery painted and ready.

We also went and started our registry. We spent the day at Target and registered for items there. We still need to register at BRU, but I feel better knowing that at least one of the places has been done. BRU is going to be fun, because there is so much stuff to choose from. Poor Clyde!!

25 wks.

Weight- 150 *UGH* I have gained 18 lbs so far!!! Last week was pretty good, very uneventful until Friday night. On Friday night I was involved in a car accident. I was out w/ a friend and her mom, and we hydroplaned and hit a guard rail. It could have been tons worse, and thankfully no one was extremely hurt- but all I could think about was the baby. This accident also happened on the 1 year anniversary of my m/c, so it was a hard day to begin with.

I decided to go to the hospital, and we spent 3 hours there- being monitored. Little man was kicking up a storm, had a strong hearbeat 148, and absolutely hated having the monitor on me. He kept kicking it off, which was a good feeling. Anyway no contractions, baby looked good so they sent me home.

I spent Saturday and Sunday resting and healing. Saturday I was very sore and extremely tired (we didn't go to bed till 2 am and I woke up at 6:30). On Sunday I felt better but still rested up.

Today I had my normal appointment, which worked out perfectly since I was suppose to check up w/ my doc following the car accident. They listened to the heartbeat, it was going strong, and again he was bouncing all over the place. The nurse thought she heard a skip in the heartbeat pattern, but when my doc listened it was perfect. I also talked him into an u/s- which was reasuring to see him bouncing around in there.

He was head down, all stretched out, but wiggling around!! He is still a boy- which is good to know!! Doc says not to worry, and little man is kicking up a storm today!

I go back in 4 weeks for last monthly appointment. I am also taking the 1 hour glucose test. YAY!!

26 wks today!

Well another week down- and another weigh in day! I weighed myself this morning and it went between 151 and 152. I am just gaining tons of weight, but I know it is not because i am eating unhealthy but because little man is getting big! He is almost 2 lbs now, which is amazing to me!!

So anyway it looks like I am now close to 20 lbs. UGH!!

Anyway I have been feeling great this week. Little man is getting so strong, and I am now getting some painful kicks to either the cervix or bladder. He is switching positions all the time, so somedays I feel kicks down low and then others it is above my belly button. The past three nights, he has really been moving, in that I feel like he is doing somesaults in there. It usually happens around my bed time.

I exercised last week 3 days! I was so proud of myself. On Monday i did 25 minutes, Thursday I did 20 minutes, and then 25 minutes again on Friday. Yes I am walking slow but at least I am exercising. My goal is to get it up to everyday, but I am happy with 3 days a week right now.

27 weeks today!!

I cant believe I am almost in my third trimester!! Wow!! It seems like yesterday I was taking that test, and finding out we were going to have a baby. Now I am waking up every morning to baby moves. I have realized that I am not just feeling kicks anymore- dont get me wrong I am still feeling them( they are definitely stronger) but now I think I am feeling arms, legs, elbows, and actual wiggling around. The new thing is when I lay on my side I can feel movement on both sides- which is just wierd. I love it so much and know that I will definitely miss this once he is born.

We went this weekend to BRU and finished our registry. We thought we would only be there a short time, but no 5 hours later we finally got home. It was so cute seeing how into this Clyde got, he actually scanned some drool bibs (they said I play sports with daddy) and a mirror thing to put in his car. So we finished our registry, the only thing we have left to do is decide on a pack and play (we actually have three that are on our registry- so we have to take two off). But we are done!! YAY!!

We purchased our stroller and carseat. We decided on the Graco metrolite stroller. I was a little nervous about the color, because it is black and purple. I was scared it was too girly, but Clyde was nervous it was too boyish- so I guess it is neutral which is good. So right now it is sitting in our living room floor, hopefully soon it will get moved out of the living room.

So my goals for the month of August are to clean out and paint the future nursery. Also I would like to find a pediatrician, and meet with them. We also really need to start thinking about names. We both have books and hope to narrow our choices down to a few ones. We will see how that goes!

Woohoo!!! I am in the 3rd Trimester!!!!

I cant believe I am in the third trimester. I was looking at my ticker today and it said 84 days left! Holy cow!! I am officially 28 weeks today, and time is flying by. I weighed myself this morning and was shocked to see that it said I gained 2 lbs since Saturday. Saturday morning I weighed myself and it said 153, where this morning it said 155! I so did not eat much this weekend, where is this weight coming from. But I am having the wonderful symptoms of digestive trouble, so hopefully tomorrow it will be a little lower. :-?

