Jessica, :bigarmhug: I'm sorry you're brother is giving you so much grief!
Lynn, How are you?
Alissa, yay for making progress with T's room! GL with your Glucose test! :D
AFM, I'm sorry I've been MIA. We came back from our babymoon (which was wonderful!) and I immediately got sick with a cold/flu/allergies. I'm still sick! It's been a week and a half of misery. I guess I'm starting to feel somewhat human again but my head is still congested and my throat is still very irritated. I haven't had the energy to do much of anything. Being sick while pregnant sucks. I don't have a fever anymore which is awesome but I just want to get back to feeling normal asap!
I have so many things I want to share with you ladies but they will have to wait until I'm feeling a bit better. I'm having a hard time concentrating on what I'm writing...lol.
I hope you are all well and I hope to be back chatting with you all very soon!!!!
Jessica - :bigarmhug: I'm sorry that your brother is being kind of a butt right now. I am really hoping that once he has a chance to really get used to being out on his own and seeing what the real world is like, he will come to appreciate how well he had it when he lived with you, and how well you treated him.
Are there high fees to get out of your phone contract? I am just thinking that since he's not living with you, it may become easier for him to forget to pay you for it each month, and it might be better for him to get his own phone deal now.
Jina - Can't wait to hear all about your babymoon! I hope that you had a wonderful time, and took LOTS of pictures that you will share with us. :D I'm sorry that you've been so sick. I hope that you start feeling much better soon. Ugh, the one bad thing about pregnancy is that it reallu does a number on your immune system, so that does NOT help when you are trying to overcome illness.
AFM - Not much going on, just trying to figure out what gift to make for DH this holiday season. We have been trying to give each other only hand made presents for the past couple of years, but I am not very creative or crafty, so it's hard for me to come up with stuff. I am thinking about something to do with our dog (he's obsessed with our dog) like maybe a really cool picture/painting of her, but I'm also not a great artist. Anyone have any good ideas?
Alissa, ya know.. I was hoping the same thing. However, Stevie hasn't even "moved out" yet. His stuff is still here. He was staying with his girlfriend, but her dad got back home (he's in the service) so I'm not sure if he's there anymore. He still calls/texts me about stupid things. Like he asked if he had health insurance and I said no and he whined about needing to go to the doctor. Normally that would tug at me and I'd find a way to pay for it, but not this time - I'm so totally done. I wish he'd get his stuff out, but even more so I wish he'd just leave me the house key. I also have to deal with DH because he's ready for Stevie to be out as well.
Yes, it's 400 bucks to drop the phone contract PLUS Stevie just bought that phone and unless he got another contract by himself with TMobile, he wouldn't be able to use it. I know that'd piss him off real good. I don't feel like dealing with it right now.
Jina - sorry you're sick! Hope you feel better soon so you can share details about your vacation!!
AFM, I'm off today. I need need NEED to get atleast the kitchen clean, but as of right now all I've done is migrate from the bedroom to the couch...lol
Jessica - Yikes, it sounds like he definitely needs to wake up and get his crap together. I hope that he is able to get it resolved soon so that he is out of the house (meaning all of his stuff too) and starting to take care of himself like a grown up. Where will he go if he can't stay at his girlfriend's anymore? Do you think he will get his own place? That would be good because then he would probably need his furniture.
Jina - Hope you are feeling better today. We need some new belly pics to admire. :)
AFM - I am feeling very sleepy today. I was up and down all night last night due to weird stomach pains (thankfully they are gone now) so I am thinking it is going to be an early night tonight. Other than that, not much going on, just ready for the work week to be over. I am so over it already.
Jessica, it really sounds like your brother needs a taste of reality. He is an adult and needs to learn to be more responsible. I think living on his own would really be good for him. I hope he gets his stuff out of your house so you can move on from this and focus on other things. ((HUGS)) I hope you enjoyed your day off yesterday. :D
Alissa, I hope you are feeling better. What kind of stomach pains were you having?
AFM, I'm still pretty congested and feel weak but I feel so much better today than I've have all week.
Our babymoon was a blast and now back to reality. I can't believe I'm 31 weeks! Yikes, I don't feel ready at all. I still have so much to do and buy. I'm not having a baby shower so I'm buying everything which is both fun and stressful at the same time. I know I'm pissing people off by buying everything myself but I feel really really weird about people "showering" me with gifts. So far the nursery is a disaster! There is stuff everywhere! I really need to start organizing in there instead of just tossing everything in there and closing the door...lol. I'll post pics as soon as it looks somewhat decent.
I have another appointment coming up next week. Then we have our private birthing/baby class in a few weeks. The instructor is coming to our house and we're getting a crash course since M does not have time to attend the classes at the hospital. We still need to pick a pediatrician and tour the hospital. I'm having a hard time finding curtains for the nursery and starting to feel a little overwhelmed. I still need to cook and freeze meals as well as start thinking about packing a hospital bag. Yikes. I'm usually so organized but I just have been very meh and go with the flow with everything and now I'm feeling pressed for time. Ahhhh! LOL I know I still have 8 weeks but at the same time it's like ONLY 8 weeks?
