Jina - Yay, I'm so happy you're back, although I'm sorry that you have been feeling zero energy. :( Have you asked your doctor about it? I'm just wondering if it could be related to low iron or something like that. I hope that you start feeling better soon; walking around like a zombie is no fun at all. Also, yes, welcome to 23 weeks! Time is just flying! I feel like last time I looked, you were at 15 weeks and I was at 7 weeks. :) What does your crib look like? What color of wood? What basic style. How exciting that you are getting ready to start on the nursery!
Jessica - I'm sorry that your brother is still being such a butthead. I can't believe that he expects to be paid to wash the dishes! Seriously?!? Tell him that grown ups don't get allowances. LOL
Okay, I have to go, but I will be back later to write more.
Jessica, thank you! Yeah...I thought the second trimester was the honeymoon stage. lol
Yeah...it is a little...no...a lot rediculous to expect to be paid for doing chores around the house at his age! It does sound like it's time for him to get his own place and learn some responsiblities. You can't take care of him forever....especially since you have an actualy baby on the way! I think wanting to live your life with your DH and your new baby is totally understandable. Please don't let him guilt you into thinking otherwise. ((Hugs))
I'm sorry your DH isn't keen on going to get an early scan. That sucks...why doesn't he want to go? Is it the drive? Well, 20 weeks will be here before you know it! The second trimester has been flying by for me. Do you have any guesses? :)
Alissa, my iron levels are borderline. I'm very slightly anemic but I guess my levels aren't quite low enough to be on iron supplement. Which is fine by me....I think I'd rather be tired all the time than be severly constipated! lol
I know! I cannot believe I'm 23 weeks. It seems like time is starting to speed up and I'm not sure I like it. Wow, you're 15 weeks already...I so wish you were getting an early gender scan...lol...I'm so excited for you guys to find out! I'm sure you're itching to start decorating the nursery too. :D
We're getting the Oeuf Classic Crib in Walnut. Here is a pic...I'm so in love with it!
Ladies, I'm so sorry I haven't been around :( I haven't had time to catch up either.. so forgive me.
Jessica, I would do that scan anyway.. lol be sneaky! jk
Jina, I love that crib!! LOVE IT!!
Alissa, hi :) Did you find a babysitter for tonight?
I've been super tired lately ladies.. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Can't wait for second trimester to start getting some energy back.. even though I know it may not happen!
Nidia - So nice to see you! How are you feeling, other than tired? Are you having much m/s? I can't believe that you are 9 weeks already! Less than a month to go of the dreaded first tri! :woohoo:
Yes, my parents are watching T tonight! DH and I are going out for a quick bite to eat, and then the play starts at 7. It's kind of silly because it's just a high school play, but I am excited have been looking forward to it all day. It's just nice to get out and do something kind of different from our usual routine, and the play is supposed to be funny which I am all about. I'm not a huge fan of dramas; I loves me some comedy. :D
Jina - Oooooh, I love your crib! Very modern and cool! :D
I can understand not wanting to be on iron; being constipated HURTS! I hope you get some energy back soon though. That's just no fun to be so continually tired all of the time.
I totally agree, the time has been FLYING lately. It kind of sucks that I have to wait another month and a half to find out, but the way things have been going I feel like that will be here before I know it anyway. I do get jealous when I hear people on my BB discuss having only a couple more weeks to go though....lol....this is so completely dumb, but since I'm due at the beginning of the month I feel like I should get to be one of the first to find out. :P *stomps foot, pouts* I haven't really asked DH about an early gender scan though because I know he would have to take off work, and I know how much he hates to do that, and realistically I know it doesn't really matter if I find out at 16 weeks or 21 weeks (which is how far along I'll be....); it won't change anything. DH would probably do it if I threw a big enough fit, but I just don't feel like arguing about it when I know he'll say "Why can't you wait until fall break?" and I know that rationally there isn't a good reason why I can't. So Jessica, you and I are in the same boat, except that you may find out before me at this rate. :P LOL!!!!!
