18 Week Appt

My appointment today wasn't exactly a reassuring experience, especially with the multiple reminders of how multiple pregnancies are high risk. The babies are alive and seemingly ok right now. They didn't do another measurement. My contractions are apparently a little too much and I'm now on "take it easy." I have to go in again in two weeks and they'll check my cervix again to see if I need to go on actual bedrest. I'll also see an MFM in 3 weeks.

I'm sorry it was not a great appt. Sad Definitely take it easy until the next appt. KUP!

I'm really sorry to hear your appt didn't go well. Are you doing an anatomy scan? I found that to be really reassuring.

Thanks, ladies. I'm doing my best not to be stressed out about it, which means I'm freaking out a bit/lot. My OB will check my cervix again in two weeks and I will be doing an anatomy scan at the beginning of August. I can't understand why the anatomy scan is not considered "medically necessary" for insurance purposes and will be $400 ... but whatever, I give up and will pay it.

really? You have to pay it? That seems lame, I would be calling the insurance, but yeah, of course you just do it. Lame! Try not to stress too much. Hugs!

Yeah, I'll give the insurance another call, but they're probably totally aware than any woman who's 20 weeks pregnant isn't in much of a fighting mood. In less stressful news, I'm excited that we're probably going to sign a lease tomorrow on a house that I NEVER would have suspected we could afford and I have learned that very slow walking leads to fewer contractions. I took 5 minutes to cry out some of my greatest concerns to my boyfriend this morning, so I think the stress levels are falling.

yay for a new place! and that you could talk with your bf, and contractions are slowing. Smile
