Hospital Bedest!

This morning I woke up thinking my bladder was incompetent...not the case...it is amniotic fluid Sad The babies levels are still normal range BUT they tell me I have to stay here on bedrest until I deliver!! While I want to stay here as long as possible for the babies..this will be a huge adjustment. I am 60 miles from my house, my two year old is staying with others, and this of course was completely unexpected. Please say some prayers for my sweet babies.....

I commented on the Aug board but again... you are in my prayers - and I can just imagine what you are going through as my hospital is 70 miles away.... I commute to my base and that is enough for me. I can imagine when I give birth how it will be just for a few days when I give birth, much less bed rest. Hang in there!! I am glad its good news and hoping it stays that way!!

Oh no, I'm so sorry.

I have no idea if they have one near you, but if there's a multiples club nearby you should join. Everyone in the club here really helps one another out, so if there's a club there they might be able to keep you company and help you get care and gear organized.

I'm so sorry that this happened to you but you'll be in great hands. They'll everything they can to keep those babies in there. Hang in there. I got so luckily with little to no complications. I'll be thinking of you. KUP

Hi! Thanks for checking Smile We are 8 days post rupture and doing well. I am always a nervous wreck and analyze every twinge. I am seeing my OB weekly with ultrasounds and a maternal fetal specialist every 2 weeks. At 23 weeks I will be readmitted for the duration and recieve steroids for lung development. I pray every day to get through one more....

Definitely sending prayers! I did at home bedrest from 28wks, and then hospital bedrest from 31-35wks. It was torture when I had two older kids at home (though mine were 4 and 6, so a little easier than a 2yr old). Every day is a huge step!

Hang in there! It will be well worth it! I was at home on bedrest from about 6-8 weeks, then again at home from 12-20 weeks. I was also in the hospital from 20 weeks until I delivered at 30 weeks. It was hard, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. I will be praying for you!

Thanks for all of the support!! It is very hard being confined to the bed/chair but it will be so worth it to carry these babies for several more weeks.

I am 21 weeks as of yesterday Smile I had an appointment wih my ob today and she said to come back April 24 and I will be admitted! That is just our first big milestone. I hope once I am in the hospital I am there for a while. I will be extremely relieved once the babies reach viability. Tomorrow I go for another level 3 and I hope baby A has been stockpiling fluid Smile Last week the ultrasound showed great improvement--not with fluid but with the space he had. Previously his sister was sitting on his head and he was crunched up. Apparently they repositioned so she is not infringing on his space. Also, my leaking has slowed and even stops some days Smile

Checking in on you. I am following your story closely and I hope you have many more weeks of bedrest before the babies get here.

Any interest in taking up knitting? I could send you some yarn and needles. There are a ton of YouTube videos out there.

Well, we recieved good and bad news today. My membranes have resealed and baby boy has plenty of fluid!! On the other hand, they discovered he has tetrology of fallot- a heart defect Sad We will be seeing a pediatric cardiologist soon. As for the bedrest, I may be able to resume regular activities although I am hesitant because now more than ever I need to let this baby bake to get as strong as possible before delivery.....

I'm so sorry that you recieved such bad news. What does this mean for the little one? Keep those babies baking and get them big and strong. T&P are with you.

I have been doing alot of research and talking with people I know in the medical field and while having a congenital heart problem is significant..the surgery is about 100% successful. It's awful to think about him having open heart surgery but everything says that these babies typically go on to lead a normal life. Both babies are currently in the 55% and are otherwise looking great! My dr. says he will go on to grow as normal and depending on the extent of the problem they will either do surgery after birth or within the first 6 months. We are meeting Wednesday with the cardiologist so we will know a bot more then! Thanks for checking in on us Smile

Aww man, thats rough - positive on one hand you will be cleared and the it looks like the surgery is a sure fix with no long term effects but just to deal with it and the surgery, I will keep you in my prayers!! After all is said and done, it will all be worth it and your son will be healthy and thats all that matters!! Smile Stay positive!

I'm sorry for all the stressors and I hope you can keep them in much longer to grow that boy big and strong for his heart surgery.

Wow - that is great news about the membrane and fluid!!

I am sorry to hear about the heart defect. Looking at the bright side, it is fixable and he will lead a happy, healthy life. That is the most important part.

I will continue to think about you and your family!

Keep them little ones baking away!