I dont know why the weight gain is bothering me so much. I am so excited to see him growing each day, but I am scared that I will never be able to get it off once he comes. I am not eating bad, actually I am probably eating better than I ever have (even dh pointed out this weekend that we have no bad for us food in our house). I also am exercising, which is tough, but i actually am enjoying the walking part of my day. So i dont know- maybe i am not getting enough fluids, or I am just going to have a big baby! We will see

I think the nesting instinct has kicked in. This past week I have started my cleaning out the closet project. It is going slowly, but I can definitely notice a difference. I am trying to clean out our closet, so I can move some of the stuff from the closet in the nursery to ours. I would love to actually have room to hang up baby clothes.

We haven't done too much baby wise yet. We are still trying to decide what color to paint the nursery. I am not a big fan of a blue room. Clyde loves the color blue- and would love to paint the nursery a light blue, but I would like to do a cream. I asked Clyde if we painted the nursery blue and I didn't like it would he redue it cream, and he said yes, so we will see. Hopefully we will make a decision, and we will buy paint this weekend.

Well last night was my first night that I was awaken by kicks. Little man was doing flips again in the middle of the night, and today I can definitely tell he has switched positions again. I am not sure where he is, maybe I can see if the doc can feel him and where he is.

I have been busy working on our house, and have realized the past two days that I can not do as much as normal. I was exhausted and my back was killing me after vacuuming and mopping our kitchen and dining room! So today I am on my own bedrest!! HEHE!! I love it! Clyde told me to rest because he is scared that I am overdoing it. So I am not doing anything today! YAY!!

I have my glucose test on Monday- and I am a little nervous about how that will go. I am hoping that I pass, so I dont have to worry about the 3 hour one. With my history of low blood sugar I am scared that I will pass out in the office (due to not eating and sugar dropping drastically). So lets hope that Monday goes smoothly. I will let you know on Monday how it went

This weekend we are going to go purchase our recliner. We have decided to get the swivel/recliner glider chair. It is a little more expensive then what I was wanting to spend, but hey we will use it after the baby has come. We are going to put it in our living room, and will put my grandmother's wooden rocker in the nursery. So we are going to get it this weekend- they said it takes 4-6 weeks to order it, so hopefully since I have 11 weeks left we will get it in plenty of time.

Tomorrow is my glucose test- I am nervous!!! I think I have heard so many bad stories of how the stuff taste, that I have it in my head that I will not like it. Hopefully though it goes down well, and I have no trouble. Please let me pass!!! I will post tomorrow after my appointment, even though I wont know about the pass/fail thing for a few days.

We went and purchased our recliner/rocker this weekend. We picked a greenish/brownish color that will match our couches. Both of us are pretty excited about it, and I can tell there may be episodes of fighting over it during football season. They told us it could take 4-6 weeks to get it in, which will be at the end of September.

I am starting to get antsy. I want to work in our nursery but there is nothing I can do. We are picking out paint, and hopefully have narrowed it down. We both like this light blue color. So hopefully this week we will buy it and we can paint in the next two weekends. I was hoping to have our furniture picked up and in the nursery by my shower, which is on the 24 of September. But now it looks like it might not be here. Clyde wants to go pick it all up at once- but the earliest the chair will be here will be the 24th. Our crib, dresser, rails, and nightstand are already in stock- but the chair and hutch are being ordered. So it looks like I am not going to have the room ready before my shower.

Mom said she is going to come up the weekend following my first shower, I have another one that weekend that she is planning on attending with me. Hopefully we will have the furniture so she can help me organize the new things. I just hope our furniture comes in before October, I do not want to have to worry about picking it up that late. I guess I need to stop worrying- it will get done!!

Ok so I had my glucose test this morning. I got up this morning and rode w/ Clyde to work. Since I had to take the test before I got there, I wanted to make sure it would be ok for me to drive. After all my sugar problems I was a little nervous about passing out or getting sick. The drink wasn't so bad, it actually tasted like a flat orange nehi! It was pretty good, but about 30 minutes later I started shaking and got a little loopy. We went to my appointment and it started out wierd.

I did the normal urine and weight check in. This morning on our home scale I weighed myself and it said 155 (dont get me started on that). This means that I have gained 22 lbs total. Well on the doc's scale it said I weighed 154.5. This is the wierd part the doc's scales is always 2-3 lbs more than at home, so I am now confused.

