Jina - My mouth *literally* watered when I read "Mac and Cheese and Kielbasa." That sounds like it would sooooo hit the spot. I have been craving stuff like that lately, and of course I have not been eating stuff like that lately because I have to watch my carbs so carefully. It sounds like you really are ready for baby boy to get here. I cannot WAIT to hear all about his birth story, and maybe see a picture or two? :D So So So exciting. I just know that you are going to absolutely love being a mom, and it's amazing to think that your journey to having a baby is almost done. I'm so happy for you. ((((HUGE HUG)))))
Yay for a girls night with your neice! That sounds like a blast for both of you!
Jessica - Sounds like your energy kicked into high gear today! That made me tired just reading about it!!!! I'm sorry that you didn't find your license, but it sure sounds like you got a lot of other things done today. I hope you find it soon though. That would make me really nervous until I either found it or got a new one. LOL about not wanting Tim to drive your car. You should make him put it in writing that if he wrecks it he has to buy you a brand new one...LOL Maybe that would make him be a little more cautious!
Lynn - Oooooooh, I cannot WAIT to hear what you're having!!!! How exciting!!!!! I agree, I think I definitely felt better and more relaxed with this one after my anatomy u/s. It is just really really reassuring to know that baby looks great in there and has all of his or her fingers or toes. :) Do you have a preference between boy or girl?
AFM - So my dr called me back yesterday and they want me to walk for 20 minutes after meals. Which makes sense. I was blaming my blood sugar on my antibiotics, but I have been really really good about walking about an hour a day for the most of my pregnancy, and then this week for whatever reason I just kind of flopped off the wagon and have been maybe MAYBE doing 15 minutes a day. But exercise can have a big effect on blood sugar (even just a little bit of exercise) so they told me to try that first before they put me on meds. Sure enough, I did my hour (3 x 20 minutes) yesterday and 40 minutes so far today, and my blood sugar has been fine. Yeesh! I guess that's it then. It's actually easier to walk during the week because we have a treadmill in the work and we get about an hour and a half of breaks a day (hour lunch and 2 15 minute breaks) that we can split up however we want. I'm more worried about the weekend, but I guess it will be good to get T out and have him go for a walk with me. :)
Went to T's Kindergarten Info Session last night, and I have to say that I'm really excited for him! It sounds like they have a great program, and the principal assured us that we are in even though we don't live in the district yet because DH works for the district. So that's exciting. We found out that their mascott is the Tigers, which T was double psyched about. LOL
That's about it for me. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Alissa, I posted this in April as well, but I'm really glad you found the culprit for the high sugar. I don't think I'd be walking in the cold weather you have there - maybe walk in the house..LOL (I know you said had a treadmill at work.)
AFM, UGH, I feel like CRAP. Everyone hurts... my back and the back of my knee especially. I've always had issues with the back of my knees hurting, the doc (when I was like 5) said it's because I don't have arches in my feet and that I needed to wear Reebok forever. Well, I think that was a load of crap because it doesn't matter what shoes I have on... and sometimes it doesn't matter what I do. But I think cleaning this weekend plus standing on a concrete floor today made it hurt. I have to take meds for it when it hurts - usually Ibuprofen works well. But I know I'm not supposed to take that and I had already taken some Tylenol for my back, so.. basically I was a straight ***** at work today. Last night, DH elbowed me in the face. He made my lip swollen and I was scared for my tooth, but that seems to be okay (knock on wood). He was semi asleep, he said his arm fell asleep and he didn't realize my face was so close to his arm. I believe him, I'm not mad but I was pretty furious last night. Only because I'm super aware of where he is during the night and I try very hard to roll over and stuff with nice gentle movements and not wake him up. Then I get nailed in the face. This is the second time he's done it, once about 3 years ago he was fighting someone in his sleep and he punched me in the side of the head. He was trying to be sweet last night, but he was halfway asleep and I was PISSED, so this morning he called and apologized over and over and over. I *might* have made him feel bad for it. We have inventory tomorrow. The last inventory, my boss threatened to write me up because we were 3000 dollars short in bread. Like, our generic bread. That's the only thing I'm in charge of ordering. He kept saying we staled out over 3000 dollars worth of bread. I kept telling him that's ridiculous because I only bring in 150 bucks worth of bread a day, so in essence I would have had to stale out an ENTIRE MONTH (since I only get it in 5 days a week). So we'll see how this one goes.
I've been on a Mexican kick lately. I mean, I've only had it twice in the past week or so, but I WANT it always. I always feel super bad for going and getting it though, because we have food at home that I could come and eat, but..sometimes I give in to the craving.. Like today...
