Jessica - :woohoo: Welcome to 15 weeks! *Happy Dance*
Eek, I'm sorry that you were in so much pain yesterday. I hope that you are feeling better now. I wonder what it was??? Do you think it was just like a stomach bug or something since you threw up so much too? I agree with your DH; you are way more important than vacation time.
So are you still going to have to work at the other store on Saturday? Oh, and have you had any more run ins with the Crazy Food Lady? :D
AFM - T and I are on our own tonight and tomorrow. Hubby has a convention that he is going to Friday night and then Saturday day. I am trying to decide what I'm going to go for dinner tonight, and I'm thinking about going Jina's Green Bean Chicken casserole since it is so easy and T liked it. Other than that, we don't have much going on. I am sooo ready for this work day to be over already! I'm just tired....Bleh
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Alissa - I do feel better. I slept fine last night, so I'm not sure what it was. I don't think it was a bug, but then I wouldn't really know because I'm so used to vomiting EVERY DAY that I wouldn't know if I caught a bug or not. However :-) this morning, I thought it'd be a great idea to stop at the 7-11 in my area, versus the one nearer the other store. Yeah, BAD IDEA. The paper mill was STINKY this morning and I was coughing and gagging and ....yeah, I threw up all over the parking lot. Oops! Atleast it was super early so no one saw it..lol. Other than that, I've felt okay all day. Well, stomach wise anyway. No, I don't have to go to the other store tomorrow. I SHOULD be done over there. My DM had already gotten someone by the time I called him back yesterday. Crazy food lady hasn't said anything to me lately. I think she was going to say something yesterday because she saw me eating, hesitated, but then she kept talking about something else. I hope you have a great time with T this weekend! And thanks for the happy 15 weeks :-)
AFM, DH is off this weekend. His moms bday was yesterday, so they're throwing a surprise party on Sunday for her. Tomorrow, I'm gonna try to clean the house. My little girl dog has been dragging clothes underneath the bed and we just found 'em yesterday - so I have another load or two to get done. I need to clean off the living room table, it's become a dumping ground of meds and...shampoo? LOL We're eating Chinese tonight, I hope it stays down. It certainly didn't last time. Haha.
Jessica - How was the surprise party? That sounds like so much fun! I threw a surprise party for DH when he turned 30, and it was a lot of work and planning, but a lot of fun once it was all said and done.
Dogs are so weird, aren't they? Our dog (girl) has recently been pulling my underwear out of the laundry sorter (not even sure how she gets it out of there, she's not that big) and then drags it into T's bedroom and chews on it. Gross!!! Plus, T keeps asking "Why is this underwear in my room???"
I hope you all had a great weekend!
Mine was okay. I had a nasty headache on Friday (I blame the flu shot!!!) so we just stayed in and ordered Chinese food. It was not the best Chinese food, so I didn't eat much. Saturday, I took T to gymnastics and to get a haircut, and then later we went to a consignment shop that sells used but good condition kid and maternity clothes. I got a few more things for myself (and I'm now done buying maternity stuff, I swear!!!) and we got an adorable little sports coat that T is going to wear to the bat mitzvah in FL in a couple of weeks. That was the real reason for going; I did NOT want to spend $80 on a suit jacket he will most likely only wear once. But then once we were there and they also had some really cute maternity stuff, I got suckered in. Lastly we went to see DH's grandma at the nursing home to visit and also so I could thank her for the maternity money.
On Sunday I took T to see Frankenweenie. It was too scary for him, which I did not immediately realize because I fell asleep in the theater! I was out! But then I felt him jump beside me and kind of whimper, so I woke up and held him in my lap for the rest of the movie. He was fine after that, but I guess there was a part that he found really scary (that I totally missed) where the animals turn into "creatures" (his word )
That's about it for us. Did you all have a nice weekend?
