32 weeks and 1 day

I had my 32 week appt today. The doctor said everything is looking great. I actually lost 2 pounds since last month. Down now to 151 pounds. He was not concerned about that since I am measuring right on. My blood pressure was good and Katie's heart rate was in the 150's. It is so hard for me to believe that in about 8 weeks I am going to have a baby. The doctor also said that my blood sugar numbers are doing really well. He said it was common for moms with gestational diabetes to lose weight when they first find out because of following the diet. That is the silverlining in all this. I will not gain as much weight as I probably would have.

33 weeks and 4 days

I had my baby shower at work today. Whoa is all I can say, my friends are great. I got so much stuff. Lots of clothes and they are all so cute. I had a great time. My friend Stephanie threw the shower for me and she went all out with the decorations and food.

After the shower my mom and I organized the nursery. We got all the clothes put away and hung the curtains. It looks really nice. I was glad to get stuff put up, it really takes some anxiety away. I just can't believe that in like 6 weeks we are going to have a baby.

I have my breastfeeding class tomorrow night and our first childbirth class is on Tuesday. We are getting really close to the end now.

33 weeks and 6 days

I had my breastfeeding class last night at the hospital. It was very informative and the hospital is so pro breastfeeding. When I was sitting in there I just started to get so excited about how soon we are going to be parents. I just can't believe how lucky we are. I have my 34 week appt this afternoon and tonight is our first childbirth class.

33 weeks and 6 days

I had my 34 week appt. Everything looks good. My weight was 154. Thats a weight gain of 22 pounds so far and I think thats great. The doctor said my blood sugars are doing really well. I go back in 2 weeks and then I start the every week appts.

My childbirth class that was tonight got cancelled because the instructor is sick so we are going Thursday night.

34 weeks

34 weeks and 2 days

We had our first childbirth class last night. It went well. We talked all about labor. The stages of labor and normal time frame for each and what happens with each stage. We also watched a video of a birth. Then we did some breathing exercises. Our next class is Tuesday. I think these classes are going to be very helpful so that we know what to expect.

35 weeks and 1 day

We had our second childbirth class on Tuesday night. It was very informative. It was all about medical stuff. It was scary though to talk about all the interventions they could do. It makes me really really want a natural birth. Even though I am not dead set against medications because I just don't know what to expect.

I also talked to my boss yesterday and got my weekend night position squared away for when I come back from maternity leave. I also got the paperwork started for when I am out of work. This is all happening too fast and I am not ready yet. I started to get some things together for my hospital bag. I just can't believe we are so close to having this baby, when is it finally going to hit me.

36 weeks

We had our third childbirth class last night. It was about postpartum and things they do after the baby is born. Then we took a tour of the labor and delivery rooms and the postpartum rooms. It was nice to see everything up close and personal. It is making it seem more real. I can't believe how close we are to the end of pregnancy and the beginning of Katie's life.

I have started to pack my hospital bag too. I got most of Katie's stuff together but some stuff for me I have to wait until the it is time to go. I have my 36 week appt tomorrow. They are going to check me the first time to see if I am dilated at all. Everyone at work seems to think I am going to go early for some reason. I guess we will see but I don't think I will. We have our last shower on Sunday at my dad and stepmoms house. I am really excited about it.

36 weeks and 1 day

I had my 36 week appt today. Heartrate was 155. My bp was good, weight was 156 pounds, thats a 24 pound weight gain so far. I measured right at 36 weeks. The doctor did the strep group B test. He didn't check me which is fine with me. He said he may not check me next week either, depending on if I am having contractions or not. I would rather not be checked anyways. It is really not a good way to tell when you will go into labor. Katie will come when she is ready.

36 weeks and 6 days

We had our third and last baby shower on Sunday. It was at my dad's and stepmom's. My dad gave us a bassinet. It was lots of fun and we got a lot of stuff. We finally got some diapers and wipes. Then we came home and pretty much finished getting the nursery ready. I am really happy with the way that the nursery came out, I think it looks great.

Our last childbirth class is tonight and I have my 37 week appt on Thursday. I have been very tired lately, I guess it is from the busy weekend and getting all the nursery stuff done. Plus working 12 hour shifts are getting very hard.