So after the scale problem I was put in the room. They checked my bp which was a little high, but they said it was because of the drink. Then doc came in and checked my fundal height, which he never did before. I should have asked him what the measurement was, but I didn't. So then we are asking him questions and he told me that he believes we are going to have a big baby. So now I am freaking out thinking that I am doing something wrong, am I eating too much?, gaining too much weight?, am I further along than I thought? So anyway now I am all confused.

Oh well!! Not much else is going on- little man is kicking up a storm and I am extremely tired!

Well it has been 3 days since my glucose test and I still haven't heard the results. I am going to give them till tomorrow, and if I haven't heard anything then I will call to find out. I am hoping for the saying no news is good news. I called and made an appointment for Saturday to meet the pediatrician. Clyde and I would like to meet with her, but I have absolutely no idea what to ask her. So I need to do some research on what all I need to ask. I am excited about their hours, and this doc seems pretty good so hopefully she will be the right match for us. I am starting to get things done. Woohoo!!

We picked out the paint that we are going to use in the nursery. Clyde is going to buy it and hopefully we will paint over Labor Day weekend. I also want to go buy some curtain rods for the nursery, but that is not a priority right now.

Today i am kinda crampy. It only bothers me when I am standing up and walking around a lot. I am not sure if I did too much this morning (went shopping) or if baby is in a wierd position. I am going to rest the remainder of the day and hopefully it will go away. Other than that not too much to report. Little man is doing well!!!

Well after no news, I finally decided to call and found out that I passed my glucose test!! Woohoo!! I am so excited that I dont have to take the 3 hour test.

I am so aggitated today with Clyde. He is driving me insane, and I know it is the hormones, but ugh!! I am going to go exercise maybe that will help me release some tension.

I have been having a wierd symptom that I am nervous about. My mom says it is totally normal for 3rd trimester but it is really bothering me. My bladder is hurting. I am not sure if it is just pressure or what, but it is really painful. I know I have a small bladder, but everytime it gets full it is painful. I also have noticed that the pain is only when I am standing up. I guess if it is bothering me on Monday I will call my doc, just to make sure it isn't a bladder infection.

I am going to go walk, and then get in the shower before our wonderful appointment with the pediatrician. Wish me luck!!

Well I have given up completely with weighing myself. i finally have realized I am going to gain weight, and it is driving me insane worrying about each pound I gain. I will lose it once the baby comes, so their is no need to worry or stress over it now.

We went on Saturday and met with a pediatrician here in our town. She was very nice and seemed to be a perfect match for us. I even found out that she has a lactation consultant that comes to your house and is covered my insurance. YAY!! So that makes me feel good.

Clyde painted the nursery this weekend. I love the color, it is a very light blue. It is not too much, which is exactly what I wanted. Sometimes in some light you can hardly tell their is blue in it at all.

Other than that not much going on. Little man took the weekend off, not moving very much which made me nervous. But the past two days he has been going crazy. I even think I felt hiccups a few days ago. It was like the baby was doing morse code in my belly. It lasted for a few seconds and I haven't felt it since. It is wierd though.

I cant believe I have less than 10 weeks to go! Wow! Time is flying!

31weeks 1 day

Yesterday was Labor Day and it was a good day overall. We relaxed yesterday morning, well I did, and then we went over to our neighbor's house for a get together. It was great- and I really loved the food. We had bbq ribs, baked beans, fruit, and pasta salad. YUM!!! I scarfed down the fruit, and was pretty pleased with how I ate (didn't eat too much).

We cleaned out the nursery this past weekend. We put the bunk beds in the office, and moved the wieght bench in the garage. Clyde really worked hard, and I am proud of him. So now we have a big empty blue room (except for the futon). I am going to call on Friday to just see if the recliner is in, and if so we will go pick it up this weekend! Please let it come in this week- if not it will be the end of September before we can go pick it up!

We have our breastfeeding class tonight. i am pretty excited about it because hopefully i will learn a little more about breastfeeding. I will let you know what all i learned tomorrow.

Baby is doing well. He has been moving on a steady basis the past week. I am feeling a lot more wiggles and overall big movements then kicks these days. he is running out of room in there!! He seems really high today, and I am having a hard time taking deep breaths today. I wonder if he switched positions again.

