Two weeks!!!!!! That is sooo long! I would be demanding an u/s like tomorrow by this point. Have you taken any more pregnancy tests? Do they have lines? Wow Bonita, what a crazy emotional time for you.

I hope you get some answers, and a lot sooner than two weeks....

I do not think an ultrasound or pg test would show up at this point. A little time line.

Sunday - Positive home pg test.
    Tuesday - HCG 6
    Thrusday - HCG 12

My understanding from Google the ways this could have happened. A. It was twins. One lived, one died. B. A new pregnancy (I know know this not to be true, as I have not DTD for awhile) C. An Ectopic pg. D. A miscarriage that has retaining tissue.

I posted this in the other thread, but I don't even understand when the new, separate pregnancy would have happened. I mean, you can't get pregnant again once you're already pregnant, and you were still pregnant enough with the first one to get a positive test as of Sunday, so...even if you had DTD I can't imagine when you would have had time to ovulate, conceive, implant, and have a day or two to have your hcg levels start rising. I have to think that we can rule out new, second pregnancy, which leaves the first pregnancy. I'm really worried about you for either C or D because they both could be really serious. But, you're probably right that not much if anything would show up on an u/s yet. Are you still bleeding? What a freaking roller coaster....

I agree not much would show up on u/s and they probably wouldn't be able to confirm or deny ectopic even at this point. When can they usually confirm ectopic via u/s...I figure you have researched this already ...and how far along does an ectopic have to get before it causes big problems like rupture?

I believe at this point I would watch for signs of infection: elevated temperature and/or abdominal tenderness and also I would call the doctor and demand to be seen if you start having pain which from what I understand you will likely have with an ectopic. I also had the same question as Alissa...are you still bleeding?

I'm sorry you are going through this craziness

I am still spotting. It is not very heavy, but I have had clots over the weekend. I am at a loss to know what is happening. The twin theory is possible, but so are C and D. Who knows. You would think if my numbers were doubling, a test would be positive on Saturday.

I do not think they can tell if it an ectopic until 6 weeks.

Are you still testing Bonita? I think you should test every 2 days just to see if your HCG is still going up since your OB isn't doing anymore blood tests.

I had an ectopic in late January. I didnt have pain unless we DTD and then it hurt like hell!! I bled the whole time - they diagnosed mine at 7/8 weeks. My HCG was high - but never doubled.

I took a test a few hours ago. I posted a picture on the DYSAL board. It was positive...

What a crazy week Bonita. To go from having positive tests...to negative....to positive again. You have handled everything waaaay better than I would have. I am so curious to know what is going to happen from here.