Alissa, LOL that you fell asleep in the theater. A really bad habit I have is I can't sleep with the TV on. Or during a movie. I hate it, because every boyfriend/husband (that makes me sound like I've had a ton) loves to sleep with the TV on and I can't do it! I concentrate on what's on instead of going to sleep. Luckily, I straight up told Tim that there's no TV in the bedroom. Well, we have a TV in there, but it's mainly for him when I'm not here. Glad you got some more maternity clothes! I'm still in dire need of black pants. I was going to get a pair, but DH spent too much money at Walmart (I'll get to that in a minute). And LOL about your dog. My little girl dog will pull out dirty underwear and drag them into the floor...she just lays on them though...LOL. My first mini schnauzer used to pull out..um.. gross things from the trash and chew them and spread 'em all over the floor. If I brought company home, I'd have to make 'em stand outside while I scouted the house LOL
AFM, what a weekend!! Saturday I worked a half of a day. DH was off, so when I got home we went to go pick up his truck (the one he hit a deer with) then we went to his moms for a couple hours, then I went grocery shopping and he went home. We played Skip-Bo that night and I FINALLY won! WOOT! Usually I let him win anyway, he's such a bad sport when he loses. Sunday, his uncle was throwing his mom a surprise bday party. DH did NOT want to go and since we had spent some hours with his mom the day before, we ended up going out to his other uncles house to shoot his guns again. So much fun! I have a lot of pics, I may post some of them on the pic thread later. It was just us there and we had a blast. Then (this blew my mind) Tim took the truck back in the woods to show me the rest of right side of his uncle's property and then we walked in the woods on the other side of his property...and Tim asked me did I wanna move out there? I had said I enjoy it out there, it's quiet, the neighbors are far enough away to get some peace.. His uncle has 3 1/2 acres and Tim was talking about buying it. That'd be almost a 2 hour drive for him to drive to work...and I won't do that to him, it's already an hour from where we are now...but hearing him talk about it made me happy. I know this is dorky - we're married and I want to spend my life with him, but when he makes big plans that involve me way down the road, makes me feel good inside. We also had a good conversation, where no one got mad and got some things laid out on the table and ..it was nice.
Then we got home and his dog had crapped, stepped in it and tracked it ALL OVER the house. Super fun! OMG it stunk. Speaking of stunk, yesterday and today my stomach has been good. *fingers crossed* maybe it's going away! Oh I hope so!
Oh - the Wal Mart thing. I sent DH in with my debit card to buy a box of ammo for his pistol so I could shoot it. Yeah, he came out with two boxes, and a variety of other stuff. I was like..seriously? The boxes are 40 bucks a piece... I mean, the money was in there, but it was extra for me to get SOME PANTS. sheesh.
Alissa, no...I totally forgot to mention the fact that I'm pretty much exhausted 24/7. Oh wow, that is pretty scary about T having to be hospitalized! Maybe I'll have to start reconsider the flu shot after baby boy is here.
The Veggie Beef soup was a success! It was sooo good and easy to make and oh so filling. It was a hit with my Hubby and you know how he likes to grumble about eating soup. lol I'll post the recipe on the recipe thread.
LOL@ you falling asleep in the theater! I bet it was a cute sight to see! A pregnant chick asleep in the theater! lol ;) That happened to me once. I totally fell asleep during the Grinch like 12 or 13 years ago when it came out. lol Awww....how cute about T needing to be held. :D
Glad you scored more maternity stuff! That was really sweet of your DH's grandma. :D
Jessica, wow, so glad that you're feeling better! How is your m/s? Is it going away too? I hope so!
Eeek! Sorry about your dog tracking poop all over the house! I bet that was no fun at all. Did you make DH clean it up?
Glad you guys had a nice weekend. It sounds like you guys are finally getting on the same page and that's awesome. :D lol...sorry about the bullets. I just have to roll my eyes. Men are so weird about ammo. Hubby has a ammo canister and a backpack FULL of bullets for his guns. Though, secretly, it makes me happy to have them here just in case the world ends or something...lol.
That would be so awesome to have 3 1/2 acres! Too bad it's so far from where you guys work. Maybe you guys could look for a piece of property a bit closer to where you live now?
I can't wait to see pics later if you decide to post them. I love Virginia...it's so beautiful there. You and Alissa are lucky to live in such beautiful states! I'm stuck here in good ol' Austin, Texas. lol ;)
Anyway, congrats on being an orange!!! :D
AFM, I had a pretty good weekend. I can't even remember what all I did. I'm still freaking exhausted all the time so I feel pretty dumb most days. lol
We officially started on our nursery yesterday. We cleared out the room and Hubby has started putting on the first coat of primer. Yay!
Um...my mind is totally blank right now...I'll have to come back and post more later. I used up what little brain power I had already. Ugh! I hate feeling like this...I feel like a mindless zombie most days!
Jina - How exciting to be officially starting the nursery! What color are you going to paint it? I'm sorry that you are still feeling so completely wiped out all of the time. That is no fun at at all and must be very frustrating. I really really hope that you start feeling better soon.