We had our breastfeeding class last night. It was good. Clyde and I arrived 30 min early, so we decided to go see the babies at the nursery. They were so cute and so little. It is so amazing that in 9 weeks I am going to have one of those. I really like the hospital and am proud of our decision to go there.

We then started our class. We got tons of handouts and a book about breastfeeding. The lady talked about everything from different holds to pumps. I was pretty impressed and even got to practice the holds with a fake baby! Ours was short and fat!!

I got a little nervous during the class, and actually had to leave because I was scared I was going to pass out. It was just like a wave of dizzyness came over me. Clyde thinks it is I am nervous about the whole process and this is my way of handling it. Which is probably true, but I got to get over it!!

After the class I talked to the lady about the nipple suction shields that she discussed for flat/inverted nipples. Since I have those, she said I could use these shields in my last month of pregnancy- so I will be looking and buying those soon.

We also looked at different pumps- Clyde and I still think we should just buy either a manual or a battery operated one. I dont think I should have an electric one, since I wont be using it that much. Umm now I have to find one I like. So anyway it was a good day and I am so happy we went to the class.

Today was my 32 week appointment. All looks good with little boy. His heartbeat is good, and is measuring right on schedule. So it looks like instead of being off on dates, he is just big. I asked about my urine samples- since they never mention them and they said everything was perfect w/ those. So it looks like everything is good. I go back in 2 weeks!! YAY!!

At my appointment I asked my dr if it is normal to have episodes where my heart begans to race which leads me to feeling dizzy and nauseaus. He decided to take my pulse, and he agreed it was very fast. Since I have no regular doc he sent me upstairs to have them check me out.

Once I got up there they took me into the room and check blood pressure (ok), and my heart rate. It was still fast, so they decided to do an ekg and a blood test to check my thyroid. Ekg came back ok- she agreed my heartrate was really fast but it was regular- nothing bad happening there. So they are going to check my blood. Hopefully it is just nerves and nothing serious. I should find out in a few days how it came back

The worse part of the appointment was that the building had no air conditioning. It was so hot, and thank goodness the man infront of me let me go back in his place. He didn't want me to sit there in the heat longer than I should. God bless him!! I was already sweating enough!

Other than that not much more going on- little man is constantly moving (which is so sweet). I am getting tired easier, and am now taking a nap each day. If I dont have a nap then I am incredibly uncomfortable and tired by the end of the day! I am still trying to get Clyde to look at names. I think we may have picked a first name, now to the middle names!!

Wow- i have officially started to feel like crap! Lol! This morning I woke up and could hardly breathe. Little man is in a position today that is incredibly uncomfortable. All the movement I am feeling is above my belly button to right below my ribs. Several times I have gotten very sharp pain in my ribs- and unless I sit straight up I am very uncomfortable today. I also have heartburn today which isn't helping this feeling.

Clyde went yesterday and came home with a recliner/glider. Yes that means we now have two. We have already purchased a really nice recliner/swivel chair for the downstairs. Well Clyde went to Big Lots and found another one for 130 dollars. He decided to buy it for the nursery, which actually is great. I was planning on putting my rocking chair (family handme down) in there but then I realized it is getting too small for my big butt. So this will be perfect. It is a tan color so it will fit in there nicely. We are leaving it in the living room, so I have somewhere comfy to sit, until we go pick up the other recliner (2-3 weeks).

Other than the not being able to breathe today I am doing ok. I am starting to wear down so easily, have actually started taking naps each afternoon. And have become incredibly lazy these past few weeks.

I think I have decided on a name. I have started to call the baby by this name, and every time I say it to Clyde he smiles. So I think he is happy with it also. Now we just need to decide on a middle name.

We had such a very busy weekend. Clyde and I had our childbirth education class. It was long but very helpful. On Saturday it was more a review in that we learned about what to expect during a vaginal delivery. We also practiced breathing and relaxation technigues. Sunday was the most imformative for me. We went over c sections, newborn care and postpartum stuff. They told us what all to pack in your hospital bag, and what we will need to take care of our little boy. We ended the day with a tour of the hospital. The LDR's are so nice, and even the postpartum room is a nice room to stay in.

We also have picked up most of our furniture. Clyde surprised me and went last Thursday and Friday and picked up our crib, dresser, and nightstand. He put the crib together on Saturday and over the past four days i have been working in the nursery. He is planning on picking up our recliner (yay it is in!) and our hutch this week. Once the hutch is up I plan on washing the clothes that I already have and will organize the drawers.

