Had my 29 week U/S (I'm 28w5d..wow!). Babies are looking great!! Baby A is measuring 3 lbs 4 oz (65 percentile) and Baby B is measuring 2 lb 14 oz (50 percentile). I was a little worried at first about the difference (b\c they were measuring the same 4.5 weeks ago), but the tech and my dr. didn't seem to be worried, esp. because they're di/di. Anyone see a differentiation around this time to reassure me? Either way, both babies are right where they are supposed to be (or Baby A's case, ahead).
Baby A is head down, so, although there is still time to turn, she has been head down now for 10 weeks. I"m praying she stays that way. Baby B is breech, but seems to change every week. My cervix is still measuring over 3 cm and shut tight, so I hope it stays that way!!!
This past week has been tough - I'm starting to feel HUGE and tired (with 6 lbs of baby in there)...and they move CONSTANTLY. My belly is always shaking. It's exhausting, but then I get worried if they don't move. I can't imagine 6-9 more weeks of this! It is going to crawl now that my showers are over and I am in "wait and see" mode. On a good note, I have a drs appointment next Monday, and then go every other week from there on out.
On another note, I failed the 1 hour GD test. I take the 3 hour on Thurs. Wish me luck, although I have a feeling I have GD (just the way I get super shaky and my pulse races a few times a day after eating sugar haha). I'll let you know how it goes.
I was kind of hoping they would tell me start slowing down work, but no such luck!!! So back to the grind...
I hope everyone had a great holiday season!!!
I'll be honest the babes always measured a couple ounces within each other (Bradley always being bigger) but I remember being told that they can be 20% apart on measurements and they are happy. It's true that they measurements can be out close to a lb. my friend was induced @ 37 weeks because an u/s measured her daughter @ almost 8 lbs...so they induced, ended in a c-section because it was too early and her body wasn't ready...and the baby was only 6 something and low 6! 5 days before I was induced they measure B @ 5.8 and K @ 5.5 when they were born B was 5.12 and K was5.1 so they close with B but off with K. And as for work I know how U feel, I worked until I was almost 35 weeks and then took myself off because my Itching was getting out of control and I was literally going insane! My doc told me he was leaving work in my corner, when I ready he would take me off, he just gave me limitations. I found it helped time pass. Keep it up, you're doing awesome
Awesome cervix measurement!
as to weight... I can't remember if they gave me actual weight estimates, just a gestational age or something. But yes, as babies get bigger accurate measurements are harder to come by, so I would not put too much weight in it. I had an u/s with my single son at 35wks and they changed my due date and said I was only 34wks, and he was born at 36wks and was 6lbs 10oz and 19in long, which is huge for 36 wks, so obviously they were off.
I also failed the 1hr gd test, that 3hr one is not much fun, but thankfully I passed it.
Hopefully you can stay working for a bit longer, I'm sure it does help pass the time, because being home and/or on bedrest really can make tiem crawl!
Rachel, momma to 4
dd 9, ds 7, twin boys Dec 09
I nursed my twins for 2years and 2 weeks! A little sad to be all done now.
Wow! Now that you put it like that, it made it really exciting!! I had not even thought about being next. I remember when I was like 5th on the list at 11 weeks.
This pregnancy has honestly flown by. I remember just wanting to hit each milestone (10 weeks, 16 weeks, 20 weeks, 25 weeks, 30 weeks). Now I just want to make it to 34 weeks.
Overall, I feel great. I'm more tired now b\c haven't slept well the last two nights (either starving or can't get comfortable), but besides that I'm great. Babies are moving a lot, like ALL the time. I do wish they would sleep occasionally, so that I could!
I can't believe your babies are 4 months already!!! How are you surviving??
I can when remember when I was next and I was scared ****less! We are surviving. Some days/nights are worse then others but I was blessed with two very easy going babies making the transition from 1 to 3 a lot easier. You are going to do fine Meg. My biggest problem was that I didn't want to ask for help but the quickly changed ( I'm a bit of a control freak!). It's amazing how naturally it will come to you.
