    Default Broccoli-Cheese Soup--CROCK POT!

This soup is better than any soup I've had in a restaurant!
Can also be made with cauliflower or brussel sprouts in place of the broccoli.

32 oz. bag of frozen broccoli
1 quart of half & half (or substitute for whole milk)
16 oz. jar of cheese whiz (regular or low fat)
2 cans of cream of celery soup (regular or low fat/low sodium)

Dump all ingredients in the crock pot and cook on LOW for 2-3 hours.
    SO GOOD!!

In response to your question, I don't know if I'd really call it a "recipe", but what I usually do is put a big beef roast in the crock pot, along with a can of cream of mushroom soup, two packets of onion soup mix, and a packet of brown gravy mix.....then I put in raw carrots and potatoes (or canned baby potatoes) and cover with water. I cook it on low for 8-10 hours and it's great! I usually throw some garlic salt and pepper on top, too.

    Hope that helps!

We make roasts in the crock pot all the time. That, and chili seem to be about the only things that we make there (until now - I can't wait to try some other stuff).

    So here's our basic recipe:

    - Put roast in crock pot.
    - Fill sides with small potatoes and carrots (or chopped potatoes, or rutabaga).
    - cover with olive oil (if it's lean - we usually have wild game/bison)
    - Add a can of beer or a bunch of red wine
    - Add a bunch of garlic (you can wither put a couple tablespoons of crushed garlic on top, or put it in slices inside the roast)
    - put a bunch of rosemary and thyme on top
    - add a medium can of spiced crushed tomatoes (or a can of crushed tomatoes and a bunch of chili peppers)

I've made variations on this recipe about 20 times. The bison came out so tender it melted in your mouth!

Crock-pot roasts are the way to go if you have a less than ideal cut/wild meat which can sometimes be quite tough.

I haven't done a traditional 'roast', but I use Chuck roast all the time. One thing I do before for all my beef in the crock pot is I seared it on the stove and then deglave the pan and pour it over the meat in the crockpot. ( ilove the taste of browned meat)

    Beef stroganoff
Simple recipe is salt & pepper meat liberally, sear and put in crock pot. Deglaze pan with beef broth. Throw in onions and 2 cloves of garlic and some thyme. Cook on low for 8 hours. Serve over egg noodles and add a dollup of sour cream. I have to cook the mushrooms seperate because DBF hates mushrooms.

I have a smaller crock pot, but I made pulled pork the other night.

    3 lbs Pork Butt

    Dry Rub
    1/2 cup br sugar
    2 tbl kosher salt
    2 tbl chili powder
    1 tbl pepper
    1 tbl paprika
    1 tbl garlic powder

I rub the meat with the dry rub and let it sit in the fridge for 12 - 24 hours. Then cook on low for 8-10 hours.

    Italian Crock Pot Chicken

    4-6 Chicken Breasts Thawed
1 Can cream of mushroom soup
1 pkg good seasons powdered italian dressing mix
    1/2 can of milk.
1 small container of cream cheese

Combine all, and cook in the crock pot for 6-8 hours on low.

Make white,or wheat rice, top it with chicken and "sauce"

This is a healthier recipe that I got from sparkrecipes.com. This is also a kid/family favorite of ours! Enjoy!
