Default Once, twice, three times a baby...

Well, here I am. I promised myself that I would start a pregnancy journal the second I became pregnant. So, I am only a week late. Aw well.

My life: I am Pamela (29), married to Ian (30), and we have 2 girls~Sabreena (4 years old) and Madilynn (20 months old). We are currently (temporarily!) living in a tiny apartment in Vancouver, Washington. We moved here from Southern California in August 2004...we needed a change of life. There was no time to find a house here, as all of our money was tied up in our house in California (which sold in October). So, we are soon gonna be actively looking for a permanent place to live.

I will slowly tell 'my story' over the next few posts. I am off to bed now!
    ~Pamela~

So, I found out I was expecting #3 on February 4, 2005. I had been taking HPT's all week long and the day before (Thursday) I had taken one that was so faint I did not believe it. It was a dollar tree test and I know many times they can have a faint gray/white line where a pink one should be. But for some reason, I just *knew* I was pregnant. I had been having crazy/vivid dreams, my boobies were super sore/sensitive, and I was moody beyond belief (just ask my dh! )So that Friday morning at 2 A.M., I took a test and within the 10 minutes, this is what it looked like:

My online buddy Crystal (and fellow pregnancy.org'er) was the first that I told...hubby was asleep and I was in shock/denial/amazement. And the next morning, I told another buddy Steph...she had been following my chart each day and it had become a ritual to say hi to her each morning as I signed on! *Love ya Steph!* I called my PCP and scheduled an appointment for that day (no messing around here!). Before I left for my appointment that afternoon, I took another HPT (Equate...Wal-Mart's brand):
So, the urine test at the Doc's showed that I was barely pregnant. I had a blood draw and was to come back on Monday for another one. The strange thing is that I received my BFP on CD 32 and AF was barely late. When pregnant with BOTH of my girls, I did not get positives until AF was way over a week late. With Madilynn, I tested every day, knowing that I was pregnant, but kept getting negatives. So this BFP was a shocker! For the record and because I just love to POAS, I took one of those digital HPT's on Saturday:
That's all I needed to see!

I gotta get caught up...so I am gonna copy and paste the last months pregnancy events!

    *February 8*

I had blood taken on Friday (yes, I RAN to the Doc's office when I got that BFP! LOL) and again yesterday. My Doc just called me with the results: 2/4/05~58 2/7/05~344 I am guessing this is okay?!?!?!

Hmmm...I think I am gonna call my OB in the morning and go in to be checked out. I had some bleeding after bd'ing on Sunday morning and it has not let up. It is only when I wipe, but (TMI) it is stringy mucousy blood---not bright red in color, but not brown. So I am a bit worried! I don't think my mind can wait until the 21st for my appointment. I will update you with hopefully good news.

Update 1: The nurse squeezed me in since the OB wants to see me...my appointment is at 3:45 this afternoon. The bleeding is still there when I wipe. I guess I am nervous because I have only bled ONCE while pregnant...and that was with Madi around 12 weeks. But, no cramping or anything, so I am thinking everything is okay.

Update 2: I am back! The Doctor did a pelvic and said that there was some blood (TMI...I saw some on the speculum afterwards)...not brown, so she is concerned. She asked me how I'd feel if I did have a miscarriage (I think to see if I needed counseling or something) and I told her I would be sad, but that I also believe that everything happens for a reason.

So, I had blood taken to check out the levels and tomorrow I have an ultrasound scheduled at 3:30 (I could've had it sooner, but my hubby works and can't take off and our babysitter is in Florida...and there is NO WAY I can take a 4 year old and a 20 month old!). I am really not nervous...I *think* that everything is going to be okay.

Well, the ultrasound went well. They saw a yolk sac and a fetal pole. Couldn't see the heartbeat yet, but it looks like my due date calculations are more accurate than just going by my LMP. I am really around 5w4d...which would make my EDD 10/15/05. They may officially change it after I have my next ultrasound. But, since I am still spotting, the Doctor said I should take it easy...no heavy lifting, no sex, etc. My hcg levels have gone up---7,906 now!!! As for twins, only one sack was seen, but the tech told me it was too early to know for sure. I will probably have another u/s within 2 weeks or so. Thanks for all of your well wishes and good thoughts! I really needed it!

It was...uneventful. But I have the slip here to have an u/s done...I can call them in the A.M. and schedule an appt. (DH has an ENT appt. tomorrow, so I hope to schedule it for Wednesday!). I also got this cool binder that has all the info from childbirth classes to what to eat and not, medication lists, and everything to know week by week. Even the hospital pre-admission forms are in there! Egads!

    My Lil' Bean...

I got to see it! I had my ultrasound yesterday and there it was...with a strong heartbeat (167 bpm!!!)! Sabreena came with me to my appointment (Madilynn was home sick with daddy) and she was so excited to see the little flashing on the screen! I think it measured around 7w6d...which was my estimate since I was charting. My Doctor should be calling me sometime today with the results. I am breathing a sigh of relief!!!

Well, we are going to go to the mountains this weekend as planned. Both Madilynn and Sabreena are sick with who-knows-what (we have another Doctor's appointment for BOTH of them this afternoon)...a fever, sneezing, and coughing. So if it is just a cold, why not be sick while relaxing at a resort? I think I am getting a touch of it, too, so I will just let Ian take care of all of us! :P Have a great weekend everyone...see you on Sunday night!

We are back...and we had an 'OKAY' time. Madilynn is on day 5 of fever and Sabreena is on day 7...and I am day 1. I took them to the Doc's on Friday and of course the Motrin was doing it's job at the time. We didn't do a lot while we were away; we took it easy and relaxed. But Sabreena has had 6 bloody noses in the past 4 days. She got them alot since she was 10 months old or so and we lived in SouthernCalifornia. But we have been here in Washington for 6 months now and this has been the first time she has gotten them. Saturday morning 7 A.M., picture this: A pregnant lady, nauseous as heck, holding on her right lap her 21 month old girl who is whining from a 104 degree temperature and her nose is running uncontrollably. On her left lap, is her 4 year old who is gushing blood out of her nose...so bad in fact that her EYES begin to well up with blood!!! I had to yell for dh for 5 minutes to get his sleeping a$$ up and come and help me. I DID put a call into the on-call Doctor that morning! Time to take Sabreena in to an ENT specialist and get her bood vessels in her nose cauterized! UGH.

All of that aside, the weather was beautiful and we enjoyed hanging out at the resort most of the time! We decided to wait on going to the snow until everyone is better.

Man, this stupid cold has been kicking my a$$!!! I have got literally NOTHING done this last week. The laundry has now piled up, we've been eating out/bringing food in almost every day/night (and I was doing SO WELL cooking at home!), and I feel so bad for the girls. I am just laying around feeling like crap. I have had it for over a week now---not too sure why it is hanging on so long, but I have heard that a lot of people are getting sick. I gotta snap outta my funk though...too much to get done!

Yesterday, Sabreena and I went out with a realtor to look at some homes in the area. I need to get all of our paperwork together so the loan can be processed and we know exactly how much we can put into a house. Getting outta this apartment is our number one priority right now. We expected to be here for just 2-3 months...it has now been 7 months! And at this point, we are not too picky~we just wanna place to call HOME!

I've gotta go and get Madi's haircut today...maybe we will go out to Portland after Bree gets out of school. Ian is gonna stay at the school (he is a Special Education Resource Teacher at an Elementary School) late today anyways! I hope that a shower energizes me, because I already feel like I am shutting down. This sucks!