Jessica, I'm sorry to hear you're in pain. I hope you can get rested up and feel better. Ugh about DH elbowing you...that totally sucks accident or not! I'm sure he feels terrible though.
Alissa, so glad to hear exercising seems to be helping. I hope you can continue to keep it under control. I'm sure it's a pain having to exercise so religiously at times though. But if it works it is a relatively easy fix and healthy all around.
Jina, how are you lady? Any update?
AFM, my u/s went great today. We saw nothing but healthy baby and its a girl! :yahoo: I kinda had a girl feeling but don't think I really believed it would happen. I'm still in a bit of shock. ;) You can see some pics here
Lynn, I was so excited to read about your baby girl! She is beautiful!!! How exciting!!! Are your boys excited to have a baby sister?
Jessica - Eek about your DH elbowing you in the face!!! I'm sure he absolutely didn't mean to, but what a rude awakening! I once woke up to my DH literally trying to pull my head off! LOL He was dreaming that he was, like, wrestling with a "bad guy" and was trying to take the bad guy's helmet off his head, so he grabbed MY head and was yanking. Crazy men! I hope that your lip is feeling better today, and that you start feeling better in general. I'm sure having an almost 30 week belly doesn't help your back or your knees. Too cute about craving Mexican. I bet your baby girl will like spicy food when she is older. :)
AFM - I was off today, so we took it pretty easy. My MIL had offered to host a play date for T and one of his friends at her house, so he was at her house all morning until after lunch. I made more of my mini-quiches so I will be having those for breakfast for the next several days. I also baked some sugar free flourless peanut butter cookies, but ironically I find them a smidge too sweet for my tastes. I'm trying to figure out if I can cut back on the splenda and have them still retain structural integrity because all they are is PB, splenda, and eggs. Oh well. They aren't inedible, just not quite to my tastes.
Jina - did you have your u/s today to find out if they are going to induce you this week?
Thanks Alissa! DS1 is excited, he has been saying he wanted a baby sister and insisting this a girl the whole time. I'm glad he is getting what he wanted. DS2 has no clue what's coming. :D
Oh my about DH trying to pull your head off  I don't remember DH doing anything to me in his sleep but I'm the heavy sleeper around here. When DS1 was probably about a year old...I woke up DH thinking I was trying to save Colin in my sleep. I believe I was standing up and yanking his arm so he probably felt I was trying to pull it off. LOL
Jina, thinking of you and praying all is well. Can't wait to hear how you and baby boy are doing.
Alissa, haha! It was really really hard not to dig in to the mac n cheese. I wanted to dive in with my hands and shovel it all in my mouth! I can't wait to eat it...I really should have made 2 batches...don't know what I was thinking!
Soo glad to hear that a little bit of exercise is doing the trick! :D I've been sooo freaking bad about not exercising. I seriously have not had a lick of exercise since, like, 8 or 9 weeks pregnant. Keep up the walking and hopefully you won't have any more issues. :)
Awww...I bet T is really excited to start kindergarten. I'm really happy that he is "in" even though you guys aren't living in the district quite yet. When are you guys planning on moving for sure?
Jessica, ouch!! I'm so sorry you got elbowed in the face! I would have been so p!ssed. I hope you are feeling much better today. How did the inventory go? Hopefully it went well and there were no issues. :) Mmmm....Mexican....sounds delish! What did you get yesterday? Haha...I love hearing and talking about food.
Lynn, Ahhhhhhhh!!! Congratulations on your baby girl!!! :yahoo: She is beautiful! :D:D How cute that Baby Girl will have 2 older brothers to look after her. :D
AFM, I had a lot of fun with my niece on Friday. I took her to an art studio/class thing and she was in heaven! M and I spent the rest of the weekend really cleaning the house and running last minute errands. We are allllmost ready. I still need to have the kitchen floor grout bleached and dust again one last time. The nursery is 90% complete. I just need to organize the closet which can wait and hang some more artwork which will also have to wait because they're not here yet. I promise I'll take some pics today or tomorrow.
