New here, IVF twins, lots of scans coming

Hi everyone. I'm new to being pregnant with twins (13 weeks) although mine are IVF. I had my NST today and the doctor went through a lot of things with us and it's somewhat overwhelming but exciting. Because I've had LEEP surgery in the past they have to do repeat scans, etc, for the next few weeks in case of needing a Cerclage. Then a scan every week once I get past 30 weeks (I think).

We're laughing in a way because we thought we were constantly at doctors during IVF but now even more so. Smile Between the specialists and the Obgyn, it's going to be quite a busy summer ahead. Today alone I peed in a cup three times for different docs, etc.

I try to eat a lot but it's been hard with nausea. Did/does anyone drink protein shakes at all? I've been eating a protein bar a day and someone mentioned shakes are really good. Just not sure if I need shakes or what kind to even get. My doc said to eat spinach a lot but I'm not a spinach person.

Congrats on the twins. Yeah the appts are crazy! But you seem to have even more then normal. I did the protein shakes a few times. They were good. And I took a pill for the nausea that worked awesome and it allowed me to eat non stop! Dilexton ( not sure if that's the correct spelling)

I did the protein shakes, honestly the bars were better to me. I did not love either though, but I did manage to choke it down. lol. Maybe if I had just added the protein powder stuff to a smoothie or something. lol

Congrats on your twins! I remember you from the ttcal board a long time ago! It has been quite a journey for you!

Congrats! I ate a few protein bars but mostly I just ate anything I was able to keep down, so it was 8 months of orange juice and ice cream. I didn't eat a single vegetable for several months! Beee

Hopefully soon I'll get my normal appetite back, with my sons it went away at 15-16 weeks. Almost there... Smile

Rachelrazzle - hi, yup, been on this board for ages (3rd screen name). Been trying a long time to have kids, tried with my 1st husband but got divorced, remarried again at age 37, then had my boys. Been trying for the 3rd for 4 years and now I get a bonus of twins. Smile

I've been looking at the scan photos a lot today and think that no matter how busy it'll be or how uncomfy I get, I love them so much already. Smile
