My apt. is on May 16th to get the cerclage. I will be 15 days and 3 days pregnant.
After the cerclage I will stop working full time and will reduce my hours to 8:30-12:00, M-F :yahoo:

13 weeks and 1 day
I have not updated in awhile because I have been as sick as a dog with the stomach flu :bigsad:
It all started on Wenesday afternoon. I threw up lunch (not so a typical because M/S is still around now and again). But then I threw up 20 minutes later and then 20 minutes after that. So I went home from work and it continued well into Thursday morning. Throwing up every 20 minutes! I called my doctor and he had me come in. I had lost 7 pounds in less than a week and was dehydrated. He sent me home and order that I be under the care of a in-home support nurse. I had an IV for three days for re-hydration. It was nice not to have to go to the hospital.
Although I am still not 100%, I went back to work today. I have so much going on at work with a big project coming up that I may not be around the org for awhile.

I got some unsettling news at my OB visit today. He checked my cervical length and said that my cervix is closed but it's half the size of a normal pregnant cervix  He said that it is the same size since my first visit with him in February and said that he did not want to worry me at the time because there is nothing that could be done about it then. :-? He said that even if I did not have a history of loss with IC as as suspected cause, I would get a cerclage anyway.
I have been scheduled for a cerclage since the beginning of my pregnancy as a prevented measure because they are unsure if my loss was caused from an Incompetent Cervix (IC) or my clotting disorder. Now we know that I truly have IC. I really hope and pray I can make it to Wednesday when the cerclage is scheduled to be put in.
Please pray for me or send positve thoughts everyone  I am really worried.

15 weeks and 1 day
My pre-op apt with my OB and at the hospital went well. The procedure will take about 30 minutes and I will be under general anesthesia. After the cerclage is put in, I will be monitored for contractions for awhile. Then I go home. I was told I would be at the hospital for 6 hours. I am taking Thursday and Friday off as a precaution and then it's back to work on Monday at my reduced schedule.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers everyone! I will not be online on Wednesday, but will have my friend Karen update my journal on my behalf.

UPDATE FROM KATIE
Surgery went well. Took all of 15 minutes!
:)

15 weeks and 5 days
The surgery appears to have been a sucess and I am feeling pretty good. As Karen said, it took all of 15 minutes and my doctor said he was surprized that I had more cervix to work with than he first thought. I did have more bleeding than he was expecting. He thinks that is due to the blood thinners, although I stopped taking them for the surgery on the Sunday before.
Here is a cartoon graphic of what my cerclage generally looks like if anyone is interested.

I go back to see the doc for on the 22nd and I am hoping to talk to him about when I can make my apt for the 20 week u/s.
Thank you so much to all my online friends who have been praying for me and sending positive thoughts my way :)

16 weeks
Today is the first day I felt significant movement. It was unmistakeable and no way it could be passed off as anything but "baby" :)
My DH had to go to a camp with his team this weekend. He was so worried about leaving me. He called me three times each day and left early just to get home. Bless his heart. He worries more than I do. He is starting to get borderline obsessed in his online research. I saw that he did a google search on cerclage failure rates on Thursday night :(

Hi Hun! Just popping by to let you know how thrilled I am for you and that I read every update you write!!!! Are you finding out the sex of the baby?
-
Hi Bobbie :wavehello:
Yes we are finding out the sex and I hope to make that apt on my post-op vist on Tuesday.
Thanks for reading my journal. I read yours too :)

I hope you don't mind my posting in your journal. I'm glad your cerclage went well. It's great that you were able to be in and out in one day. My doc's told me that if I need one I'll have to check into the hospital one day before and stay one day after (minimum of three days) so that I can be switched over to heparin and monitered. Maybe it's because I already have clots...who knows. It's great to hear you're feeling well and your little one is safe and stuck inside. :)