How are things going with everyone else? I cannot believe how close we are all getting! :D
Alissa, I meant to reply about handmade gifts earlier. Maybe you could just bake him some kick *** sweets? Does he have a sweet tooth? Or maybe make a coupon book for him for massages, delicious meals and a date night. I'm not very crafty so I don't have a lot of ideas...sorry.
I haven't really even started Christmas shopping....ugh! Usually Christmas is my favorite holiday but this year it's just a huge PITA! Gah!
Alissa, he's staying (or atleast, I think he is) with a friend of his down the road. I'm so ready for him to get out and get everything of his out of the house, but honestly I don't need that space as of right now, I'm not in any huge rush. I think DH is though - not really in a rush to get it out, but he wants it out because it's Stevie's.
Jina, glad you feel better today! Your list of stuff to do made me tired LOL I'm so excited for you though! 8 weeks! Gosh it just seems like yesterday that I had just found out I was pregnant and you weren't that far in front of me. Now it seems like you've bounded ahead (even though, obviously that didn't happen lol). If if makes you feel any better, I haven't done ANYTHING or bought anything for the baby and I have done zero Christmas shopping either. Yay!
AFM, I'm about to go post on this in the April BB, but.. today I got up from my desk and it was a major ouchie. It was about 2 inches from my belly button on the left side... it felt like I needed to stretch it out, so I rubbed it and moved around. It did subside, but every time I sat down and got back up, the same pain would occur. I'm not sure what it is, but it definitely freaked me out. That, on top of me turning the wrong way and throwing my knee out of whack - I've been in some sort of pain all day long. My MIL has a dog that's realllll old and she stopped eating and her poop was reddish looking, so...I assume it's only a matter of time. They cooked some hamburger for her and she did eat that, but... it's going downhill. I remember when I had to put my dog to sleep 2 years ago - it was horrible. I don't think DH is real attached to that dog (he likes the one we have here better, even though he's annoying), but I'm sure it's still gonna be tough, especially because his mom is gonna be tore up.
I ate at Wendy's today. I don't know WHY I continue to try to eat. UGH. But then if I don't eat I get sick. If I snack I'm usually okay, but I get tired of the same thing and then get hungry. It's like a never ending cycle. DH has school tonight and I'm supposed to go hang out with my "friend", but we'll see. Hope you ladies are doing well.
Jina - The pain I had was really bizarre. I was eating dinner on Tuesday, and all of the sudden I just got this weird pain in my stomach near my belly button, to the right hand side. It was a small spot (like an inch or two in diameter) and felt like a stomach cramp, but it just never unclenched. Like, for hours. We ate dinner around 6:30, and it still hurt when I went to bed at 10, and then woke me up at midnight still hurting. It wasn't severe, but definitely uncomfortable, and it especially hurt to lie down because it felt like it was stretching the spot and that hurt. But then I woke up on Wednesday morning, and it was fine, and hasn't hurt since. Weird! I guess maybe it was just a muscle stretching or something.
You are getting so close now! I can't believe it! I'm soooo excited for you. You are going to love love love having a little boy. I hear you about having so much to do and feeling overwhelmed. We still have a ton of work to do on T's room so we can move him in and move the baby into the nursery, and I need to go through and find all of T's newborn stuff in the basement, take stock, and wash it and put it away, and buy stuff that we need. We still need to start talking about names (we have thrown a few out there, but nothing that we are crazy about yet.) Also, I need to get on the ball about listening to my Hypnobabies stuff. I've tried, but a) they want you to do it for like an hour a day, and who has time for all that? b) They are too relaxing and I just fall right asleep anyway. and c) I feel kind of silly about the whole thing anyway. Blah. Oh well, we will get it all done (all of us will!)
Can't wait to see a picture of your nursery when you have it the way you want it. :)
Jessica - I don't blame your DH for just wanting everything out so that the thing can be resolved. I hope your brother gets on the ball soon; you guys don't need to be stressing about him right now. :)
:bigarmhug: about your MIL's dog. It is so hard to lose a pet; they really are members of the family.
Sorry that you are still sick when you eat certain things. Have you found a pattern for what makes you sick and what doesn't?
AFM - Not much going on today. Just kind of hanging out at work. LOL This is our slowest time of the year, so I'm basically hanging around with not much to do, which is okay because it gives me plenty of time to google baby names and read PO. :)
All you really need are some diapers, a baby bed, a car seat, and a few clothes. Everything else will come with time. When Alyssa was born I was 6 weeks early and had spent the last few weeks on bed rest. I had nothing ready, but she was born just the same and everything was fine. You will be fine as well. Don't stress yourself out over it.