Speaking of nurseries, did I tell you what we have decided about our nursery? We have a 3 bdrm house, and currently our spare bedroom is mostly being used as storage (was an office, and then we started moving a bunch of things around and it turned into temporary storage....) DH is in the process of moving the stuff out and into the basement, and stripping this awful old wall paper off. I was talking to T, and he said that he wants the new room and wants it painted "like the Hulk and Superman and Batman" so I think we are going to paint the spare bedroom for T and get some of those large wall decals and move his stuff in there, and then keep T's current room pretty much exactly as it is (except for some girly touches if this baby is a girl) because his room is already painted like a nursery (light blue walls with white animal shapes stenciled in a line about chest high all around the room.) T is definitely outgrowing the whole "nursery" motif and we would probably re-do his room in the next year or so anyway, so this is actually less work than doing two rooms this year. :)
Jessica - That is really sweet that your DH is thinking and planning for the future, even if you might not end up moving to his uncle's land because of your jobs. I like it when DH does stuff like that too. I guess DH has been sort of browsing the housing market near his school recently since I told him that if he wants T to go to his school district we have to actually move to that school district. It makes me happy that he took me seriously and is already trying to start planning for it. Very sweet. LOL about the ammo from Walmart. Boys!
AFM - Not much going on except I am 16 weeks today!!! Can you believe that???? I feel like I never really thought I would make it this far.
Oh, and I'm waiting to hear from DH if I need to take time off work to drive this kid that he has sort of mentored to Greeley CO. This kid has had a very unstable homelife (like homeless off and on for most of his senior year), and then this year he went up to Greeley for college, but there was a problem with his scholarship (I'm not sure exactly what) and he couldn't afford to stay in school so he dropped out and is now homeless again. He's a really really good football player, so his coaches are trying to get his scholarship sorted out and get him a job to make up the difference so he can go back to school. They are hoping to have it all set up by Friday, but it could happen as early as today or tomorrow. DH can't take off work because he has conferences today and tomorrow, so I said that I would drive him since it is way easier for me to get time off. This kid is a total sweetheart who has been given a really bum rap in life, and I'm happy to help him if I can. Otherwise, if it is Friday DH will take him.
Can I also say that it makes my heart melt knowing that my DH is the kind of guy that goes out of his way to help kids who are stuck in a bad position, even once they aren't his students anymore? DH did a lot to help this kid when he was his student, and has stayed in touch with him for the past two years to keep helping him and advising him when he needs it. He (DH) is a good person. :)
Alissa... :yahoo: 16 weeks!!! :clappy:
That is completely sweet of your DH to look out for people like that, and sweet of YOU to volunteer to drive him. My DH loves to talk crap about people he doesn't know (mainly while driving, he has horrible road rage) - but he's also the first one to stop and offer assistance to people broken down on the side of the road .. I'm excited that you guys get to have a nursery! I guess I'll have to live through you, my nursery is non existent. My bro is in the only other bedroom and we've got space in the living room for the baby stuff (it's kind of an "L" shaped room), but it's going to stay a living room...and just have baby stuff in it. We'll keep the crib in the bedroom. Thankfully there's enough room for that too.
Jina - sorry you're so tired all the time! My goodness, you're supposed to be in the "easy" trimester. I hope your energy levels pick back up. I'd give you some of my energy but I'm pretty much burned out LOL
AFM, I come home and take a nap everyday after work. Well, I'm home but I'm petrified of falling asleep in case that pain happens again. I slept through the night fine and I made sure that I ate lunch well before I got home (I ate at 11, it's after 2 now), so I could digest it. I called a friend, explained that I didn't really want to take a nap.. I'm in a really good mood anyway and I know a nap will make that go away. But she was tired and going home to take a nap, so I guess I will too. I hope it turns out okay. Nothing really exciting to report - I have a doc appt tomorrow at... umm...930 I think. I'm supposed to do a glucose test but I don't think I'm gonna... the thought of drinking that stuff makes me wanna hurl. But other than the episode yesterday with my stomach (which wasn't a morning sickness thing, it was just a weird pregnancy thing I think) I haven't been sick. I DID take a Zofran today because some idiot put boxes of FISH that had thawed out near my desk...and they stunk so bad...I had to take a pill and vacate that area.
Jessica - Eeeeewwwwwwwwww I can't believe someone let fish thaw by your desk! How freaking gross!!!!! I would probably hurl too, and I'm not even having any m/s. Blech!!!!
I don't want to give you unsolicited advice (but I'm gonna - how's that?) but I think you should take the glucose test, at least at some point (maybe you can reschedule it for when you're really out of the woods as far as m/s goes.) If you do have GD, you will want to know and treat it so you don't have pregnancy complications from it (like a ginormous baby - but also like vascular problems and eye problems or even stillbirth -) I hope I'm not being totally out of line, I have just come to think of you as a friend and I want you to have a healthy happy pregnancy and baby. I had GD with T and most likely have it again with this baby, so they pretty much drilled the dangers of not controlling it into my head.
Oh, I am definitely doing the glucose test!! I didn't mean I'm not doing it, I meant I'm not doing it tomorrow. I'll throw the stuff right back up anyway.. so it wouldn't work.
But thank you! I'll take advice ANY time!
