    Default nursery update (xp)

it seems as though saturdays have turned into work on the nursery days!! my parents made the long drive again yesterday and my dad helped tripper hang the shelves in the boys' room.

    shelves

i don't have all the right do-dads up there yet, but was so excited i wanted you to see. sorry for the picture quality—it was dark and i didn't want to use a flash because then the monkey painting had big-time glare on it. anyway, you get the idea, right?

just for kicks, here's the photoshop mockup i did before we bought the shelves to see if we'd like it. we do! it's even better in person!! the chocolate and white shelves really do make all the pieces—white cribs, chocolate dresser—tie in together. yay!

    shelves

now that the shelves are up, we are rethinking the wall of photos we had planned for over the little white bench (which you can see right here). we're afraid there will be too many bits and pieces and it will look too cluttered. instead, we're contemplating one large format photo of their stuffed animals. tripper thinks it will be fun to set them up in a scene and take a photo of that. he's trying now to figure out a way to make them all stand up. stay tuned ...

ps—all the belly shots are looking great!!

Holly, your nursery is looking great!!! I like the new idea of the large photo on the wall...and think it would be fun to set a scene!

I love it, Holly! It's so cute! I think the scene of stuffed animals will be super cute! Hint, I would do two, maybe identical or just a little bit different. That way, they will grow up seeing them and they can each have one as a keepsake when they grow up. My granpdpa painted a picture of a koala on the wall of my nursery and I love having a picture of that.

I love everything that you've done.

Good idea, Nic. Scott is going to make a book rack for them like the one from Pottery Barn, and I asked him to make two so when they have their own rooms they'll each have one.

Oh, I know! My two lowest ribs are spreading, and I have to stretch all the time...it feels so good when I do that.
