Hello All.
I had an u/s last Friday (Nov 2at 6w3d. We saw two yolk sacs and one baby (with a HB) on a rather low tech u/s machine. Since then my m/s has gotten unbearable and I am starting on meds (25mg B6 3x per day and 1/2 Unisom tab at night) and I just had another u/s scheduled as the doctor thinks that 2nd yolk sac might be another baby. Does this happen? I am beyond nervous and a tiny bit excited. Thought you ladies might have some insight. Thanks!
Yes, it is possible that the second yolk sac could show a viable embryo/fetus at some point. I think you are about 7 weeks now, so you should know soon. I do want to say that if it happens to be twins, don't assume they are identical. Many spontaneous twins are fraternal. There won't be much of a way to tell until you know their sexes or you have genetic testing completed after they are born. OR, if you are like me, your possible twins will have different eye and hair colors making it very clear that they are fraternal.![]()
If they are sharing a sac then, yes, they are identical. CongratsMy mom is an identical and at 55 they still look a lot alike, talk a like and they even write the same (its so funny) KUP on any developments and welcome to the world of mulitples.
exciting! You should know more soon. KUP!
I saw two "blobs" at a 5.5 wk u/s (bleeding and I panicked on a Sun and went to the er lol). The u/s tech only pointed out the one, but I knew I saw two (the second was more oval than round looking) but a bit later the er doc told me I had twins, but had miscarried one. Apparently she was wrong. lol