I have been feeling great the past two days. I have had more energy during the day- which for me is a huge step. I dont know if this is what they call nesting, but I am definitely getting a lot of things done in my house. I also have a shower next weekend here in TN, and my mom will be coming to visit so I am trying to get this house nice and clean.

We are still trying to see if Clyde will get this weekend off so he can go to Alabama with me for our family shower. He was planning on going down w/ me and spending time w/ his brother, father, and bestfriend. A few weeks ago he was told that they were going to have to work this weekend. He tried to talk to his boss yesterday about seeing if he could work Saturday but have Sunday off (day of the shower) and his boss told him they would talk about it today. So hopefully when he comes home tonight he will have good news.

He is also getting sick, which is hopefully not going to make its way to me. Clyde never complains, but last night he was so pitiful. He slept on the couch from when he got home from work till around 9 pm when I made him go to bed. I hope he gets to feeling better soon.

This is going to be a long post- so bear w/ me. We had our first shower this past weekend. This was the shower in Alabama and was thrown by my new sil. We invited a total of 25 people, and about 15 people showed up. It was a good day. We got there early so Clyde, his brothers and dad could go meet a friend for lunch. The shower began at 3 pm, and at first we just ate food. We sat around and talked and then we played a game where they measured my belly w/ yarn and everyone else had to guess how big my belly was by cutting their own yarn.

Then was time for the presents. We got so many gifts! Clyde's aunts went crazy w/ shopping, and both got us a laundry basket full of clothes and other goodies. So from each of them we got about 15 outfits or so. We also got our highchair, bouncer, and pack n play.! We barely fit it in our suv on the way home. My cousin also sent two bags of handme down clothes, but my mom is bringing them up this weekend. I think we are set on clothes!!

I have spent the past two days going through and organizing all of our gifts. We have another shower this upcoming weekend, and I wonder what we will get for that. Thank goodness baby Logan is loved- we have saved a lot of money! We are blessed!!!

I had my 34 week appointment yesterday! All looks good with baby and me! I gained another 4 lbs in two weeks, but doc believes it is mainly swelling/water weight instead of fat. They performend the strep test on me and while he was down there he did an internal exam. Baby is head down and no progress yet. I am happy about that because he needs a couple more weeks to continue to cook. He is not allowed to come out before 38 weeks! I go back in 2 weeks and then I drop down to weekly!!

I am starting to get nervous about this whole thing. I cant believe that I am going to have a baby! I am so ready to meet him but I am so nervous about the whole thing! I know this is normal but it is just so wierd to me!

36 weeks today!!

I cant believe it has been 2 weeks since I last posted. I am doing well! I cant believe today I hit 36 weeks- 4 weeks to go!!! YAY! Clyde and I have been busy! I had my second shower a week and a half ago. It was nice- I had about 12 people show up and we got a load of gifts. Some of our gifts included our changing pad, breastpump, my boppy, bathtub, diaper champ, etc.... So that evening and Sunday my mom and I set up the nursery and started washing sheets, etc.

The past two weeks I have been busy organizing the nursery and washing all of the clothes we recieved. I also went through and figured out what we needed to return and exchange. We took back several things to Target yesterday and plan on going to BRU next weekend. I think we pretty much have everything we need, but there are just a few items that we still could use.

We put together our pack n play yesterday! It is so cute. Now we just have to put together the cradle, swing (which my sil is sending us a missing part) and our carseat/stroller. After that I think we are pretty much ready!!

I am doing well! I have become extremely tired lately. It is hard to get comfy at night. My hips are starting to hurt because that is the only way I can lay. After not being able to get comfy, once I do fall asleep I am up every 2 hours peeing. So lets say a good night of sleep hasn't happened in awhile. I am now taking naps during the day and realize that those help a lot. I have also had sore legs, hips, and pelvis. The doc said it is normal, but there are certain days where I feel like I have been in the gym all day long.

I had my last 2 week appointment today- and start going every week next week. Everything was good- Bloodpressure was actually low for me, heartrate was good, and I only gained 1-2 lbs in two weeks!! YAY!! Baby's heartbeat was a little fast today, around 160 but he was in the middle of exercising (he was making so much noise-hitting the doppler) so they said that was ok. Then he did an internal- no progress yet! I am ok for now with the no progress thing, but I hope in the next couple of weeks to have some change. I really would rather not come late!!!

