High Risk Issues:

Factor V Leiden (FVL) and MTHFR- inherited blood clotting disorders
Incompetent Cervix (IC)

Lovenox injections- 40 mg per day
(switched to 60 mg effective 3/27)
Baby Aspirin- 81 mg
Folgard (4 mgs Folic acid and B6 and B12)
Citracal Prenatal plus DHA
Fortmet (PCOS and to keep glucose levels down) (stopped at 10 weeks)
Prometrium- 100 mg 3x per day (stopped at 10 weeks)

5 weeks and 1 day

I decided to start a Pregnancy Journal despite my misgivings. For some reason, I feel compelled to journal this pregnancy. And, I have a good plan in place for this pregnancy and it’s time to start thinking positive and moving forward. BTW-If anyone is interesting in reading about my losses you can head over to the High Risk Pregnancies Board and read my story under the Our Stories Thread. It’s been over 17 months since my stillbirth and I had been TTC for 12 months. I got pregnant with an IUI and Gonal F injectables cycle.

I have been feeling pretty good, other than being very tired and overwhelmed by work. After I have the cerclage, I plan on significantly reducing my hours and only going into work a few hours each day.

6 weeks and 1 day

It’s been a pretty uneventful week with not too much to report. Morning Sickness kicked in on Saturday and I have felt nauseated ever since. But so far it’s manageable. I am still very tired and want to sleep most of the time. That makes it really hard to be motivated for work. The shots are going well and no complaints there. I have some bruising, but not as much as I expected.

My first u/s is next Monday :yahoo:

We have a heartbeat!

Baby is measuring right on track and the HB was 170 BPM! I will have a another ultrasound in 10 days (3/30) followed up by yet another in 10 days. Then my RE will release me to my OB.

8 weeks and 1 day

I had an apt. with my hemotologist today. He was not there and I had to his PA who knew nothing about my clotting disorder. She actually had to call my regular doc and find out what to do with me :roll: The results of my lab were not even in to see if my blood thinner was working. So they took some more blood and should have the results tommorrow. I go back on April 2nd. I guess I will go in 2-3 times a week for the first 3 weeks and then every three weeks. I was running a temp (99.0- no big deal) and so she took a urine sample. No infection, so that's good.

8 weeks and 2 days

Boy am I glad I went to see the hemotologist. It turns out that I actually need a higher dose of Lovenox. Blood test indicated that I still had some clotting going on.

Rough thing is that I will need blood test and visits intially a couple times a week. In a few weeks, I will only have to go every three weeks or so.

More visits mean more co-pays and more 20 %'s though :roll:

8 weeks and 5 days

RE apt went great. Baby is measuring a day ahead and the HB 180 BPM :P The RE was very pleased.

My M/S is progressively getting worse. I had to leave work early yesterday because I was feeling so awful. I threw up so hard that I peed me pants :oops: The RE gave me some meds today and that has been helping a little.
My next and last apt with the RE is on April 9th and then I see my OB in town.

I am so pissed right now. I just got back from a visit with my hemotologist. My apt. was at 3:45 pm and it took me 1 hour and 1/2 just to get in the exam room and another 30 minutes for him to see me. And to top that off the last 4 tests I took are crap. I was supposed to take the test 4 hours post Lovenox dose. I take my doses at night, so my results were all screwed up. But I still have to pay for all the labs???? Ugh! So I have to take yet another test at noon to see where my levels are really at :roll:

11 weeks and 1 day

I had my first visit with my OB in town today (I have previously been seeing my RE). We heard the baby with the doppler and all is well.

Cervix is LONG and CLOSED :yahoo:

He is going to place the cerclage around 15-16 weeks. I should know the exact date by Friday :)
