    Default Final U/S

I had the final u/s today before the induction and they aren't measuring as big as I hoped. Baby A (boy) is 5lbs 13oz and Baby B (girl) is 5lbs 8oz. They have both gained more then a lbs from their last u/s but I hoping they would be a little bigger. Although, they are both measuring almost a week ahead. I know u/s are usually off, I'm just hoping that its measuring smaller then they are. So, I'm going to spend the weekend fattening these kids up!!!! Nothings off limits for the next 5 days!

That is a great plan! My girls were both a pound heavier than the u/s. The weights are based off of head and femur measurements, I believe. My girls are petite, so they measured small, but they were heavier than they appeared. They still weren't big though. They estimated their weights at 4 lb, 7 oz and 3 lb. 5 oz. K was 5 lb, 7 oz and S was 4 lb, 5 oz at birth. Make sure to ask what the mandatory weight limit is for being able to stay with you. Our hospital had a weight of 5 pounds. It didn't matter how healthy they were, they had to be in the NICU at any weight under that and had to weigh 5 pounds when released from the hospital.

I spoke to my doctor this morning and asked about their estimated weights and he said they looked great and that hes happy with their size. I believe my hospital is anything under 4 they have to be in the NICU. How early were your babies again?

I am the big anomaly on this board. My girls were born at 37w2d. They still are not very big, so I know that is just how they are built. Many of the girls with preemie twins the same age have kiddos bigger than my almost full-term twins at this point. I am very petite myself and small kiddos run on both sides of the family. Sarafina still isn't on the growth chart. She wears 9-12 month clothes and her shoes size is 3.5 (I believe that is the average for a 6-9 month old!).

My last US was around 35 weeks or so and they were both measuring around 5 lbs. I had them at 38 weeks and they were 6.5 lbs and 6.7 lbs. Although the US aren't usually accurate, it sounds like they'll be a good size if they stay baking a little longer. Good luck!!