Logan is now considered full term and can come at any time! YAY!!! I cant believe that in 4 weeks or less I am going to be a mommy!! We had our weekly appointment yesterday and I got good news. The baby is doing well, even though I am not feeling him as much. He has days where I dont feel him very much but seem to get more sharp pains in my cervix, and a lot of cramping. And then on other days I feel him throughout the day, but it isn't painful.

My appointment started off as normal- blood pressure is good, heartrate is good, and weight gain is slowing down. Doc came in and did the internal- baby is head down and engaged !I DROPPED!!!!, and I am also starting to thin out. So doc said it is beginning. I know it could stay this way for awhile but hey it is a good sign!! I also asked how long they would let me go past my due date before they would induce and he said a week, so woohoo in 4 weeks we should have a baby some how!. I am not too excited about being induced but at that stage I think it would be ok.

I am having horrible cramps in my upper legs and pelvis. Doc said it is because the babys head is so low- so that makes me feel better. I thought on Sunday that I was having the baby- severe pressure and pain, but it was constant not like what I would expect from contractions. Hopefully I will be able to destinguish them when they start. So now I am in the waiting game!!!!

Wow I just realized it has been awhile since my last post. I never even updated after my appointment this past week. I am now 38 w and 6 d pregnant, tomorrow is a week from my due date. YAY!!! I had my normal appointment on Monday and everything was good- baby's heartbeat was on target, my blood pressure was perfect, and weight gain is starting to slow down. The internal was even more painful this week, but again no dialation or anymore effacement. I am now starting to believe this baby is going to stay in forever. Clyde and I were hoping that he would come this weekend, but it doesn't look like that is happening.

I have been having severe hip/pelvis pain. My doc said that the baby is low so that is why I am having so much pain. A few nights ago I had a spell of contractions, but only about 2, so it wasn't a big deal. Hopefully though it did something, and tomorrow I will hear good news. I am going to talk to my doc tomorrow about inducing. He said we would do it a week past my due date, but I would like to go ahead and find out about when. Yes I know I am a planner.

Other than that I am extremely tired and big. We went out last night for dinner and Clyde had to help me in and out of the car. It was so funny. I never imagined I would get this big.

Logan is moving up a storm these past few days. His little legs and arms are constantly moving, and I still enjoy each movement. I am so ready though to have him in my arms and see him make those movements. Hopefully it wont be too far off...

39 w and I have progress!!! YAY!!!

I am so excited but have to remember that just because I have progress does not mean this baby is coming now. BUt I am happy that I do have a little bit of progress. Anyway- last week I had no progress, but today I was 80%effaced and 2 cm dialated. YAy!!!!

My doc was pretty impressed and seems to think I will have this baby before next Monday. I hope he is right! He also went ahead and stripped my membranes, which was a little painful, but if it does something then I am ok with it. He said he got in there pretty good, so hopefully it will jumpstart labor.

Since my appointment I have been having my normal cramping, but no where near as much bleeding/spotting that I usually get after an internal. I have cramping but I usually have that for the day of the internal. Please let it work!!!

Well it has been awhile since my last post and yes Logan is here. He is 3 weeks old today and I realized that I never posted his birth story, so here goes...

We went in for our 40 week appointment on Monday November 6th. I had no progress again, still at 2 cm, 80 % effaced. My doc decided to induce us, and set us up to get induced the next day. I was told not to eat anything after midnight, so Clyde and I planned a huge meal the night before. My mom came up that night so she could drive up there with us. I was afraid I wouldn't sleep so I took some benedryl to help me sleep, and thank goodness it worked.

The next morning we got up and drove to the hospital. Mom had to take a before picture to capture me on my last day of pregnancy. We checked in to the hospital at 10 am, and by 11 am we were in our LDR. I was put on a monitor and given an IV. They realized that I was already having contractions and they were about 7 minutes apart. The funny thing was I had no idea I was having them. After an hour they started the pitocin (noon), and checked me- I was still at 2 cm and 80 % effaced.

The next few hours I was having perfect contractions (or so they said). They were coming every 5 minutes apart and were starting to get strong. We decided about 3:30 that I was going to get an epidural. Since I was so tight the nurse decided not to give me another internal until I got the epidural. The epidural was not bad, and it was so helpful to have it. The contractions were speeding up to about every 4 minutes, but when she checked I was still only 3 cm dialated.

