Default Kid Friendly Meals & Reviews

I'm always trying to find new ideas to serve to my son (and my daycare kids). So let's get a thread going about what you like to serve your LO's!

Good idea for a topic. Sadly I am no help though. My 5 yo is autistic and won't eat certain textures and won't eat if it "looks different than it did last time or what I'm use to". It unfortunately limits my cooking but I do welcome thoughts or ideas to try anyway.

I'll post some once I unpack my cook books on feeding babies and toddlers. None are tried and true yet, but there are a lot in there which I would eat myself and the books I have promote kids eating modified versions of the family meal

That is what we try to do. I don't like cooking seperate meals for everyone every night. Once in a while is one thing, but to expect it is completely different.

For dinner I do make one meal and my DS usually gets that, unless it's something like super spicy or whatever that I'm afraid might upset his tummy.

As far as lunches though, he usually is napping by the time I'm eating so he does usually get his own lunch..

One of his current favorites is a piece of turkey lunch meat wrapped with a piece of American cheese. He enjoys it! he can eat it wrapped up, just holding it and it's LOW MESS!

Generally DS eats whatever we have for dinner. If it's something spicy I tend to dish up his meal before adding spice. He loves eating pasta so If im feeling lazy I cook him up ravioli.

I usually do a fair bit of baking near the start of week - I make mini muffins, biscuits etc for snacks (im able to freeze some too).

I've found some great, healthy, kid-friendly recipes at Weelicious.com! My son loves their "O" Cookies, which are just O cereal (like Cheerios) mixed with peanut butter and rice syrup and formed into balls to cool. I'm a big fan of the ham and cheese muffins as well, probably a bigger fan than my son is, but he will eat them when they're fresh out of the oven or on MY plate.
