How many are out there...

Just wanted to see how many are either lurking or actively pregnant with twins or multiples? I been popping in and out but its been quiet. Smile Just entering into my 7th month, I am getting a little nervous - and also, uncomfortable LOL.... aching hips, feel like Im having the inability to breath sometimes - which I know I can but still, exhaustion, I could go on and on but I am sure everybody here knows what I am explaining. I have pretty much gotten everything set up and ready - I still need a dresser and a gliding/rocking chair and then just to wash all the babies' clothes and put it up which I will do that closer to the time. And at least if I go into labor at any point or need to be put on bed rest, etc, I have enough done that I feel comfortable asking for help with the little last minute tasks. DH will return from Afghanistan just a few weeks before the babies' arrive - if they arrive at 38 weeks. I just hope he makes it here before Smile If nothing else, to put the car seats in the mini-van LOL ... Anyway, thats where I am at and just wanted to see where everyone else is at and if anyone has any advice for the hospital or homecoming - ie lessons learned or anything, I would be glad to hear!

Hi, I'm 22 weeks here and having some bad nights, lack of sleep. Mostly heartburn and then hip & leg pain which makes me switch sides constantly and still can't get comfortable even with extra pillows, etc. So I am trying to squeeze in naps when I can. Nursery furniture's been bought, just need to finish final decorating touches, car seats bought, etc. Basically trying to get everything done early too. My belly has gotten bit uncomfy to where my Stepdad's been taking me to doctors, thank goodness for him. Because between the lack of sleep and feeling blah, I don't feel like driving, know what I mean? My next appt. is the 18th, then I think I'll go one time in August but then to every week in September to the MFM place (scans a plenty).

Im a lurker. Im 5 months with girl/girl twins that we conceived naturally. My body hurts esp my back and pelvis. Everyday errands wear me out and its even getting harder and harder to take my DD to school. Plus it doesnt help that DS is a very needy 2 year old. I was admitted once to L&D for contractions at 19 weeks but got to go home because my cervex was still closed. I still get contrations daily and my Dr. said my uterus is already measuring 8 months! Im so scared to have these babies early but im going to do my very best to keep them cooking as long as I can!

Lurker -

I'm 27.5 weeks with ID boy twins, naturally conceived. I have mostly good days - sometimes my belly gets in the way, I measured 32 weeks last week at my appointment. My sleep is pretty good - I sleep on our couch recliner, which helps with any hip or back pain. Tired-wise, it just depends on the day and what I do. I have been learning to ask for help more, which is hard for me. I still work full-time, although my job is a desk job, so I'm hoping to work until the end. We have moved DD to our smaller room and are having a yard sale at the end of the month to get rid of all the saved girl's clothes - then the larger bedroom will be re-done for the boys. We have some stuff to use from DD, because she was a surprise and we have bought some clothes, another crib and a double stroller.

My biggest hope is to make it to 38 weeks (or at least 36!) - I'm trying to do all I can to avoid bed-rest.

Hi!
I am a novice here. Just 7w6d pregnant with twins. I am mostly dealing with nausea at this point and of course tiredness. At this point I am just at the hoping stage of this pregnancy... hoping for a healthy pregnancy... hoping for healthy babies and healthy mommy... hoping I can survive this.

I mainly just lurk ....... Due date is now Sept 29th so I am a little over 25 weeks. I am slowly starting to hurt and move real slow. My body hurts by the end of the day. I just started seeing a specialist so I feel like I have an apt or a sono all the time.(I have to admit I do like it but it also hard to find sitters all the time for my 2 others). So far I have only gained like 12 lbs although I feel huge!!!!

Sarah, I hurt too lately. My legs, hips, knees hurt starting around 3-4AM and then I barely sleep. Then I get out of bed, it still hurts some. Thinking of getting a really good maternity belt, see if that helps. Nearing 24 weeks now, first threshold of viability, but now I have extra amniotic fluid and need to take my GD test Monday and get another scan done on July 2nd. I hear ya about all these scans and having trouble getting sitters, etc, luckily my Mother in Law has been here but she flies home July 15 but will be back by Aug 31st. Thank goodness because I can barely move much already, walk slow too and such, disliking stairs already. Now I am worried about extra fluid which I hear can make it even harder but hopefully it'll resolve and if not, get reduction done, etc.

P.S. I've gained 28lbs already and I'm petite, wondering now how much is extra fluid. Will ask the specialists at next appt.

One of my twins was showing lower fluid than the other. So the speicalist checked and eveything seemed fine. He said with twins they already start "comparing" them and one must have had a little more than the other. The closer I get to the 28-30 week mark the better I feel not that I want to have them this early but I know the survival rates start to get much higher!!! I use to think that way with my others too... which were born 41.3 days and 39 weeks I am not sure I would make it even close to that this time!!

We are moving and I am going to have to interview some ob-gyns next month. My questions are going to be: under what instance do you put the mother on bedrest? what percentage of your twin pregnancies end up on bedrest? and when is the absolute latest you would deliver a twin pregnancy?

I have noticed a lot of differences in how docs handle those situations, and I want one whose thoughts are in line with my own.

I dont know about the percentage of mothers go on best rest but my doctor told me that if I havent delivered by 38 weeks, I will be induced (or c-section, if thats whats needed - depending on the position of baby A)

Tiffany, I too just moved this week !! Crazy time to be moving but my doctors were well prepared for me and had all of my records. I saw them for the first time yesterday and they did their own baseline growth US, cervix check, I am seeing them on a weekly basis, and starting NSTs next week. My doctor told me I will schedule a c-section at 38 weeks (hope that comes quickly). I am pretty sure bedrest is based on how you feel and how frequent braxton hicks occur..ect...Best of luck on our move Smile