The contractions continued until 7 pm, when my doctor showed up. He did an internal and yes I was still 3 cm dialated. He broke my water, but was talking about that we would probably end up with a c section. I was ok with that, since I always expected it.

My contractions started coming every 2 mins apart, and became very strong. Throughout the night I was checked every 2 hours, and finally I started to have some progress. By midnight I was 6-7 cm dialated, and the babies head was engaged. They decided to put an internal monitor on Logan, to see if he was doing ok and to see how strong my contractions actually were.

3 hours later I really started having bad contractions. At 3 am, I could feel the pressure in my bottom, and called the nurse in. She checked me again and I was 9 cm dialated. I was so excited because this meant I was almost there. After an hour of intense contractions they upped my dose of pitocin and my epidural.

At 4 am- they came in again to check me and I had a fever. I was still at 9 cm dialated, and the nurse said there was a small part of my cervix that wasn't opening, and the babies head was behind that. She had me try to push one time to see if he would come down, but nope he didn't. I also found out that he was head up, so they were going to see if he would turn on his own. We also noticed that I had a fever, and also had a lot of blood in my catheter. The doc was called and around 5 am he came in. He decided to go ahead and do a c section since the babies heartrate started to race, and my fever was coming back. So they started to prep me for surgery. I got emotional at this point, not because I was having a c section, but because of the fact that it was surgery. I was scared to death.

They rolled me into the room, and Clyde finally came in. Clyde looked so funny, he had a mask and his glasses, so I could hardly tell it was him. The epidural was making me incredibly sleepy, but finally I heard the best sound in the world. Logan screaming!!! He was born at 6 am- 18 hours after I was induced. I started crying immediately, and noticed that Clyde was also crying. They told him to stand up and look at our big boy. The doc kept saying how big he was, and at one point I heard wow she just gave birth to a toddler. ONce Clyde stood up and said wow he is big, I knew we had a big boy on our hands. They brought him up so we could see him, and man he was so beautiful. They weighed him and he was 9 lbs 15 oz, and 22 inches long. Clyde left with Logan to take him to the nursery while they finished with me.

As soon as Clyde left I got so sick. I finally fell asleep while they finished up. I was wheeled back into my room, no one was in there since they had all gone down to the nursery. I took a short nap before Clyde, his mom, and my mom came back up to see me. They shortly bought Logan up to see us. I found out then that he had low blood sugar so they had to give him some formula, and sugar water. I got to hold him for a short time, but was so afraid I would drop him (I was still drugged up).

After our short visit they took him back down to the nursery so they could give him his bath. They also wanted to keep an eye on his blood sugar, but would bring him to me once I was moved to the postpartum room. We got moved down to the room, and everyone went home. They had all been there most of the labor time, and everyone needed some sleep. So Clyde and I were alone for the first time since the morning before.

We were waiting on them to bring us Logan when a doctor entered our room. He introduced himself and told us that he was the doctor in the NICU. They were going to move Logan into the NICU due to fluid in his lungs. He explained that it was pretty normal for big babies who were born by c section to have this, and they wanted to keep an eye on him. I was told that I could go visit when I felt up to it. As soon as he left, we both started to cry. I cant explain right now how hard and how scared we both were. We called our parents to let them know what was going on. They bought Logan in for a short visit before moving him up to the NICU.

Clyde went to visit him a lot that day, but since I couldn't go it was so hard on me. I was suppose to be with him, but my baby was all by himself. That night though I went for my first visit, and ended up in severe pain and so sick that I only stayed for about five minutes. It was so hard to see him in there with tubes and oxygen attached to him.

Long story short, Logan was moved out of the nICU to the step down room within a day. He was still on an iv but was taken off the oxygen pretty quickly. We spent more time each day with him, and I started to feel better about his health. On Friday (2 days after my c section) I was discharged, but we were given a hospitality room to stay in, since Logan was not being released yet. We spent the night, and on Saturday found out that Logan was going to get to room in with us on Sat night. This is the step before discharge, where the parents actually get the baby in their room. So Sat night we got Logan and it was great to have him without any tubes.

On Sunday we were discharged, and finally came home 5 days after we arrived. Logan has been doing well these past few weeks. He is now 10 lbs 4 oz, and is no longer jaundice. He is having severe gas so I am trying to watch what I eat, but he is overall a great baby..