The u/s went well. It wasn't a growth scan...it was a biophysical scan and he passed with flying colors. I have a growth scan on Monday. My OB said that if he hasn't grown then she'll go ahead and induce right away but if he is growing then I could go ahead and keep baking. I chose to go ahead and get induced next Wednesday either way. I kind of wanted to go on my own but in the end we decided it's just going to work out a lot better for us to do it this way. So....I go in on Wednesday night and they'll give me meds vaginally to soften up my cervix overnight and start the pitocin Thursday morning. Baby Boy will be here next Thursday (hopefully)! :D
I'm going to spend the next week or so getting all my ducks in a row and enjoy the peace and quiet! ;)
ETA - Oh yeah, I also wanted to say that after talking to my MIL, I feel a lot better about Baby boys size. Apparently she was only 5 lbs at full term and she's like 5'8" now. My BIL was only 6 lbs at full term and he's 6"3". So...maybe it's genetics playing a role here and there isn't actually something wrong.
Yay Lynn for your little girl!!! Since you've had two sons and are getting onward through this pregnancy, is it true that pregnancy with a girl is worse morning sickness? I'm really trying to think to myself if I got pregnant again, maybe it wouldn't be so bad morning sickness wise...lol
Alissa, LOL about your DH yanking on your head. My dad, when I'd go down there on the weekends, would always yell in his dreams. Not "real" words, but like ...I dunno how to explain it. He was quite obviously talking to someone in his dreams, but it wasn't coming out correctly. Anyway, I used to be soooo scared that he'd sleep walk LMAO. There was absolutely zero justification in that - except I read too many horror stories.
AFM, yesterday I was at work and had my sweatshirt laying on my chair and two people commented about how "pregnant" I looked. Both of them said I didn't look like that on Saturday at work. I said that my clothes make some difference because my sweatshirt hides it. Then today, two MORE people said something about how "pregnant" I'm getting. I can see it, looking straight down at my belly, but when I look in the mirror I don't see it. Since we had inventory today, my work load was dropped to zero because no one is allowed to come in and touch their product until inventory is over. So I twiddled my thumbs for 6 hours, then told the boss man I was going home. Like seriously, I think I did maybe 10 minutes worth of "work" today. I'm off tomorrow.. hopefully I can get some clothes done and the kitchen cleaned tonight, so I won't have to worry about it tomorrow. (That means I wanna be lazy tomorrow LOL)
Jina ~ I hope you're doing okay!!
OMG Jina I just read your reply and .. I'm so super excited for you!!!! Your baby boy will be here SOOOO SOON!!!
Jina - Oh my gosh Oh my gosh Oh my gosh!!!! I can't believe that your Baby Boy will be here next Thursday!!!! Eeeeeeeee that is so exciting to have a date! And I'm so glad to hear that he passed his biophysical scan with flying colors. I think your MIL is right, it is most likely genetic that is keeping your baby boy on the smaller side, plus the fact that you are a smaller person yourself. Oh my gosh, I'm just tooooo excited for you. I can't wait to hear all about your little guy's birth story. Just too exciting!
Lynn - That's so sweet and cute that your DS1 has been wanting a baby sister, and I think that it's great that she is going to grow up with two big brothers. I always wanted a big brother when I was growing up. :)
Jessica - I'm sure that you DO look pregnant - You are almost 30 weeks lady! It probably depends on what you wear though too. We went to see DH's grandma yesterday, and I was wearing a black sweatshirt and when she first saw me she commented that I don't look very pregnant, and then I turned sideways and she said it was very easy to tell when I turn sideways. Did your inventory go okay, or did that guy yell at you again?
AFM - Not much going on today. I'm 30 weeks today though! Eeeeeek, how is that possible??? I feel like everything is in fast forward now. That's about it though. :)
Jessica, Thank you! I'm getting pretty anxious here...lol. I agree, I bet you look really cute. I wish you would share a pic of your baby bump! ;) Enjoy your day off tomorrow and hopefully you can get some chores done too. :D
Alissa, Ahhhh! Happy 30 weeks (Jessica, you're almost there too!)! I'm pretty nervous yet excited too. I think I'm going to be at the hospital for 3 nights unless I have a C/S, then I'll be there for 4-5 nights. I'm sure I'll have lots of down time so I'll try to update you guys as soon as I can. Eeek!
AFM, Our house looks so weird to me right now. It's clean which is nice but there's all these foreign baby things everywhere...lol. Our living room has a giant swing and a bouncy seat(why do they makes these things so freaking enormous?!). Our bedroom has been taken over by a bassinet and changing station...looks...odd. :)
Anyhoo, here are some pics of our almost complete nursery. Oh and a belly pic too. ;)
Sorry these are so blurry...I just snapped quick pics with my phone instead of using a regular camera.
37 1/2 weeks!
I still need to organize this mess!
A peek inside the dresser...
Dresser and changing station. Oh and one of my favorite Dr. Seuss quotes. It says Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind! :D