Alissa - I'm gonna schedule the earliest gender scan that I can. I generally go in on Wednesdays because that's when I'm off but I can make a Monday/Tuesday work LOL. DH "says" he's going with me, but we'll see.
AFM, I posted this in April, but.. I FOUND the babys heartbeat today! I'm not sure why I felt the need to check it - I was in the middle of cooking dinner. I stopped everything and like a minute later I found it. Couple hours go by (I had called DH to tell him!) and he was home and I asked him if he wanted to hear it. He hesitated...then said yeah. I found it again (with some trouble this time) and he listened to it for about 30 secs before the baby moved away. He didn't seem excited or pleased or anything. He's so weird. He tells me with excitement in his voice that he tells people at work that we're gonna have a baby. But then when it comes down to something "real" with the baby, he's distant. UGH. MEN!
Alissa, how was the play? I hope it was funny and you had a good time :) Adult/couple time is always nice no matter what you do!!
Jessica, maybe he's intimidated? Like he's so excited about the baby but then he gets cared/nervous? IDK.. men are funny sometimes.
AFM, I have had some ms.. thankfully it's not super bad.. I didn't have any with Noah though.. so this is different. I feel like my hormones are worse too.. I cry when I listen to a song.. sob like a baby watching a movie.. etc. Geez! Lol.. gotta love it!
Nidia, sorry you've been so tired. I feel your pain! I've been pretty exhausted too. I hope you get some energy back in the second trimester. Not much longer to go! :D
Jessica, yay! So glad you got to hear the h/b!!! :D That is so awesome! Sorry your DH didn't seem excited. I'm sure he was though. Men are strange creatures! I bet once he finds out the gender he'll feel more connected. I've also heard that a lot of times some men just don't get attached until the baby is born because it just doesn't seem "real" to them yet. I think it's cute that he's telling people at work! :D
Alissa, lol...I totally get it. I would feel like I should find out first too. ;) 21 weeks will be here before you know it! Oh and it'll be the week of Thanksgiving so think how fun it'll be telling people! We're taking our babymoon that week so I'll be counting down the days with you. :D
I hope you enjoyed the play!
Lynn, get your tush over here and join in preggo lady! lol
AFM, I had an appointment with my OB today. Everything went well. My blood pressure, urine sample and weight looked good. I go back in 4 weeks to see her again and get the GD test as well. Oh and we're also getting a 4d scan that day too! So excited to see baby boy again. Does anyone know anything about the whooping cough vaccine? My OB recommended the whooping cough and the flu shot. I'm not getting the the flu shot since I haven't had the flu in 10 years and I've also never gotten the flu shot either. I am thinking about getting the whooping cough vaccine though.
Anyone doing anything fun this weekend? We were going to go to the Texas Fair this weekend but UT is playing OU in Dallas this weekend and it's supposed to rain so we're going to go the weekend after. I think we're going to clear out the guestroom this weekend...we'll see if we actually get around to doing it. lol
I'm making vegetable beef soup tonight. I'm pretty excited because I'm going to attempt to recreate Souper Salad's vegetable beef soup. Hopefully I can get pretty close! It's also overcast and rainy here..love it. Hope everyone is having a good Thursday. :)
Jessica - I really think that for a lot of men, it just doesn't really become real until the baby is actually here. Lots of my friends (and I myself) have experienced the phenomenon of men who just aren't nearly as excited about being a daddy as we want them to be....and then the baby gets here, is finally something real they can interact with and see and hold, and THAT'S when they really fall in love.) I seriously think that for most men, the baby is kind of theoretical until they can actually pick it up. Don't worry too much, it will pass once the baby comes. In the meantime, you can just come here and obsess with us instead. :D
Nidia - I'm glad to hear that your m/s hasn't been too bad! I hear you about being emotional though. I cry at the drop of a hat these days, or get mad. I was furious at one of my coworkers this morning, and while what she did was annoying, I think under normal circumstances I wouldn't have gotten quite so riled up. Does Noah know that he is going to be a big brother yet? If so, is he excited?
