    Default 31 wk appt XP

So 1st we had our growth ultrasound. Both babies are heads down and we couldnt even see their faces! They are still measuring a little ahead but wts are estimated at 4.2 and 4.3lbs! Its really no wonder why I am getting so miserable! Anyway after that I saw the OB, BP and all the basics are great. I gained 5lbs, but I have also started to swell... cervix is still closed..YIPPEE!!! He has me starting on weekly appts and my 1st NST will be in 2 weeks! EEK.. the end is nearing!!!!

So after I left I needed to drop some papers off to my Mom and realized that I was having timable BH's and some were uncomfy. They were coming about every 4 mins for over an hour! I came home ate some dinner and relaxed and thankfully they spaced out! I'll tell ya what though I think they have helped to open my eyes that these babies will be here sooner then later! Today I'm ok, but my ribs and pelvic hurt!

Yay for good appts. and for no actions going on "down there"! Babeis are getting big and you are getting so close. How far are they hoping you'll make it? and, You're only starting to swell now. I've been swelling for over a month now, I can barely get my work boots on. My doc. is doing everything differently than everyone else. I won't have NSTs and he won't check me unless I feel pressure (which to be honest I'm happy about because I do not enjoy being checked). Not sure how I feel about not having NST because its reassuring for me.

Krista he says full term for twins is 35-36 wks so that is the 1st goal. I will be having a csection so he cant 'schedule' it prior to 38 wks but of course he doubts I will make it that far! I am hoping for 8/31 I will be 36 wks and some change

I am glad the babies are growing nicely. The last 5 weeks are the worst, but the 50 million appts does make it go by faster. I got to enjoy all those nice BH's at the end of preg as well. They definitely tell you when you are over doing it or need to drink more water. I will be hoping you make it to your goal. 36 weeks and some change was good for me.

I can't believe they aren't watching you more closely. It must be due to you living in a different country. I am pretty sure NST's are pretty standard in the US for twins. I needed the NST's to make sure everything was OK. The twins were a lot different than my singleton pregnancy.

I hear you about the swelling and work shoes. I have to wear steel toed work boots to work and I just about couldn't get them on at the end of the preg. I forced myself to keep wearing them because I didn't want to go buy some new ones but I promise you I took them off the second I could after work.

Glad you had a good appt and babes are doing well, so impressed with your cervix! And be taking it easy so those babes keep baking just a bit longer!

and Krista, I'm surprised you're not having those things checked, but everyone is different. I don't know how often my doc would have done NSTs had I not been on hospital bedrest, but I had one about once a week from 31wks on, sometimes more often. Are they checking your cervix by u/s? Mine was checked at 28wks by u/s, but because Baby A was so low they could not get a good measurement w/o the vaginal u/s. But after 31wks when my doc checked and I was further dilated, he would not check me because he did not want to make things worse, maybe that is why your doc is not checking, doesn't want to move things along?

I nursed my twins for 2years and 2 weeks! A little sad to be all done now.

    Erin,

Sounds like everything is right on track for you!! Yippee for that...sorry about the discomfort and the BH's though.

36 weeks and some change sounds like an excellent plan to me!! Hang in there!!

I am sure that if the doc thought you needed NSTs you would have them... but it does seem curious. I could have done without them! They were annoying to get to and I always got my hopes up that the NST would result in needing them delivered, so whenever I went home after it, I was disappointed.