AFM - The play last night was....kind of weird, actually, but good nonetheless. It was called "Big Love" and I guess it is an update on an old Greek play. Not at all what I was expecting. Lots more sex (talking about sex, not doing it...lol) and death than I would have thought was normal for a high school play. But, it was pretty entertaining, and more than anything just nice to get out and do something different for an evening.
Ugh, I have to go get my flu shot today. :P I always worry that it's going to make me sick (even though I have been getting one every year for like a decade, and it never has.) T gets to do the mist, but I guess that is not recommended for preggos, so it's the shot for me.
Jina - we must have been posting at the same time! So glad to hear that you had a good appt. Did the doctor say anything about why you have been so tired lately? I haven't had the whooping cough shot (I guess I should ask if I need one) but I am getting the flu shot today. I do it every year, more to protect T and DH than anything else because with their asthma the flu can be really really bad (T caught the flu when he was a little less than 2 and had to be hospitalized twice in one month and then be on O2 for like a week when he came home.....scary scary stuff.)
Yum, veggie beef soup sounds really really good! Maybe that will be my next crock pot adventure....;)
Nidia, did you want some of my morning sickness? This baby just won't let up!
Alissa, glad you some-what enjoyed the play. I know it's always nice to get out of the house with DH.. I always joke when we go on "dates" to AutoZone or somewhere like that, but secretly I enjoy just getting out. Wasn't it you that had something wrong with the crystals in your ear? My friends boyfriend has been super dizzy for a few months and he just got diagnosed with loose crystals.
Jina, I don't get a flu shot. I get sick EVERY YEAR, even with the flu shot, so I just don't get one anymore. I've never heard of a whooping cough vaccine, but I should probably check it out.
AFM, Man, I got so furious at work today! You all know that I've been working another store for 7 weeks now, I've complained about it enough. Well, the district manager wanted me to work at that other store Saturday too (he told me Friday was the last day) and I got mad...and he was on the phone so I told him it's been 7 weeks and this is getting old. He was like, did you really just get on the phone to yell at me? I said yes, I did.. it makes me feel better.
I know it wasn't smart to cop an attitude with the DM but dang it, it's SEVEN WEEKS. NOONE else has stuck up for me, so obviously I had to do it myself. And then he gets an attitude back because I was telling him how I feel. I just want to SMACK that man! I don't even know if he really *knows* who I am, but I've let him have it once before because he was telling me he knew I wasn't doing my job correctly and I knew I was...and I explained how I HAD to be doing it correctly and he said that inventory levels show otherwise and I went OFF. I do my job correctly, thank you. Sorry about your inventory.
Anyhow, DH had school tonight, he's on his way home now. We'll sit up for about an hour and go to bed. It's not usually so bad - I usually get to spend Wednesday night with him but he spent all night cutting grass yesterday, so I really haven't been able to spend time with him since Sunday.
I had a horrible night last night. I woke up in EXTREME pain around my belly button. It was like a ring of pain - it went all the way around to my back. I thought it was too high to be baby but too low to be a stomach ache, so... I had no clue. I bawled my eyes out in the living room and thought about waking DH to take me to the hospital. But both of us are saving our vaca for the first of November (I know that's a stupid reason not to go to the hospital). I've been sick, so I've been coughing. Well, as I'm crying, I start to gag and cough (I even peed once when coughing) and threw up. And threw up. And threw up. It was horrible. I couldn't stop coughing/throwing up/crying long enough to breathe. Finally, around 2 in the morning, it stopped. I went back to bed (but had to get up at 3 for work) and gagged at work today, but didn't really have to throw up. I did manage to leave about an hour early and went and napped in my car..LOL This morning, I told DH that I was thinking about waking him to take me to the hospital (which is literally right around the corner) and he told me that I'm more important than any vacation days..lol. Maybe I over did it yesterday, I cleaned my butt off around here (even though to look you can't tell). I dunno, but as soon as I got done throwing up, the pain went away. It sucked.
Today on the news I saw that they discovered a new planet. It's 3900 degrees Fahrenheit, but it's made out of solid DIAMOND. That's pretty awesome!
